Chapter 56

Asad had left work to get back to his wife only to be stranded in the storm. The heavy rains have caused a huge accident on the highway causing him to be stuck for hours. When he pulled into the driveway, the house was pitch black. Asad had ushered the security at the gate to check on the backup generator which should have started and rushed into the house. He went up to the room to find it empty. Then, Asad checked in the kitchen but she wasn't there either. He tried calling out to her but the thunder outside was making it hard. Panic started to rise inside him when he couldn't find her. Suddenly, Asad heard the sound of shattering glass and strode towards the noise. He found her shaking, diaphoretic, and she was about to faint to the ground when he caught her in his arms. "Zoya! Zoya!" he called out. The more she thought about him, the more fear engulfed her. The pain about losing Asad or something happening in their lives again was squeezing the life out of her. As she was trying to walk back to the living room, Zoya felt her head spin and darkness flash in her eyes. But, before she could fall, he had come! He always did, to save her. When she heard him call out for her, Zoya put in her effort to lift her lashes up. Seeing him, she felt life weave back into her. He was here...he was safe. He was here with her, her heart screamed in joy. Placing her palm on his cheek, "Asad, tum theek ho," she said relieved. "Zoya, tume kya hua hai?" he asked worried. "Main...main tu...I," Asad could see that she was having difficulty breathing. He wrapped his other arm behind her knees and lifted her up in his arms. Walking carefully, Asad placed zoya on the couch in the living room. He searched for his phone to turn on the flashlight when he realized it had died. "Zoya, tum yehi raho. Main tumare liye paani aur kuch candles ley aata hoon," he told her. As he was about to get up from the sofa, she grabbed his wrist. "Nahi...please," she said, barely audible. "But Zoya, hum aise andhere mein thodi na bait sakthe hai. The lights are out, please let me go. Main bas doh minute mein wapaas aajaunga," Asad requested. She just shook her head negatively. "Theek hai, chalo," Asad said as he lifted her in his arms again. Reaching the kitchen, he carefully made her sit on of the stools. Asad quickly poured her a glass of water and made her drink so she would calm down a little. He then started looking for the candles and lit them up, bringing some light into the room.

As he came closer to his wife, Asad was shocked to see tears glistening in her eyes. He placed the candle on the counter next to him and rushed up to her. "Kya hua hai Zoya, tum roh kyun rahi ho?" Asad asked shocked. "Kuch nahi. Bas aap yaha hai yehi mere liye bahut kaafi hai," Zoya told him as she wrapped her arms around his neck and hid in the crook of his neck. Asad was concerned. He knew that Zoya was afraid of the dark but the state that he found her in told him that something else was going on. But what? He wondered as he wrapped his arms around her quivering body. "Zoya, kya hua hai? Kohi aaya tha ghar par? Kohi phone? Kisine kuch kaha?" Asad asked. She didn't respond instead just hugged him tighter. "You are scaring me jaan," Asad told her. She slowly broke away from him a few seconds later. "Aapke jaane keh baad, thodi dher mein mujhe neend aagayi. Jab main uti toh maine dekha keh aap nahi the aur bahar mausam bahut karaab hai. Main bahut dar gayi thi Asad. Uss uss din jab aise hi mausam karaab hua toh aap nahi aur phir...," Zoya was sobbing and could hardly speak by the end. Asad looked at his wife, his heart clenching in pain. He knew that she was really affected by everything that had happened but to witness it was unbearable. Asad didn't have any words to comfort her. He placed his hand around her neck pulling her closer, covering his lips to hers. Asad didn't know what else to do. He provided her the only solace he could. Their kiss was fierce. He wanted her to know that he was right here, and nothing was taking him away from here. When Zoya felt her lips on hers, her eyes closed on their own accord. She was afraid that this storm will bring a storm in her life. She was afraid to be away from him. She was afraid that someone will take her happiness away again. But, what she felt in that kiss, seem to fill the hole in her heart. Though, only partially. As they broke apart, fresh tears appeared in her eyes and rolled down. "Please Zoya, main tume rohte huwe nahi dekh saktha. Tum yeh jaanti ho," he said cupping her face and wiping her cheeks. "Aur main kahi nahi jaraha hoon, I am right here," Asad said placing a kiss on her forehead and pulling her in his arms. "I love you Asad," she declared. "I love you too! Aur ha khabhi phir yeh mat soochna keh main tumse kahi bhi jaraha hoon, Ok?" Asad said breaking away from her and looking into her eyes. Zoya nodded her head, unable to say anything.

