asad knew what he wanted and that was to make zoya feel pain and hurt for what she did to him ! he walked into the room ready to let her know she fell into his trap and he saw her sitting there ! love in her eyes ! and his mind went blank ! she was standing and he had an urge to just touch her so he kissed her hand and he felt her reaction she shivered at his touch ! and it pleased him - he still affected her ! asad didnt know what he was doing .. he reached for her dupatta and pulled it off - as he did that zoya lifted her hand and touched his face .. her hand was so soft - asad lost all control ! he lifted zoya in his arms ! he walked with her to the bed and placed her down on the bed and as asad tried to move away a piece of zoyas lehenga had got hooked to his sherwani , pulling him down with her so that he was just an inch away from her ! asad felt zoyas breath get heavier and her hand was at his neck pulling him down to her ! her lips looked so perfect , he was ready ! ready to let everything go and forget everything she did to him and he bent down slighly more closer to her ...

zoya couldnt wait any longer ! asad was on top of her - just a breath away ! uncounsiously her hand moved to his neck and she pulled him to her ! asad moved closer to her and she closed her eyes waiting to feel his lips on hers ! and then she felt his breath at her ear and he whispered , why did you choose ayaan ?

zoya opened her eyes shocked and she stared into the coldest , hateful eyes of asad ! and he said it again ! why did you choose ayaan !

zoya was in shock ! her mouth was dry , and asad grabbed her from the bed and he said ! i asked you a question ! i want an answer ! and he turned away from her . zoya reached to touch him ! asad , she whispered with fear ? and she touched his shoulder !

asad turned and grabbed her and pushed her against the wall ! did you really think i could just forget everything ! i look at you and i imagine you with him ! tell me zoya ,did you really think i would marry you for love ! you are nothing to me ! the only reason i live is to hate you ! you chose my brother ! you left me wth no explanation ! his grip on her tightened and zoya bit her lip in pain ! tears were rolling down her face ! asad please she begged ! and he pushed her against the wall and said ! zoya - you betrayed me and broke my belief in love ! i will make sure you are never happy again ! and he walked out of the room ! leaving a shocked and broken zoya crying on the floor !

next morning

zoya woke up , her head throbbing with pain - after asad left she cried herself to sleep ! it was her own fault ! she should have known that asad would want an explanation !

zoya ! dilshaad called through the door ! are you awake ? breakfast is ready !

coming - zoya said softly !

15 min later - zoya arrived dressed in her old salwaar and sat down to eat - noora and najma were discussing something about to wear , asad was nowhere to be seen she searched for him - dilshaad noticed and leaned over to whisper , asad had an important meeting , he will be back soon ! now eat zoya ! you hardly eat anything these days ..

so zoya , are you ready for tonight ? najma came and asked her , just as asad walked in !

whats tonight najma ? zoya enquired !

zoyaaa , najma looked fake shocked ! tonight is your walima ! im soo excited ! you and bhaijaan should wear matching colours ! ok bhaijaan ! najma went and hugged asad , who didnt bother to look at zoya !

of course najma , i will co ordinate with zoya , but do me a favour , will you ? please invite ayaan and his wife for tonight ! im sure zoya would love to see them ! and he walked off ...

asad sat in his bedroom ! tonight will be a day zoya never forget ! zoya will wish she never met me ! and asad smiled a develish smile !

CHAPTER 8

i want to thank everyone for attending asad and zoyas walimah .. please remember them in your duas and pray for their happiness to last forever ... dilshaad ended her speech and led the guest outside to the garden to enjoy the buffet of food ..

asad watched zoya as she talked to noora and her parents who had arrived just in time for the walima , noora introduced her parents to asad - who they dont really like for some unknown reason and noora dropped a huge bomb on them , she would be getting married soon to her college friend from mumbai ! noora was happy with this as he was her parents choice and he was definitely her type who wouldnt mind her working after marriage so she readily agreed , zoya was happy for her as well , and she felt asads gaze on her , he was cold to her as usual but she had an uneasy feeling like he was planning something big , and he planned to use ayaan as well , who was standing with humeira in one corner of the room talking to some relatives , it was no doubt they both were uncomfortable in this enviroment , ayaan had only attended bcoz humaira insisted but he knew asad was angry with him and he was afraid to meet asads eyes bcoz of the guilt !

all the guest had poured out to the garden , noora was dragging zoya outside but her head was paining so she made up an excuse of needing to use the bathroom and she escaped to the room for a 5 min break from the guests .. so noora being her cheerful self left zoya alone and went to grab humeira and before she left she turned to ayaan and said , go and meet your brother ayaan , ill be outside .. ayaan watched as humaira left and he turned to meet asad who was ushering the last few guests outside ..

asad , can we talk ?- ayaan asked

and asad smild his cold smirk smile , what a co incidence ! i was just going to ask the same from you ayaan ! so tell me ayaan , my little brother ! what do you want ?

ayaan was taken aback by asads hateful voice , .. i just wanted to wish you and zoya a happy married life and apologise as well - i know we cant forget these 2 years but i hope we can move on and forget it ..

