Ahil/KVs journey from hero to eye-candy to airhead, as I see.

When the leap was announced with KV as the male lead, I was happy. I was waiting to see him on a daily soap, after being bowled over by his portrayal of Viraj. I'm not a fan of negativity but KV as Viraj, made evil enchanting!

Then came Ahil, the work hard, play harder poor rich Nawab, who fought his inner demons with drinks & women. He also played a harassed parent to his warring sisters, all the while manipulated remotely by his wicked step- Mom& her bumbling cohort. He had an office. He interacted frequently with his step-brother and his loyal shemale servant. He also had a grand-mother who was locked up for decades.

Then he fell in love with a certain Dhabhewali, who is a victim of his step-Mom & she got them married. He is still the hero, who is also, a grandson, brother, Boss, businessman.

Then, he had a big Eid celebration which brought her Mom's murderous ex-souten to his mansion and his family vanished. Slowly his wife's family took over and he became just her husband. Then he became an eye-candy who just romanced the heroine with unbuttoned shirt.

Then, his wife's look-alike sister joined forces with his Mom's personal hit-woman and locked up his wife. At this point he has lost not just his heart, but his head and became yet another soap hero on Zee, who can't tell his wife from another like her. As he adjusts to her weird behaviour, while his wife rots in captivity, he emerges as the air-head,who is setting himself for the slaughter cheerfully.

Slowly, as Ahil disintegrates into yet another stupid soap hero, caught between look-alikes and surrounded by scheming women and totally clueless about the circus that's going on around him, I feel sad for the actor and the character he played with conviction in the beginning.

Part of me hopes he might get to play the passionate lover he was promised, I was sold, but then, part of me wonders would he ever get to do that?

What do you think of Ahil/Kv's journey so far?

You summed it up pretty well simran. When he first started out on this show he had so many layers to him, like a real person in real life, not just some one dimensional figure. I'm so disappointed at the way he's being portrayed right now. I mean, he doesn't even go to work right now! All he's doing right now is romancing 'sanam'. Bring back his family and let him interact with other people! It's such a shame that an actor of his caliber is relegated to just being a love interest.

Thanks Mehar.
Ahil is so unidimensional now and becoming useless as well fast.

I loved his scenes with Lateef and others. Things become repetitive, however brilliant the actor is.
His family had good potential, all lost for HaRaFa.

Sure, call me Simran. I know we all feel the same way, frustrating to see what happened to character in the last six months. Not sure what they'll do for another year.
Cvs are not interested in anybody's acting period.😆

Great post simran. Nice summary of Aahil's character.
I miss the arrogant and sharp businessman. CV's can do so much with his character. I remember in the beginning when there was a thriller epi with a business partner to strike a deal. I love that Aahil scene, a very confident businessman. But now he's just a ...prob?
I love this section:
"Slowly, as Ahil disintegrates into yet another stupid soap hero, caught between look-alikes and surrounded by scheming women and totally clueless about the circus that's going on around him, I feel sad for the actor and the character he played with conviction in the beginning."
Especially in pink 😭 .

Word dear.
We all have been cribbing about the limited role AND screen time that he is given since the eid and suddenly he is given about 5-8 min. each day but only to appear as an airhead being played by his wifes' bodydouble sister who seems to be rapidly turning into a totally different line of work these days.

If he were still shown as the shrewd businessmen as well as being the junoon lover then he would have figured this out and looked for some clues at Kohinoor and found out the two sanams roaming around in the hall for sure...

I also wish that ATLEAST Ahil gets to save Sanam mostly for the sake of Sanam because she would feel so happy that her Ahil finally came...but also so that he gets that guilt trip that he need so badly for failing Sanam so miserably.