Just then, the lights came back on. "Dekho...lights bhi aagayi chalo," Asad said as he moved to the counter and blew out the candles. Turning towards her, he saw Zoya clutch her abdomen and close her eyes in agony. Asad ran up to her, "Zoya, kya hua? Tum theek ho?" he questioned. "Ha, bas thoda dard horaha hai," she told him. But, he could see that she was having pain. "Tumare liye itna stress leyna theek nahi hai. Please relax," Asad said. "Main theek hoon," she comforted. "Stop pretending that you are not in pain Zoya," he almost yelled making her jump. Asad, yeh tum kya karahe ho, he howled at himself. Running a frustrated hand through his hair, he gathered her in his arms again. "Asad, aap yeh kya karahe hai? Main theek hoon. Main upar jasakthi ho," she said. He just glared at her and kept walking. "Aap ghile hogaye hai, aap fresh hojayiye, main saach mein theek ho," Zoya told him. He reached the room and took her up to the bed. Placing her on the mattress, "Aabh chup chap yaha baito. Mujhe kuch nahi suna hai," he stated firmly. "Par main...," she was about to speak when he placed his finger on her lips. "Shhh...not a word," he scolded. Zoya sighed and bobbed her head. Asad took his kurta pajama to change. Once he returned from the bathroom, he called the doctor to ask if he should have Zoya come to the hospital to be checked out. The doctor had said that having some cramping was normal as the babies grew. However, if the pain was constant and severe or if Zoya started to have any bleeding then the doctor wanted them to immediately come to the hospital. All this took more than 30 minutes and Zoya sat there silently trying to be quiet as he told her. Finally, her patience was up! "Mr. Khan, main chup nahi reha sakthi, can I say something please?" he pleaded. Asad's anger and worry all flew away as he saw her batting her eyelids with her lips in a pout. His mouth curved into a smile. "Fine, kya bolna hai?" he asked. "Aap gussa kyun karte hai, mujhe bi...," Zoya said when he interrupted. "Tume bilkul bhi accha nahi lagtha, I know," Asad said guiltily. "Phir bhi aap?" Zoya said getting mad at him. "I am sorry Zoya. But, I hate keh tum apna khayal nahi rakthi. Agar kissi aur koh choti si karooch bhi aajaye toh tume woh baada lagtha hai. Lekin tume kuch bhi ho toh tum itna asaani se leyti ho, mujhe bilkul bhi accha nahi lagtha," Asad said honestly. Zoya smiled at her husband. She took his hand in her one hand, and placed her other hand on top of his. "Asad, jab se mujhe yaad hai maine hamesha mere khayal raka hai. Kyun ki mere liye kohi nahi tha," she said sadly. Asad moved closer and placed his hand on her cheek. She shook her head trying to get rid of the dreadful thoughts. "Lekin jab se humara nikkah hua hai, main jaanti hoon keh mere liye kohi hai. Mere choti se choti baat, meri har khwaish se kisiko farak padtha hai. Toh main aabh sabh ka khayal rakna chathi hoon, aapka, humare babies ka, humari family ka...sabh ka," Zoya explained. Asad bent down and pecked her lips. "You know I love you," he declared. "Yup!" she said beaming. "Allah miyan, what's wrong with me? Aapko bhook lagi hogi na, main aap kehliye khana garam karti hoon," Zoya said. "Tum kahi nahi jarahi ho," he told her. "Par khana toh padega na, I am hungry," Zoya said. "Main khana garam karta hoon," Asad offered. "Nahi Asad, main aabh bilkul bhi theek hoon. Aur waise bhi mujhe chawal or roti nahi khana hai. I think I will make something else," Zoya thought out loud. "Zoya," Asad said when she intervened before he could say anything more. "Please Asad...please please please," she pouted. He sighed. Having no choice, Asad picked her up in his arms and left for the kitchen.