MOVE ON ! asad almost shouted and at the same time zoya walked out of the room and she stopped in her tracks - a fear growing in her seeing asad and ayaan together - she turned to leave but a hand grabbed her and she was being pulled by asad ! he walked all the way back to ayaan and pushed her on ayaan !

wow ! asad started , you want me to move on with your hand me down ayaan ? i will tell you the same thing i told zoya , my only purpose for living is to hate zoya ! and he laughed as ayaan stood silently and tears rolled down zoyas eyes ..

both of you betrayed me ! zoya was supposed to be mine and you left me with no explnaion ! truthfully i dont want zoya ! i just married her to make ammi happy but ayaan , since she chose you 1st , feel free to come and use her any time and before he could continue a voice shouted ,

ASAD , HOW CAN YOU TALK ABOUT YOUR WIFE SO RUDELY ? dilshaad screamed !

zoya couldnt handle it anymore , and she ran to the room and locked herself inside !

ayaan stood in shock - obviously his brother had a right to be angry with him but he never expected so much hatred for zoya - if anyone then asad should be more angry at him as he couldnt look after zoya properly !

ayaan walked up to asad and said , bhaijaan i think you need to get the truth from zoya but i can promise you one thing ! in the one year that i was married to zoya - she never let me touch her or come close to her ! we always slept in separate beds , bhaijaan whatever happened between zoya and i was more a deal than a marriage and zoya was ready to return to you that day but even i dont know why she stayed ! i just know she asked me to go on with this fake marriage as a way of protecting you and that you could never know our secret , but bhaijaan she doesnt derserve this hate - this is why im telling you ! zoya is an untouched woman - i promise you !

asad stood like a statue trying to process what ayaan had just told him - and a million questions ran through his mind ! was it true ? was this another trick that ayaan was playing on him ! asad fell on the chair and dilshaad who was listening to all this came an touched asads shoulder ,and she turned to ayaan - thank you ayaan for speaking the truth but i think i need to speak to asad alone - i am the only one who can answer his questions and she touched ayaans cheek and motioned with her eyes for him to leave -

ayaan left and dilshaad knelt on her knees and held her sons hand ! asad i know you are confused right now .. but everything ayaan told you is true ! zoya and him were never true husband and wife !

asad looked to dilshaad - ammi you knew and didnt tell me ! how ?

no beta - i just found out the night before your nikaah ! zoya came and told me everything ..

flashback

phupi - zoya knocked on the door and walked in the room - i need to talk to you !

of course come in zoya and she came and hugged zoya - im soo happy you are marrying asad ! buts whats wrong zoya ? you look disturbed !

i am phupi ! im very worried ! and i cant hide it any longer ! asad said he wants to put the past behind us but i need to tell the truth to you phupi ! i need to tell you why i chose ayaan !

zoya , i dont need to know ! asad and i are accepting for who you r ! your past doesnt matter to us !

but it does matter to me ! especially since im the daughter of the man who took raashid abbu from you ! my father is gaffur siddique ! and i am ashamed of him phupi ! and zoya narrated to dilshaad the moment ayaan asked her to stay and how she refused and she left the room to clear her head and she met badi b who told her to think again before she left the house - she told phupi how badi b was emotionally balckmailing her to try and make her stay but zoya kept firm on returning to asad and then badi b revealed to zoya that zoyas father was none other than gaffur ! and badi b asked to stay with ayaan and she will also b close to her father ! but at that moment zoya realised that more than being close to her father she wanted to return to asad so she refused and told badi b asad was more important to her and she left to pack the rest of her stuff !

zoya ! dilshaad was in shock - but if you refused badi b then how did you end up staying there !

phupi i stayed there to protect asad ! i was returning back to my room and i decide to walk past gaffur siddiques room just to look at him as my father and i heard him talking to razia about me ! phupi he knew i was his daughter ! he always knew ! and then i heard him say , dont worry razia , once zoya divorces ayaan - all zoyas trust fund money from her mother will become mine ! and once i have all this money i will have enough money to buy out asad ahmed khans customers ! and he wont even see it coming !

and thats when i realised i couldnt back out of the marriage phupi ! and i knew if i told asad he would go crazy on that family !and i was scared he would hate me more after knowing who my father was ! i got straight on the phone with a lawyer and he told me that till i was 25 my father had full right on my trust fund and thats why i stayed with ayaan for one year - it was all to protect asad !

asad sat in shock as ammi narrated this whole incident to him ! and he felt this rage build up again in him - all he could think was murder ! he wanted to go to that house and burn everyone ! dilshaad calmed him down ! asad we have to cut them out of our lives .. you cant focus on them - zoya did all this to protect you !

