This post is amazing! Just loved what you have written. The transition of Aahil from Hero to Zero! Well not quite Zero but something like 1.5! I mean come on... The thing that attracted me to this show again was AAHIL! I call him Meri Jaan, Mera Pyaar! The man who inspired me to write again! So in love was I with Aahil Raza Ibrahim and KV as Aahil that I even changed my DP from Barun and Sanaya as Arnav and Khushi to KV and SJ as Aahil and Sanam. So crazy was I for Aahil!
KV sold Aahil to me like I never thought it would be possible. Initially I was just curious about Aahil. He was so unlike most other soap hero's. Clearly a work hard play hard sort of guy and totally unapologetic and irreverent. Anger didn't seem to be his driving force?? Devil may care seemed to be? His look was unconventional. He did big business deals but he was not wearing three piece suits. He had his own style. Edgy look, and he really rocked the sunglasses, the stubble and the haircut! Half naked most of the time...He was just COOL! Very few soap hero's are "Cool!"But there was more to him! He was a devoted son, a loving brother, a harassed relative. A smart and savvy business man. A loyal friend (Nida) and he also seemed to have a close connection with his adopted brother cum right hand man Rehan? He also was a cool boss to his transgender man Friday, who CLEARLY had the hots for him?? LolThen came Sanam! The game changer. The one who made Aahil go from cool guy to Diljale Ashiq! What a transition? I just watched GLUED to my screen while Aahil grappled with his feeling for Miss Dhabewali? Was heartbroken when he thought she loved someone else? Resigned to his fate for a loveless marriage for his Mother and family's sake to inherit his Father's money! He was pretty much being sacrificed for the good of all! He was going to do it too! You feel for him. Even in the last moments going to the Nikah Mandap, he is thinking of that girl from Punjab with the long braid and strong personality! Someone so unlike the girls he usually hangs around with? But one who had a dangerous hold over his senses! You know this has got to be love!!I have to say, I was totally SEDUCED by this performance! It was gripping. Then he marries her and tries to come to terms with the fact that he is just a husband of convenience to the women he fell for? She is his wife, but not his wife? I loved this whole phase!
Then he starts to see that she cares about him. The love starts to bloom again. He starts to accept and maybe hope she feels the same way about him? He starts to give into his feelings? Finally he is ready to tell her he loves her and hear it from her as well? Despite the poisoning from his Mother and the set back received, he puts his heart on the line and tells Sanam he loves her. He wants a real marriage! THEN comes the terrible turn. The turn where Aahil went from a character I could not take my eyes off, to someone I just want to close my eyes when I see! NOT because KV is giving a bad performance, but coz he has been reduced to a hapless VICTIM now! He is in love, and yes he is trying to justify Sanam. The issues they had right before the Kohinoor launch is making him blind to the truth. He thinks this is ALL because he once rejected her and didn't want to give into his feelings? They are not making him think beyond that because that is what they want him to do!But the CV's forget that a hero is always supposed to be a HERO?? If he starts acting like a blind fool ALL the time then people feel disenchanted! But I STILL hold hope for KV's sake that he gets to be AAHIL the LOVER again. Well he still IS Aahil the lover! Let's see how he plays a scorned lover?? Should be good if they handle it well! Because a rejection is coming. Because this women is NOT his wife. So at some point she will do something which will appear as an irrevocable rejection to him and his heart will break!I am waiting to see KV play the heartbroken Aahil! The scorned lover. Until Sanam comes back to his life and he realises what actually happened. Or maybe he will be allowed to be the hero and actually SAVE the day?? Let's hope the CV's amaze us??

Thanks Mandy! And your detailed response is a delight to read as always! The transition of Aahil from Hero to Zero! Well not quite Zero but something like 1.5! I mean come on... Oh yes. He is dangerously close to borderline disaster. Half naked most of the time...He was just COOL! Very few soap hero's are "Cool!"This is what made me think, this will be different story with a different kind of heroBut there was more to him! LolWe got to see different dimensions of him when he interacted with his family and Lateef. gues, Lateef is another character that's not used fully. He could have become the Manorama mai of QH.Then came Sanam! The game changer. The one who made Aahil go from cool guy to Diljale Ashiq! What a transition? I just watched GLUED to my screen while Aahil grappled with his feeling for Miss Dhabewali? But one who had a dangerous hold over his senses! You know this has got to be love!!I loved his struggle when he wanted to do the right thing for Rehan and then selfishly grabs the chance to make Sanam his wife.Even the way he tried to talk to Rehan @office was good.So sensible .I have to say, I was totally SEDUCED by this performance! It was gripping. Then he marries her and tries to come to terms with the fact that he is just a husband of convenience to the women he fell for? She is his wife, but not his wife? I loved this whole phase!SaHil falling in love was one of the best i had seen in this kinda situation. There were no childish dramas and pillow barriers.Simple and practical. NOT because KV is giving a bad performance, but coz he has been reduced to a hapless VICTIM now! Exactly how i feel.He is in love, and yes he is trying to justify Sanam. I would like to see him break his heart over his real wife and not because of something the fake one doesI am waiting to see KV play the heartbroken Aahil! The scorned lover. Until Sanam comes back to his life and he realises what actually happened. Or maybe he will be allowed to be the hero and actually SAVE the day?? Let's hope the CV's amaze us?? I would love this a la Mangalpur

Everything reviewed up so well... Simran, i totally agree with you, KVB is a superb actor (proud to be his fan) but reduced to any to other soap hero🤢. The CVs are not fully utilizing his potential.

your post made me revisit all those beautiful memories of Aahil... a character thats so dear to me...
the way he started... he was never the perfect hero n thats the most beautiful thing about him... he played that imperfection to so much perfection 👏i have totally loved his journey and his transition... From the spoilt rich playboy nawab with a heart of gold to the guy so helplessly in love with an ordinary girl... There aint any measure of love but for me the fact that he was willingly changing himself for her said it all.. ( when he went to dargaah for the first time.. u can feel his soul getting purified.. it was so soulful)He realizing the only woman hes fallen in love with dont love her but she proly loves his man friday cum younger brother n rather than venting out his anger or going back to the previous self he just gave her away ... that was the masterstroke for me...Fate got them married and all that love he had hid somewhere deep in his heart just came to the surface again...there were ups n down but i never felt his character losing focus but slowly he was being neglected.. his screen space was reduced drastically n i agree he was merely brought to speak some romantic lines n no other character development...i have not lost faith in Aahil as yet... i know he is not at his best.. n i m certainly reservin g my judgement at this point of time ... i m also not happy with whats been done to the amazing character Aahil was... but i really really wish that i get my Aahil back with full force... n i m quite hopeful about that ...