After going through the cabinets in the kitchen, Zoya decided that she wanted chicken pasta for dinner than the already prepared Indian food. "Oh this is going to be so yummy," Zoya exclaimed. As she bent down to get a pot, Asad reflexively held on her elbow and pulled her back. "Yeh tum kya karahi ho? Aisi halat aisa karna theek nahi hai," he disapproved. Zoya looked at him surprised, how did he know that? "Woh actually uss din jab Ammi tume baata rahi thi toh I was listening," he admitted. Zoya lips curved into a smile. "Toh aap kaam karne ka natak karahe the," she teased. "Whatever. Now tell me what you need and I will do it for you," Asad stated. She just nodded without the smile leaving her face. The next hour, Zoya cooked the pasta while instructing Asad to get the vegetables, the dishes, and spices she needed. As she closed the pasta down to simmer for a couple minutes before they could eat it, they felt her husband encircle her waist. "I am tired," he groaned placing her chin on her shoulder. "Bas paanch minute phir khana ready hojayega," she told him. "I don't think mujhe khana chahiye," Asad said as he twisted her around to face him. His eyes lowered to her pink lips which parted on their own, as if sensing his desire. Asad bent down and captured her lips with hers. The kiss was soft and slow as if he was devouring her. Finding her so terrified earlier that evening had scared Asad. He was scared that he might lose her. What if he hadn't come in on time? What if he hadn't left her alone in the first place? It was a careless decision to let your pregnant wife alone, his mind chided. Zoya could feel that she was worried. She could feel his fears overflow in his senses. Moving away from her mouth, he trailed along her jaw. Zoya just closed her eyes as her husband created a storm inside her, her hands tightly gripped on to his shoulders. He then moved down to her shoulder, kissing and biting her skin as Zoya cried out his name. Asad wanted her now! He needed to confirm again that his beautiful wife was alright, that she was with him. He was about to unzip her kurti when the ringing of his phone disrupted them. They quickly broke apart. Asad smiled at his flushed wife as he answered his phone. It was then he realized that he had forgotten that he had arranged a surprise for Zoya. So much happened since he got home that he fail to remember that he had wanted arrangements done. "Cancel everything for today, I don't want to do it because of the weather," he ordered. A few minutes later, he ended the call. "Kya hua Asad?" she asked. "Nothing, come let's eat," Asad said. Zoya nodded as she served the pasta in the bowls that Asad had retrieved from the cabinet. They both headed towards the table in the dining room.

Asad held her left palm in his left as they ate dinner together. Zoya was extremely happy that she was spending time with him. The last couple weeks had been a nightmare for her. She had realized that living without him was a curse. But, she still kept going for her baby, well babies now. Now, having him next to her, caressing her hand seemed like a dream. Asad looked up to see her observing him. He raised his eyebrows asking her what happened. She just shook her head negatively and smiled. Asad felt his heart dance with joy. Few hours ago, he had been miserable to see her so scared about him, about losing him. But, now seeing her beautiful dimple smile grace her lips, he felt relieved of everything. All his tensions, worries flew out the window. Their moment was disrupted when they heard the front door open. They both saw usamn drenched. "Aree Usman, tum kaha chale gaye the?" Zoya asked. In her fright, she had totally forgot that Usman was supposed to be home. "Woh di, main bahar gaya tha aur phir baarish keh wajase phas gaya," Usman replied. "Tabhi tum ghar peh nahi the. Accha jao, change karlo aur maine...," Zoya was telling him when Asad interrupted. "Tume kya zaroorat thi ghar se kahi jaane ki? Tum ghar par nahi reha sakthe," he yelled looking at Usman. Zoya was shocked whereas Usman was terrified with Asad's raised voice. "Woh Bhaiya...main...," Usman shuddered. "Tumara kaam hai keh tum yaha raho aur ghar ka khayal rako. Accha agar Zoya koh kuch hojata toh?" he screamed. "Asad...tum kya bol rahe ho? Usman koh thode na paata tha keh aisa kuch hoga," Zoya defended. "Akir tum gaye kaha the?" Asad asked. "Woh subhe Nikhat Bhabhi ne bola tha keh Zoya didi keh dawayi khatam hone koh hai. Issliye main woh leyne gaya tha," Usman said as he clutched onto a plastic bag in his hand. Zoya was feeling bad as she glared at her husband. Asad closed his eyes running a hand through his hair. Zoya was always right! He didn't know what he said when he was angry. "Usman...mujhe maaf...," he said helplessly but Usman intervened. "Aree nahi nahi Bhaiya, aap kuch bol rahe hai toh sahi hi hoga. Mujhe shayad Zoya didi koh akele chodkar nahi jaana chahiye tha," Usman said guiltily. "Usman kohi baat nahi. Tum jao, kapde badal lo. Aur ha andar chawal dal hai ya maine pasta banaya hai, kuch khalo," Zoya told him. Usman just nodded and left from there. "Kya Asad, aap bhi?" Zoya said, giving him "the" look. "Sorry yaar, mujhe kya paata tha?" he said pouting. "Aapko bina baat sune chilana zaroori hota hai," Zoya yelled. "Ok, I am sorry, very very sorry. Aabh please khana khale?" Asad asked. "Fine," she said still upset at what had happened. Asad led her to the table and they finished dinner. Little later, Asad gave Zoya her medications and put her to bed.