but why ammi - why did she have to do this all alone ? why couldnt she come to me ? asad rubbed his forehead !

asad - i know you want answers but its time you move on ! and im sure zoya will give them to you as time goes on ! but now you know the truth , let go of the hate and focus on zoya ! i know under all that hate , you still love her !

no way ammi ! zoya and i are past love ! i cant love her like i did before ! its over between us ! i stopped loving zoya the day she left !

really asad ? is that why your best friend noora is a carbon copy of your old zoya ! the dressing , the cheerfulness and bright smile ! in two years you have driven everyone away but managed to bcum bestfriends with noora ! do you know why that is asad ! its bcoz you saw zoya in her ! you never stopped loving zoya and you never will asad ! bcoz no matter how much you try to show this hate ! i am your mother and i know you ! you are still in love with zoya !

ammi words played in asads mind and he wanted to refuse it , but was it true ? could he still love zoya ! he knew from yesterday , the attraction was still there ! but love ? and then ammi said ,

maybe you are right asad ! maybe you cant love zoya anymore bcoz your old zoya is dead !

asad turned sharply to his ammi and asked dead ? what do you mean ?

ammi turned away from him and her voiced turned sombre , asad while hating zoya you havent noticed she isnt your zoya anymore ! living in Siddique mansion has destroyed her ! she never smiles , never fights with anyone , even you ! has she tried arguing baack at you even once asad ! she is gone weak asad - i have to force her to eat ! she has lost the love for life and living asad ! even her dressing has changed from jeans to salwaar ! does it matter to you asad ! do you still care asad !

and dilshaad walked away leaving asad to ponder over what ammi had said ! and he realised she was right ! zoya had changed , but he still loved her ! he could feel it in himm ! underneath all that hate there was a part of him that never stopped loving her ! and that part of him wanted to fight for her ! he wanted his old zoya back and he was going to make sure his bubbly jeans clad zoya was going to return !

zoya sat in the room , deeply hurt by what asad had said about her to ayaan .. she couldnt take it anymore ! and she heard the room door opening and asad walked up to her and said zoya , ! but before he could talk zoya interrupted and said ! im glad you had fun with me mr khan ! but you know what mr khan , i wish i never ever came to india ! i wish i never met you and your family ! i wish i could go back to my old life in new york !

asad stood still after zoyas outburst ... he knew what he said and did to her was disgusting .. he went closer to her and said zoya im sorry ammi told me everything, and he went to touch her but zoya stepped away from him !

dont touch me mr khan ! i want you to stay away from me ! do you understand ! i will stay in my old room tonight with noora ! and she walked to the door but before she could leave she stopped and turned to look at asad ,

you know what mr khan , all i ever wanted was to be married to you but you ruined the one dream i had left ! you broke my heart mr khan ! and she left the room !

asad sat down on the bed disgusted and angry at himself ! but as he sat there the words of his mother and zoya echoed in his head .."she never smiles , never fights with anyone , - i have to force her to eat ! she has lost the love for life and living asad ! even her dressing has changed from jeans to salwaar "

and asad made a promise to himself and zoya .. i promise you zoya ! i will bring back all the happiness for you ! i will bring back by old zoya !

next morning

najma and imraan had taken the baby out for a morning walk , noora was with her parents looking over some wedding details ..

dilshaad knew zoya slept in her old room but she didnt want to disturb her so she left the breakfast out and went upstairs leaving asad to eat alone ..

asad was worried about zoya and her health . he wanted to know if she was ok ? ammi was angry with him ,and he didnt know who else to ask ? he decided to take some jam toast for zoya to her room ! but at that same moment zoya walked out dressed in her drabby salwaars - her eyes were puffy and red and when she saw asad she turned to leave when asad stopped her and said , umm zoya im done you can eat , ammi has left some jam toast for you ,im going in my room you dont have to leave .. but before he left he went to zoya and held her hand , i want to apologise again zoya , im really sorry ,but zoya pulled her hand away and turned her body away from him and asad left !

2 days later ..

asad was getting fustrated ! he tried apologising to zoya so many times but she just ignored him and stayed away from him ! he could hardly get anytime with her since she was still staying in nooras room ! so he decide its time she moves back in his room ! and the determind asad walked to the room and without knocking walked in and went staright to zoya who was reading a book ! he pulled her up from the bed , held her in his arms and walked straight to his room !

zoya was in shock and so flustered ! what had just happend ! whilst in asads room he put her down and she turned to see him smirking at her !

she had not talked to him for 2 days , and she knew he was challenging her ! she was fighting within herself not to talk to him ! she had to be strong so she just gave him a blank stare and kept quiet !

zoya ! how long will you keep this up ! i know you want to fight me ! i know you want to asks whats wrong with me and why did i bring you here ! im waiting zoya !but she kept silent ! asad wanted to hear her saying allah miya whats wrong with you ! he wanted her to tell him all that was wrong with him ! he was on his 1st mission to get old zoya back ! the zoya who fights with him for everything but it was proving tougher than he thought ! zoya was stubborn and she was still not speaking to him !

