Chapter 1
BITTER PAST
The dark clouds covered the sky,the frightning sound of thunder was heard everywhere.The cool breeze blew announcing the arrival of the rain.The rain,which had taken everything dear to me,the rain which had given me a bitter past was again going to arrive.That thought rose an unknown fear in me.My mind went back to that dreadful rainy days.
I was of six,when my dear pet dog 'Luke' left me.I still remember that day.It was pouring heavily,when I went for a walk with him to the nearby park.His joy knew no bounds,when I untied him.I did so because I was well aware about his hatred towards leash.We were'nt accompanied by any elder ones as the park was just a few feet away from my home .My pink frock had started sticking into my body as rain increased.The sudden horn of the icecream van,diverted my attention from Luke.Though it was damn cold,I could'nt do justice to my vanilla icecream.I ran to the van,leaving Luke behind.I did'nt knew at that time that my sudden run would take him away from me...FOREVER...A car had hit him...I had blamed myself for years.I still regret it.
Rain had stopped fascinating me from that day onwards.Nothing about rain attracted me,anymore.
Later,I had came to know that my grandpa was having cancer on another rainy day...That made me hate rain further.
I began hating rain like nothing else in this world,when it took away the final happiness I had,leaving me alone here.That day is still fresh in my mind.Afterall how can I forget the day.
'Who is Zoya Farooqui'? 'Its me sir'-I had replied my new professor.
'Principal wants you down'
I had started walking towards his room.To be frank,I was shaking with fear.I was anxious to know the reason .My mind had started working unusually as I got near him.Well it was raining,I hoped that I was not getting expelled. I hoped that everything was fine.I saw my uncle,when I finally reached there.My principal and uncle both seemed to be involved in a serious conversation.My uncle looked rather tensed up.What was he doing here?I asked to myself.Are they both trying to kick me out from the school?I asked to myself because all I know about my uncle was that he is a jerk.My mom had told me it.My uncle and my family were'nt in good terms.So I had'nt met him frequently but only twice or once.He had openly expressed his disapproval in joining me in such a costly school.'zoya' _Principal's voice put an end to my wild thoughts.'You need to go with him Zoya'-he said surprising me.What was he talking about?Me going with that jerk.Never...Was he out of his mind -I wanted to ask but I supressed it with a why.'Why'-I think your uncle will explain it to you-MR.Abraham ,our principal said.I glanced at my uncle,he had a concern written all over his face,which melted me.So I followed him towards the gate with my backpack.It was still raining,so I took out my umbrella.'Get inside'-my uncle told when we reached near a car,which I assumed to be his.'What's the matter'-I asked once I got inside,all my anxiety taking over me.He ignited the engine and started driving.Then he told me something That I was expecting.He told me that my parents met with an accident.I knew he was kidding.So I snapped back'Really'...Are you trying to kid me.Actually I had just met them 1hour ago,when they dropped me in school.So please dont try to foo...I was about to finish when I realised that we had reached the hospital.He dragged me inside.I did'nt know what was happening .So It was hard for me to respond.How is he?-my uncle asked to one doctor.The doctor gave him a sorry look.My heart beat increased,who was they talking about.Can it be her parents,she thought.The chances for my parents to meet an accident were high.Afterall it was raining too.Now I felt sick.I rushed towards the doctor&barged into one room.I saw my dad lying unconscious there.I found it hard to breathe when I noticed that he was'nt breathing.My uncle came from outside and held me as a sign of support.They had met with an accident on their way back home,Zoya ,he started explaining.I went near my dad ,kneeled on my knees and started crying.It was too hard for me.'Mom' my mind soon went back to her.I wanted her to be safe and sound.'zoya'-your mom wants to see you,the doctor said.I soon rushed towards her.I saw her lying there,she looked pale,her face's glow gone somewhere.Zoe-she called me affectionately.I broke down&started crying ,hugging her.Shhh...She tried to console me but I went on.Hows your dad-she asked.He is okay mom-I lied,we all are waiting for you to be okay now.Look mom Zayn is also here waiting for you to play ludo with you.She smiled a made smile and started speaking.Zayn is very young zoya,11 yrs younger than u.He is just 4 now .He is too young for all this.Do take care of your little brother if anything happens to me.Nothing is gonna happen to you mom,u will be okay,I tried my best not to cry again.No zoe its hard for me,she said.Her breath getting shallower.Fear grew inside me and it had turned into pain when I saw her lifeless fame.'Mom'...-I shouted.
'ZOE'...my little brother shouted from behind,his chirpy yet soft voice brought me back from the memories of that dreadful day.I turned around after wiping my tears off.I did'nt want him to know that I was crying as I had learnt from his past actions that he did'nt like me crying.He had'nt eaten anything on that day when I came home crying because of some danger boys who had tried to rape me.Luck was with me that day as a cop used to pass by and he saved me.Zoe,I'm hungry...my bro complained by patting his stomach.I smiled at his antics.What do you want Zayn baby?I asked to irritate him as he hated me calling him baby.I'm not a baby zoe,my 6year old brother pouted.Ok Mr.Zayn Farooqui ,What will you like to have,I asked .Scrambled eggs would be enough,he told.Okay...I muttered and started making it while he retired back to watch his 'Spongebob' Two years had passed after our parents death.We have moved out from New York and was now in Australia,with our uncle.But we are in different houses.He in his and we in our's.He had arranged me a job in a bakery.I had'nt went to school for one year because I was busy earning for paying rent and for my brother's studies.But now the bakery asked me to work only in the evenings.So I can study too.Uncle had got me an admission to a new school here.So actually tomorrow is my first day to school.To be frank,I'm nervous.ZOE...are you not eating?Zayn asked.I glanced at my halftouched food and then looked at his empty plate and laughed .

Zoya story was emotional
She lost her parents. She hate rain
She love with her younger brother. Now starting school again after 2 yrs.