That night, Asad sat his study gathering everything he had so far from the police and private investigator. He bought a white board out and started putting all the evidence they had so far on it. They knew a few things so far: one was that Tanveer was sent here by someone, and the other was that she was being paid by two people. Why? Was money the intention? If money was what Tanveer needed, she could have blackmailed Asad into giving her money. She could have bribed him to keep her pregnancy a secret from Zoya and asked him for money instead. However, Tanveer had announced her pregnancy in front of the whole family. She had openly admitted that the baby was Asad's. So, Tanveer wanted money as well as something else. What? Him? No, that didn't make sense. She left him four years ago for someone else. Why would she remember him after all these years? Asad sat there recalling every moment, every incident with Tanveer. He wanted to remember every detail of the time she was here, as painful as it might be. He was sure that the answer to his questions was definitely hidden in all this. Looking through everything, he found the answer. The goal of Tanveer and whoever had bought her here was to hurt Zoya. It made sense! Tanveer had purposely dropped her pregnancy report so the family will find it. She wanted Zoya to find out that she was pregnant. Asad also remembered that Tanveer bought up the topic of marrying her, only when she was sure that Zoya was around. Who wanted to hurt Zoya? Obviously family was out of the question, it had to be an outsider. Maybe it was from someone's Zoya past that he didn't know about. Should he ask her about it? No, he couldn't do that. Zoya was trying very hard to overcome what has occurred. He had to find out without alerting Zoya, which was going to be hard, Asad thought as he sat there staring at the white board in front of him.

The next day, Asad had taken leave from work and wanted to spend the whole day with his beautiful wife. Zoya felt the warm sun against her skin as she snuggled into her duvet. "Wake up gorgeous!" he whispered caressing her cheek. "Hmmm," she groaned, her eyes still closed. "Zoya, uth jao. Breakfast thanda horaha hai," Asad said, kissing her cheek. She lifted her lashes up and beamed at him. "Good morning," she mumbled. "Tum na pregnant huwe jab se bahut lazy hogayi ho," Asad teased. "Agar aapke andar doh doh babies football khel rahe ho toh aap jaane," she said grumpily. "Bahut dard horaha tha?" he asked concerned. "Nahi, bas sohne mein thoda mushkil hoti hai, thoda uncomfortable hai," Zoya said. Asad took her hand in his, "Tum fresh hojao, tumare liye breakfast ready hai," he stated. "Bas paanch minute, main abhi aayi. Bahut bhook lagi hai," Zoya said as Asad helped her off the bed and she walked away to get ready for the day. Little later, Zoya returned in a pair of comfortable black leggings and a yellow kurti. "Asad, aap kal bahut dher se soye the. Bahut kaam tha?" she asked walking towards the sofa. Asad was surprised at the question. He had thought that she was in deep slumber when he left for the study. "Ha, woh Bhaijaan aur Abu nahi haina toh kuch kaam khatam karna tha," Asad said without making eye contact, as he arranged the breakfast on the table. Zoya was busy wiping her hair that she didn't see Asad's eyes which lingered with a sense of guilt for lying. Taking a seat, she was surprised that Asad had made parathas. "Aapne kiya hai yeh sabh?" she asked. "Ha, chalo aabh khao aur bolo keh kaisa hai," he said. "Lekin aap toh mujhe hamesha oatmeal aur omelet dehte hai," Zoya said confused. Asad chuckled at his innocent wife, "woh sabh kal khale na, aaj ka din tum joh chahogi woh milega," he told her. "Saach?" Zoya exclaimed. "Yes, chalo moh kholo," Asad said as he bit a piece of the paratha, dipped it in her favorite mango pickle and offered it to her lips. Zoya opened her mouth and ate the food. "Kaisa hai?" he asked expectantly as she chewed. "Bahut hi accha hai, yeh parathas sabh se best hai," Zoya said as she wrapped her arm around his, placing her head on his shoulder.