zoya had enough , she was leaving this room ! when asad pulled her back and said ! theres no way you can hide zoya , noora needs her room , she asked me to tell you as she didnt want to hurt your feelings ! and since we are married , whats wrong with staying in our room ? zoya was caught in a corner ! did noora really want her room back or was asad saying this just to get her bac with him ! she left the room without a word and decided to ask noora herself if what asad said was true !

asad knew zoya will ask noora so he dialled noora and asked her to go along and she happily agreed , and asad added one more part to his plan , which he needed nooras help !

later that afternoon , zoya sat on the couch waiting for noora to arrive who was out shopping with her parents , asad came out of his room and saw zoya waiting and he smirked , laughing at her innocence ! zoya glared at him and he couldnt help but go towards her and sit next to her , just to irratate her !

he started whisling and annoying zoya who wanted to scream at him ! but luckily noora arrived just in time !

salaam zoya and asad ! im so tired ! soo much shopping ! and she rattled on about what she did the whole day !

noora , zoya interuppted .. i wanted to know if you really want me out of the room ?

umm , noora looked down embarrased , im sorry zoya , its just that i will b staying here till my wedding in two weeks and i need the room for all my clothes and wedding stuff ! and since u and asad are together you have his room right ? she looked hopefully at zoya !

asad had to admit , noora was a great actoress , he could see zoya knew she had no option but to move back in with him ! and then he motioned to noora with his eyes to ask what he told her !

asad ? you know i have a few friends coming over tonight for a pool party and i needed your help with something !

sure what is it ? asad asked

umm , you see i told my friends you have the best 6 pack ever so would you mind just coming over once to show them ?

oh no i dont mind at all ! as long as zoya doesnt mind as well ! do you mind zoya ? and he turned to look at her !

zoya coughed , did she hear right ? did noora ask asad to show off his 6 packs to her friends ! and asad was asking if she minded ! ughh why was he doing this to her ! she didnt answer and just walked of !

later that evening ..

zoya was in asads room getting ready for the party for nooras friends ! she kept thinking if asad was really going to be shirtless the whole party ! but why should it bother her ! and she shook her head and wass applying her kajal when asad walked out of the bathroom in a light blue jeans and a white shirt which was open and his 6 packs were open for everyone to see !

how do i look zoya ? do you think nooras friends will like me ? let me go ask noora and asad was at the door when zoya shouted ,

allah miya whats wrong with you mr khan ! you are a grown man and you want to parade you 6 packs for everyone to see ! dont you have any shame ! plase button up you shirt !

and asad smiled ! 1 part of zoya was back !

but zoya , noora asked me ! i dont think i can say no to her , im going out to show her !

excuse me mr khan ! im your wife and im asking you not ot leave it open and she came to him and started buttoning up his shirt !

oh really zoya ! so i shouldnt wear this bcoz my wife asked me not to ? and then zoya realised what she had said ! actually , mr khan ,umm i was actually umm, thinking that phoopi wont like it and she turned to move away from him but her scarf had got stuck to his button and it pulled her back to him with such force that they both fell onto the bed !

asads hands immediatly wrapped around zoyas waist , and her hair was sprawled over his face and he loved her smell ! zoya placed both her hands on asads chest and tried to push him away but he was to strong for her and she fell back on him ! she lfted her face and looked directly into his eyes , thsi happened to them so many times before but it felt like it was the first time .. all the memories came rushing back to both asad and zoya ! and asad moved a strand of hair from her face .. all that love between them ,it never dissapeared and zoya felt his heart beating faster as he moved his face closer to hers , and she wanted to respond but she couldnt and she turned her face away , i cant asad , she whispered ! it hurts too much ! i just cant and she moved away from him and left the room to help noora !

CHAPTER 10

Nooras Party...

noora had invited all her friends to come to india to celebrate her wedding .. most of her friends were staying in a hotel and were really excited to experience a traditional muslim wedding .. noora entertained her guests and she called asad over to her as he knew her friends as well ..

asad was not in a party mood .. zoya may have let a little of her anger dissapear and she fought a little with him . but she was still ignoring him ,, he spoke a little with all his and nooras friends and excused himself to go and check on zoya .. he searched for her and found her yawning and walking to their room ,, asad called out to her but she started walking faster .. asad caught up with her and pulled her hand to stop her !

ouch ! mr khan ! that hurt and she rubbed her wrist .. asad took her hand and he wasnt happy .. she was so frail and he hated that she never took care of herself ..

zoya struggled to remove her hand from asads but he held on tighter and asked her .. did you eat anything tonight ?

excuse me mr khan but thats none of your business ! and yes i did eat ! now let go of me ! zoya ordered

i will let go zoya .. but tell me 1st what did you eat !

asad ! let go of me ! i can take care of myself and she pushed him with her free hand but asad pulled her into their room .. closed the door and pinned her to the door ..

mr khan what are you doing ? zoya was shocked

im worried about you zoya ! i know youre lying ! you never eat anything .. let me get you some food ! asad lifted his hand to caress zoyas face but a sharp jerk and zoya turned her face away !

thank you so much mr khan ! but i dont need your concern ! i am fine ! just leave me alone and with a final push she got out from asads grip and walked to the bathroom !

next morning

zoya woke up to an empty bed .. she and asad slept on the same bed but there was a barrier of pillows between them ! zoya got dressed in a dull green and brown salwaar and went to help phupi with breakfast ..

good morning zoya - dilshaad looked up and smiled at zoya .. she was happy to see her son and daughter in law .. sleeping in the same room .. she knew all was not well but she had a gift for them that would help bring them closer .

everyone was settled at the breakfast table and asad and zoya ignored each another as usual ..

noora was talking non stop about her wedding plans and left suddenly to take a call .. and dilshaad took that moment to tell asad and zoya about her gift !

ammi are you serious ! PARIS ! ..asad asked !

yes beta .. that is the destination for zoya and your honeymoon !

but phupi , zoya was flustered ! you didnt have to !

cmon zoya ! no complaints ! you both will leave in two weeks straight after nooras wedding ! no backing down ! and dilshaad smiled the smile of champion !

zoya and asad sat in silent shock ! zoya was thinking of a way to get out of her honeymoon ! and asad was planning ! he had two weeks to get his zoya back and grant her- her final wish !

noora came and sat down with a sigh ! can you believe my parents ! i need to go shopping - i am stressed with all my wedding plans and they decide to have a spa day ! i have so much things to do ! noora sighed again

zoya smiled at noora and dilshaad came up with a plan ! no worries noora , tell me what you need to do and i will handle all the wedding odds and ends and asad will take you and zoya shopping !

really ! thank you dilshaad aunty ! noora got up and hugged her !

noora and zoya , be ready in 15 minutes asad said and he went to attend to a phone call !

while noora got her shopping list - zoya walked up to phupi and said ! phupi why do i have to go with ? i dont want to shop !

zoya ! you are a married woman now ! you need new clothes ! if you dont want to dress up for asad , at least dress up for yourself ! i hate seeing you hide underneath these drabby and baggy clothing !

but phupi !

zoya .. at least try ! for me dilshaad asked ! and zoya hugged her ! she really missed her phupi !

asad watched the 2 woman hugging and he was going to make sure he got zoya to dress up ! for both ammi and zoya !

at the mall

1 hour went to picking up all the clothing , shoes and bags that noora had ordered ! asad had left all the shopping bags in the car and met zoya and noora in one of the shop.. noora was off doing her own thing .. and asad followed zoya and he kept suggesting to her clothing that he liked for her and she rejected everyone of them !

zoya please ! i know i hurt you ! but i really am trying ! if not for me then but some clothes for ammi ! she will be really happy !

just then a lady who worked in the shop walked up t them and said , excuse me miss would you like to see our new range of Guess jeans ? they arrived yesterday !

thats perfect ! asad exclaimed .. come zoya we will start with the jeans

no thank you , zoya nodded to the lady and started walking away when she heard asad say ,

my wife is a little shy - you see she has picked up a little weight so shes afraid nothing might fit her ! and a furious zoya turned to see asad smirk a little and the jeans lady innocently said , its ok sir we have big sizes for your wife !

asad let out a little chuckle and zoya walked up to him and almoust shouted ! are you calling me fat mr khan ! ill show you ! i can fit into these jeans and show you i did not get fat ! have you no shame calling a woman fat ! and she walked of with the jeans lady to try on the jeans !

few mins later she came out wearing a black skinny jeans and a gold long sleeved top ! asad was mesmerised when he saw her ! he knew she was beautiful .. but she had a truimphant smile on her face ! she had proved him wrong and she looked like an angel ! he loved seeing her like that !

there you go mr khan ! im not fat ! a small advice . never call me fat again and she poked his chest !

asad smiled at her and she smiled back ! so are we taking it ? asad asked

yes we are ! and a few other things as well ! zoya ordered !

asad paid for everything and zoya walked out wearing the same jeans and top !

noora called to say she would be mmet them at home as she was on her way to see her parents !

asad and zoya walked to his car and zoya waled eith him silently and asad turned to see her walking slowly and he sensed something was wrong ..

he put the shopping bags in his car and turned to ask zoya what was wrong ?

im wearing jeans mr khan ! its been 2 years and i did lose myself somewhere .. and i want to hate you so much for everything you did , but i cant ignore that you have helped me also ! thank you for all the clothes and helping me find this part of myself again !

zoya was feeling awkward .. and asad stared at her .. they didnt know if they should say more to each another or hug , so asad just smiled at her and then something knocked his head !

he felt a sharp pain and zoya screamed ! 2 men appeared from behind him and pinned him to his car ! zoya tried to run to him but another man came and held her back and covered her mouth ! and she saw something that brought fear in her eyes ..