Later that day, Zoya broke out of her afternoon nap. She sat up on the bed and looked outside the window to see the sun setting for the day. It looked beautiful, she thought with a smile. Zoya's eyes searched for her husband but he wasn't in the room. "Zaroor kohi kaam karahe honge," she muttered pushing the comforter off her legs and stepping out of bed. When Zoya walked into the bathroom, she saw a bag on the counter. She picked it up to find two boxes inside. Zoya opened the bigger box to find a beautiful light blue sari with a white colored bored with silver stones. The small box had a pair of matching jhumkas. She also found a note attached to the bag. "Get dressed quickly and come down, I am waiting for you! And yes, follow the path," it read. Her lips curved into a smile. This is one of her husband's surprises, she thought excitedly. But, there was nothing special about today so why? Zoya wondered. Putting her thoughts aside, Zoya changed into the sari and earrings. She went into the changing room and brushed her hair straight. Zoya almost couldn't recognize her reflection in the mirror. She had gained a good amount of weight in the past week; the babies were growing fast as she neared her second trimester. She glowed with the joy thinking that her babies would arrive soon. These 3.5 months were going to progress painfully slow, she concluded. Would they be girls or boys? Or one of each? How will they be? Like Asad? Or like her? No, agar humare bacche Mr. Khan ki taara akdu huwe toh Allah miyan, aap hi mujhe bachaye. Aap dono koh aapke papa ki taara boring bilkul bhi nahi banna hai. Lekin ha, unki taara ek accha aur saacha insaan zaroor banna hai," Zoya said as she lovingly caressed her abdomen. As she stood there admiring herself, Zoya recalled that her husband was waiting for her. She quickly added her favorite piece of jewelry around her wrist and walked out of there.

Opening the room door, Zoya found that her path was decorated with red roses. Her face lit up, he did this for her! So, this is what he meant when he said follow the path. Zoya carefully walked down the path that lead her to the living room and outside to the backyard. However, once she was outside, all she saw was darkness. "Asad," Zoya called out but she was answered with was silence. "Asad, kaha hai aap? Look this is really not fu...," as her words came to still when she felt him drawing his finger down her back. The choli was full sleeved but the back was pretty much exposed except for a small clasp and a dori at the top, leaving her smooth, silky skin to his display. Before she could turn around, Asad held her shoulders with one hand and place his other hand on top of her eyes. "Asad, aap yeh kya karahe hai?" Zoya managed to get out. "I have something for you. Yaha aise hi rehna," he whispered. Her breath hitched and her chest could feel her heart beat against it. Placing a kiss on her shoulder, Zoya felt his warmth depart from her. "Yeh Asad bhi na, kuch na kuch karte rehte hai. Aur mujhe ek din heart attack hojayega Allah miyan," she mumbled, placing her hand against her chest hoping to calm it down. Zoya waited patiently for her husband with her eyes closed. Few seconds later, she started tapping her foot counting the time in her head. "Asad, aap kaha hai? mujhse wait nahi hota," she complained. The next moment, Zoya felt his arms wrap around her waist. "Sorry jaan, chalo," he said. "Main aankhe kholo?" she asked. "Not right now, when I count to 10," Asad told her. Zoya nodded as he guided her forward. Few steps ahead, he stopped and counted. As soon as he said the number 10, Zoya opened eyes and a gasp escaped her lips. In front of her stood a beautiful gazebo, decorated with red and white roses along with white lights. On top of the gazebo were white cloths tied along the edges. Inside, Zoya saw a table set up for two. "Asad...this is so beautiful!" she said turning to her husband. "Maybe, but mujhe toh meri pyaari khoobsurat biwi keh alava kuch nahi dikhta," Asad said. Zoya felt her cheeks turn crimson on their own accord. "Aapne yeh sabh kiya kabh, mujhe toh kuch paata nahi chala," she said surprised. "Have to say, humare bacche tume bahut hi taaka dehte hai. Aur maine uska advantage liya hai," Asad said proudly making Zoya giggle. Her husband looked exquisite tonight. Dressed in a black Armani suit, he had matched it with a light blue shirt similar to her sari. His hair was gelled back with his face freshly shaven, he looked handsome. "Hello madam, kaha koh gayi, chale?" Asad said snapping his fingers. Zoya smiled as she intertwined her hand with his.