3 more men walked towards them and one had a cricket bat ! they came directly to asad and punched him the stomach ! he tried fighting back but they held him tighter ! the man with the bat hit his leg and asad screamed ! tears were escaping zoyas eyes ! she could feel his pain ! she needed to go to him !

another hit to asads other leg and he was down on his knees ! .. they punched asad again and again ! he tried again to break free but they pushed him down ! and then the man with the bat whispered ! dont worry , we dont want you .. we came for her and they loked at zoya !

fear grew in asads eyes ! dont you dare touch her ! he screamed and he watched as 1 man walked to zoya nad touched her face ! zoya closed her eyes and flinched in disgust ! the other man came and touched her arm and he tore her sleeve ! then the man with the bat walked towards her and said ! i want my turn also and he was bending down to kiss her and asad broke free ! every muscle in his body was filled with energy , his eyes filled with hate and terror !he pushed the 2 men off him>> they came at him ,, he kicked and punched them ! the other two men rushed at him ! he pushed one of them into a car window and stabbed the other man with a piece of glass ! the man holding zoya backed away , scared of asad , but the man with the bat was ready to fight ! he held his bat and took a swing at asad .. asad ducked , grabbed the bad and started bashing him ! i told you not to touch her he screamed .. and he kept beating that man ! nobody touches her ! zoya was shocked ! she had never seen asad like this and dhe had to stop him before he went too far !

she ran to him and grabbed his arm .. please asad its enough! but he ignored her and carried on ! he wasnt listening and then she hugged him from behind ! holding tightly onto him .. asad please ! lets go ! asad dropped the bat .. held tightly onto zoya as she took him away ! zoya looked at him ! her hatred melting ! he would do anything for her ! she still loved him !

back home , dilshaad was taking care of asad ! she checked on zoya who didnt have any injuries .. but asad was bad .. the doctor said the injuries left alot of bruising so he needed a few days rest !

dilshaad sat by asad ! why would anyone do this ! who would want to hurt the both of you ?

zoya knew that answer ! there was only one person cruel enough to do this to asad ! her father !

CHAPTER 11

3 days later

asad was feeling much better , however he was restricted to bedrest by his ammi ,noora and zoya .. as he thought of zoya .. he wondered where she was ? she only checked on him once or twice .. was she avoiding him ... everytime he got up to see her ..there was always someone who stopped him from leaving his room .. zoya was sleeping in his ammis room as they wanted asad to recover quickly .. ammi said it was best for him ,, but he had a suspicious feeling that it was all zoyas idea .. he was snapped out of his thoughts by noora who burst into his room with some green cream on her face and curlers in her hair !

ASAD ! i hope you are better now .. its been 3 days and you know today is my sangeet ceremony .. i need you to be there and dance ! one of my friends was supposed to do a romantic act but they have some urgent work so im going to need my best friend and step in and dance .. with zoya .. ok ! noora ordered

but .. asad stammered ..

no buts Asad ! i need your help and you are going to refuse me ! your best friend .. she asked sadly ..

asad took her hand and comforted her .. ok noora ill come up with something and just then zoya walked past and stopped ansd she saw asad holding nooras hand and the was a twinge of jealousy in her ! asad saw the look in her eyes and more loudly exclaimed anything for you noora and he saw zoya walking in the room and she stared angrily at asad who quickly pulled his hand away ... but he loved that zoya was jealous .. it proved to him that she could maybe still have feelings for him !

good afternon zoya .. asad smiled at her but zoya gave him the cold shoulder and turned to noora ..

noora will you please tell phupi that i will meet everyone at the function hall for the sangeet ceremony tonight .. i have some important work and i need to go out ..

noora agreed to tell phupi and left the room to remove her face mask .. zoya was leaving when she heard asad groan and turned to see him walking to her ..

she walked quickly to him and said .. allah miya , whats wrong with you mr khan .. u still have bruises .. you can dance all you want but plz rest for now ..

asad tightened his grip on zoyas hand and as she turned to walk away ..he pulled her back and asked .. so now you are worried about me ? where were you the past 3 days ? you really dont care ? asad asked sincerely ..

zoya felt tears welling in her eyes .. she couldnt tell mr khan the truth..not now .. she didnt see him those 3 days because she felt guilty ! after hiring a private investigator who found out the same day that it was definitely her father who hired those men to attack her and asad ! zoya knew if she told him the truth his anger would lead him to doing crazy things ! she was going to handle it ..

zoya looked upto asad and touched his cheek so softly and asad tilted his head to feel the warmth of her hands and he was lost in her eyes.. she looked scared and defiant at the same time ..