Walking towards the table, Asad pulled out the chair for his better half. After making sure she was comfortable, he took his spot in front of her. Holding her hand in his, he slowly caressed it. They both sat in silence taking in the moment. This is what they wanted from life. They wanted to be together, share the rest of the lives in peace. Zoya silently prayed that everything just stayed the same. She knew that she and Asad will change as times change but she knew that their love was strong enough to conquer all. However, she didn't want any negative force in their life anymore. She wanted to leave all the past had conjured inside her behind her. She wanted to live for her love, her kids, and her family. But, somewhere she hoped that she could forgive the people that had hurt her. She prayed that Allah granted her the inner strength to forgive which she hasn't found yet. Asad, on the other hand, was admiring his beautiful wife. After the past couple weeks, he was just grateful that things were going back to normal. Though it might take some time to overcome what had occurred, he knew that together they could it. He just prayed that Allah keeps his Zoya and his kids safe and happy. He couldn't bear to go through the agony of seeing her in pain. However, Asad was also adamant in finding out who the person was. He didn't want anyone who could harm Zoya in their lives. He had to make sure that Zoya was safe and for that, he was ready to do anything! Suddenly, his trance was broken when he saw his wife's beautiful orbs fill with tears. "Zoya?" he said shocked. "Kuch nahi, bas aisi hi," she said quickly wiping away the tears. "Zoya...kya hua?" Asad asked. "Bas yeh sabh dekhar dil bhar aaya. Asad, mujhe dar lagraha hai. yeh sabh khabhi nahi badhlega na, bola na Asad?" she said innocently. He got up from the seat and came to her. Kneeling in front of his wife, "Zoya, main jaanta hoon keh pichle dino joh hua woh bhulna tumare liye mushkil hai. Lekin, main yeh yakeen se bol saktha hoon keh hum dono ka saath khabhi nahi chotega. Phir khabhi hum kissi aur koh humare beech mein nahi aane denge," Asad promised. Zoya wrapped her arms around his neck, hiding herself in his warm chest where she felt the safest. Asad pulled her into an embrace and caressed her hair, trying to soothe her. Breaking apart, he cupped her face in his hands. "Tum please mere saamne rohya mat karo. Actually, khabhi rohna mat, main tume hamesha khush dekhna chathi hoon," Asad told her. Zoya just bobbed her head. "Ruko, mere paas tumare liye kuch hai jisse dekhar I am sure you will smile," he said. Asad searched his coat and pulled out a small black box. He opened the box and showed its contents to her. And he was right, she did break into a smile. The box contained a cradle shaped charm. "Lekin Asad, mere paas toh yeh hai," she said as she showed him the bracelet. "Paata hai, par aabh toh humare paas ek nahi doh doh babies hai toh nishaani bhi doh honi chahiye," he told her. Taking her wrist in his hand, Asad added the charm next to the previous cradle one he had given her when they found out that she was pregnant. Zoya beamed at her husband and bent down to peck her husband's lips. "I love you Mr. Khan," she whispered against his lips. "Love you more," Asad stated, wrapping his arm around her and pulling her closer to place a kiss on her pink lips.

Breaking apart, Asad returned to his seat. "Aabh khana khate hai, I am sure you must be hungry," he said. "Ha woh toh hai, I am starving," Zoya said. "Chalo, yeh kholo," he said. Zoya eagerly opened the cover from the dishes on the table. "Allah miyan Asad, yeh sabh aapne maangaya hai," Zoya said astonished. The table was filled with all her favorites, from Chinese to chaat to pani puri to rasmalai. Asad smiled at his wife innocent, child-like grin. He knew that seeing her favorite food will surely cheer her up. "Saach mein yeh sabh aapne maangaya hai...aapki tabeyat toh theek haina?" Zoya teased. "Very funny Zoya! Aabh chup chap yeh khao aur zyada meri thaang mat keecho," Asad told her. "Aise kaise Asad, aapne mere liye yeh sabh maangaya hai, aur subhe bhi aap mere liye mere favorite parathe laaye the. Thoda sa toh mujhe yeh moment apne yaad mein baasa leyne dijiye," Zoya said acting filmy. Asad chuckled at his wife's antics. She wasn't going to give up on this too easily, he thought. Shaking his hand, Asad took a whole rasgulla and stuffed it in her mouth. Zoya glared at him while he just smiled at her. After swallowing the morsel, "Asad, aap bhi na!" she said. "Maine kya kiya hai?" he asked innocently. Zoya started to fill her plate with the food, "phele main khalo phir aapko sabh baata dungi," she said. Asad agreed as he too started eating. Asad couldn't help but stare at his gorgeous wife. The way she savored each and every bite or so innocently licked her fingers taking in every flavor of the food was so adorable. "Allah, please meri Zoya koh issi taara hamesha khush rakna," he prayed looking up at the nightly sky. After they finished dinner, Asad pulled his wife up for a dance. "Asad, sari pehen kar aur pregnant hokar main bilkul bhi dance nahi karsakthi," she told him. "Hoga! Bas mera saaath dehdo," he said determined. "Woh toh main hamesha dungi," Zoya said smilingly. Enveloping her in his arms, Asad started to slowly sway to the music that he had started to play on his phone. She snuggled closer and placed her head in the crook of his neck. This was the best moment of her life, in a very long time. As the music ended, Asad picked his wife up in his arms. Carrying her up the stairs, he took her to their room. Placing Zoya on her feet, he moved closer to pull her into a kiss. The kiss was slow, sensuous, almost like a delightful assault. Her hand moved into his velvety black hair, tugging at it. Asad moved from her lips, down to the hollow of her neck. Her lips moaned his name, as she felt his lips on her skin. He moved to the shoulder and slipped her pallu down to the floor. Zoya closed her in bliss as his hand loosened the pleats of her sari, removing it completely. He lifted her off the ground and carried her to the bed. Carefully placing her on it, he got on top of her. That night, Asad and Zoya relived the love and passion of many nights that they had missed. Tired, they fell asleep in each other's arms as the shining stars blessed the couple.

The next evening, the whole khan family returned from Mangalpur. As they all sat for dinner that night, both Najma and Nikhat were teasing a glowing Zoya. "Aisa kya hua doh dino mein keh tumara chehra aise chamak raha hai," Nikhat whispered as she served Zoya some rice. "Bhabhi please...aisa kuch bhi nahi hai," Zoya scolded. "Oh come on Bhabhi, Bhai ne aap kehliye kuch toh kiya hai, haina? Woh bhi bahut romantic?" Najma asked as she ate a piece of roti. "Chup! Ammi koh baatao?" Zoya chided, turning strawberry red. Nikhat and Najma giggled causing everyone to turn towards them. "Aisa kya hua hai? Hume bhi toh baatao?" Rashid asked. "Abu, kuch nahi. Woh bas Najma shaadi ka kohi joke suna rahi thi," Zoya said, not knowing what else to say. She glared at Nikhat and Najma for putting her in this position in front of the whole family. "Abu, main sooch rahi thi keh hume kal se hi Haider aur Humaira keh shaadi ki tyaari shuru kardeni chahiye. Aabh zyada waqt thodi na hai," Nikhat said, changing the topic. "Ha Nikhat, tum sahi bol rahi ho. Hum kal se sabh shuru karedete hai, kyun Dilshad?" Rashid said turning to his wife. "Jee, main kal hi Razia bi se baat karti hoon," she agreed. "This is so exciting!" Zoya exclaimed as everyone smiled. Soon, the preparations for the wedding started. The men were taking care of things like halls bookings, caterers and outdoor things while the ladies were in-charge of shopping, inviting guests, etc. With so many hands to help, things were going pretty smoothly. One morning, Asad was in his office when Farhan barged in. "Bhaijaan...kya hua?" Asad asked, seeing his tensed face. "Asad, mere paas kuch hai," Farhan replied. "Kya Bhai, boliye na?" Asad probed. "Abhi abhi PI aaya tha, yeh dekhe gaya hai," Farhan said handing Asad a file. Asad quickly opened it and started reading. "Usne bola hai keh investigation mein ek naam aaya hai," Farhan said hesitantly. "Razia Siddiqui!" Asad said shocked, as rage surged through his veins.

So what will happen now? Will Asad confront Razia? How will Zoya react to this? Will Haider and Humaira get married in between all this? Keep reading to find out!