please let me go asad .. i have some work .. asad wanted to fight her but it was like he had no control .. she ordered and he obeyed .. so he let her go without getting an answer to his question ...

zoya left .. today was the day she was going to make sure that her father never troubled her or asad again ..

meanwhile asad was on the phone with prasad ..yes prasad you heard right ..i want you to have someone follow my wife and i want to know what she is upto !

at the sangeet ceremony

asad stood at the door with noora .. everyone was having turns to stand with noora and her fiance ahmed .. it was asads turn to do the honours .. just then noora introduced asad to Haider Sheik .. he is the man who loaned me the money to help you keep your company .. asad shook his hand and he turned to noora confused ! but you told me it was from your savings .. noora bit her lip .. im sorry asad .. i had to lie ..else you would have never used the money .. but noora asad was annoyed !

lets talk later please asad ! im busy with my guests .. noora escaped .. grateful she had the excuse to hide from asads questions ! asad was about to run after her when someone tapped his shoulder and he turned around only to be mesmerized by the sight in front of him !

ZOYA ! she had a bright smile on her face .. her eyes were full of joy and they twinkled .. he couldnt look away ! she was dressed in a yellow saree with a red lace border ...good evenng mr khan ..she looked at him expecting a reply but he couldnt reply !

would you like to say something mr khan ! zoya teased him .. am i not looking exceptionally beautiful tonight ?

asad went a shade red .. he tried to loosen his collar and he stammered .. woh ..actually !

zoya giggled.. not again mr khan ! and she linked her arm with his .. our dance will be soon mr khan .. we are doing the romantic act .. and she pulled himto the crowd of people !

asad felt guilty for checking up on zoya so he told prasad .. dont worry prasad ! zoya was probably out shopping !

asad was angry ! what was zoya doing at siddique mansion ? why would she even look at that place and she went there for the whole afternoon ! he needed to know why she was there and he set out to search for her .. when noora came up behind him ...

enjoying the party asad ? she asked .. im realy tired but i needed to talk to you about haider .. there is something you should know and we need to investigate ! the money he gave me was not just any loan ! someone specifically asked him to give you the money ! but i dont know who !

asad wasnt bothered with noora .. he looked at her with a glance and said .. can we talk about this tomorrow please noora ! i need to find zoya and he left a worried noora to think about haider and the money ..

asad searched for zoya but she was nowhere to be found .. he was starting to get worried .. what if something happened to her ? what if she was attacked again .. when najma who spotted her brother saw the fear in his eyes and she touched his shoulder .. bhaijaan i saw zoya going out onto the terrace .. asad was embarrassed that now even his sister knew his eyes only searched for zoya .. he walked to the terrace door and he saw her back facing him .. he walked slowly -planning to surprise her when he heard her laugh and realised she wasnt alone ! he walked closer and saw her hugging someone .. a fire raged in him .. he hated the thought of any other man touching her ! he clenched his fist and his jealousy raged even more when he saw the man she was hugging ..was that haider sheikh ! it took all of asads control not to burst through that doors and break the hands that touched zoya ! he was going to leave when he saw haider pass zoya something and all asad knew was that it was silver .. was it a ring ? was it jewellery ! asad wanted to know ! but he turned away and gave zoya her space ! he would ask her later and he hoped she would tell him the truth !

zoya ! dilshaad called .. its late zoya .. asad will take you home .. i will be staying over by najma and noora will be at her parents hotel tonight so you and asad will be alone .. make sure you lock the door and call me if you need anything .. and please make sure that asad cleans his wounds and takes his tables ..dilshaad kissed zoyas forehead and left .. zoya searched for asad and found him standing at the door .. he looked really handsome and she smiled as he looked at his watch .. she walked to him and touched his arm .. shall we leave mr khan ? he nodded and she startred walking when asad pulled her back to face him ..

where did you go this afternoon zoya ? zoya was confused why was he asking her this ..

no zoya , i want to know !

zoya coughed and nervously said .. i went to the tailor mr khan ! how else woud i have found this beautiful saree .. and anyway why should you worry about me .. now cmon mr khan !

asad felt betrayed ! she still didnt trust him ...

asad walked into the house and zoya followed .. she knew something was bothering mr khan ! he was silent the whole ride back and he wasnt even looking at her ..

i have some work to do .. ill be in my room if you need anything ,,he said curtly to zoya and walked away ..

zoyas eyes stung with tears ! she didnt like this feeling of being ignored by him .. she was going to find out whats wrong and make it all right !

30 mins later

zoya walked into asads room -in her pink and white pjs and a black mug with mr khans coffee ,,

he was sitting near his window so she placed the mug next to him but he completely ignored her ! zoya ignored him back and went to fetch the 1st aid kit to clean the wound on his shoulder ..

zoya sat down next to asad and started removing the bandage , when asad jerked his hand away and stared at her angrily and zoya stared back and continued removing the bandage ,and again asad tried to move her away whe zoya angrily exclaimed ! stop it mr khan , whats wrong with you , you are hurt ,,im just trying to fix it !

and what about the pain i have from your lies ! and the pain i have to see you with that haider ! how will you remove that pain !

zoya stood up in shock ! how did asad know about haider !

you are delusional mr khan ! i have never lied to you and i dont know any haider !

enough ! asad stood up and grabbed zoya by her shoulders ! no more lies between us zoya ! i want to know the truth !

mr khan please ! zoya pleaded !

asad tightened his grip on zoya and pushed her against the wall .. he rested his forehead on hers and looked in her eyes , his pain mirrored in hers !

i know you went back to THAT house today ! i need to know why ! please zoya i promise wont be angry ! why did you go there ..

zoya looked up at asad and all her secrets were ready to be revealed .. she couldnt lie anymore ! she needed to tell him the truth !

she held his hand and started ...

i went there to warn my father for the last time mr khan ! he was the man behind our attack the other day mr khan ! he wants to hurt me ,and he wants to ruin you ! and its all my fault !

why zoya ! why would he do that to you ? he is your father !

yes , he is my father but only in name ! he never wanted me ! he only wanted my money that my mother left for me ! and when i found out that he wanted to use my money to destroy you and buy out your company .. i had to stop him !

what ! asad was shocked ! the company in india was your fathers !

yes ! and haider was an accountant in his firm ! he helped me transfer the funds to you ! i dont know how he did it but he made sure my money reaches you ! i had hurt you by staying back with ayaan ! this was the only way i could help you asad ! and when my father learned about it , he made it a mission to destroy you and me ! so today i met him to tell him that if he tried it again , i would report him and his company to the police ! haider gave me a flash disk today with all the proof ! im sorry asad ! its all my fault and she rested her head on his chest and cried !

asad could not believe she did this all for him ! he engulfed her in a hug !

he whispered in her ear ! i cannot thank you enough for what you did zoya ! i hate that i wasnt there for you ! zoya felt relaxed after a long time like a huge burden was lifted of her ! she rested her head on asad and soon fell asleep after a long time ! asad picked her up and placed her on his bed and covered her .. he was leaving when her hand tightened on his ,, he let her hold his hand and he settled himself on the other side of his bed .. asad looked at her and tears formed in his eyes .. he was going to have to let her go very soon ! nooras wedding day would be the last time she saw him and a tear dropped from asads eyes !

Sunlight found its way to Asad's bed . Rays touched Asad's face as if kissing his smiling face . There was a sweet smile on Asad's face .
(No prizes for guessing , obviously he was dreaming about Zoya .)

Asad opened his one eye , and turned to the table to see the time . It was 6 am . Today was Sunday , but still he had an important work to do . Asad was feeling lazy . He turned to the other side of the bed .

There he saw Zoya sleeping , with a sweet smile on her face . Her one hand was tightly holding his one of the hands . There was a slight frown on her face , as one of the hair locks was disturbing her sleep . Asad tucked her hair behind her ears using his other hand which was free . He stared at her beautiful face . She was like energy pills for him . Just one look at her face and all his laziness vanished .

Asad decided to get ready fast . He tried to get up from his bed , but couldn't . Zoya was holding his hands . She had not woke up totally , but was conscious now . She hold Asad's hand , using both her hands .
"Aaj Sunday hai , Mr Khan "

Asad looked at her smiling .
"Meri ek important meeting hai , Zoya "
"Par aaj Sunday hai"
" I promise , main ghar jaldi aa jaaunga "
"Fine" zoya said in an angry tone and returned back to her sleep .

Asad smiled at her and went to take a shower .

Asad came from his washroom . He was wearing his pant , and a towel was hung around his shoulder . He directly moved to his cupboard . He opened his cupboard , took out a shirt and wore it .
He opened a small box and took out something and stared at it .

From last four years , it was his daily routine to look at her earring . May be for a day he would have forgotten his name . But he never forgot to look at her earring before starting his day . He followed this routine most religiously .

He caught the earring between two fingers of his left hand . And he touched the earring with his right hand , and gave a faint smile .
Inspite of trying hard to hold back his tears , one drop left his eyes silently . He wiped it away , and looked at the bed , at his empty bed . Once again like always he had imagined her . She was not there .
It had been four yeras since Zoya...

It was only he who lived in that room . He looked at the wall . There was a big photo of his and Zoya from the sangeet day , when they had danced on the song Sun Zara . She looked so happy , he looked so happy . But never had that happiness returned , neither on her face , nor at his . He craved to see that hapiness on her face , but he couldn't . He himself had killed it . He had killed himself . He hated himself , but still he had to live . He had to live for his family , for her ...
He wanted to punish himself . He wanted to be hanged to death , but he knew that the punishment he had got was the worst . No other punishment could have pained him as much as his condition presently . According to him , he deserved that punishment .
