Hello everyone!
The day before yesterday, I watched the 504th episode of Qubool Hai and I was quite disappointed...or I'd rather say, worried. I don't know if anyone else has been feeling the same way, but the show needs to change the way it's running. Here are my thoughts and opinions about the daily soap on Zee TV. This post might look like it's really long for you, but please read it completely as it might contain the genuine feelings of many other Qubool Hai fans like me.🥱
So, what is happening to Qubool Hai? I mean, after what it used to be before and what it is now...it's definitely worth having a discussion about it with fans. First of all, here are certain issues I'd like to put forward and discuss about them separately in detail.
1. Season 1 VS Season 2
2. Aahil's character
3. The main lead - Sanam and Aahil
4. The twins - Sanam and Seher
5. The past - Asad and Zoya
6. The important characters and unnecessary parts
So here goes:
1. Season 1 VS Season 2: When the story revolved around the lives of Zoya, Asad and the other family members, QH used to be so much fun. Even without the romance between the lead couple, there was much more to look forward to and enjoy. For example, the friendship between Zoya, Dilshad and Najma, the love story of Ayaan and Humaira (which were almost like the second lead of the show), and the relation between Zoya and her father. The entire show itself had a mesmerising charm. I even liked Tanveer's character back then! No wonder the show gained excellent popularity within a short time!
But the situation now is way too different and the way it runs is just unfair to some aspects of the plot. Some characters are too irrelevent and yes, felt unnecessary by many fans. Previously, all the characters used to have reasonable importance and were good to watch. The lead couple, AsYa, was given a lot of screen space, unlike now. There isn't a proper background for the characters, not even for the leads. Well, Aahil might be a an exception, of course. I'm going to discuss about him later. But Sanam's character has lost its charm. Remember how the show used to be during the beginning of the second season? The main characters were only Sanam, Aahil, Dilshad and Haya. How Sanam used to be in Punjab, managing her dhaba and taking care of Dilshad and Haya, and looking exceptionally beautiful in her single long braid. I liked her more with her traditional one braid look of a villager. I loved how the story took a leap and reflected the lives of Sanam and Aahil, each separately given their own storylines...ah, I just feel like watching the old episodes all over again.
2. Aahil's character: Okay, is Aahil even the lead of the show??? The progress of the story seriously makes me doubt this! What was the image given to the character at the beginning? What was the impression that was made by Karanvir Bohra, through this character? Just the way Karanvir used to take the name 'Aahil Raza Ibrahim' stole millions of hearts! That was all because Karanvir was actually given a chance to have a lot of space for this character. Aahil was a character full of attitude and charm. The way he behaved with Sanam, flirted with women, chose to live life in his own way, and at the same time cared very much about his mother and sisters. He was a charming, modern, workaholic man with family and religious values. The character was one of a kind. Now, we got to see some entirely different shades of Aahil through his romantic, light-hearted, caring nature. The way he transformed from being a playboy to this caring husband is commendable, but his screen space has reduced to a great extent. The scenes in the beginning showed us more of Aahil and his personality. Now, he is seen only when there is a romantic scene with Sanam. He needs more screen space and scenes without Sanam or Tanveer. We want scenes that show us more about Aahil's individual life. There is also an intriguing past with him that can be focused on. Karanvir Bohra is a fabulous and very talented actor. The way he shows a variety of emotions on Aahil's face is too good. Romance, grief, angst, humor or his charming style, whatever it be, he is just awesome! He needs to be given more chance to perform as Aahil. He needs to be used much more, because he's the only one who can bring life to Aahil's character.😊
3. The main lead - Sanam and Aahil: Qubool Hai is supposed to be a romantic serial, right? What happened to the romance in a romantic serial? It has the potential to be an epic love saga. I'm saying this because I've seen what KSG and Surbhi gave us in season 1. Their couple was beautiful and so were their scenes together. And now, KVB and Surbhi are looking even better with their magical chemistry. Now I wonder why they haven't been cast together in season 1. Where had KV been all along? LOL! But seriously, they are the best couple on television! All we need is more screen space for SaHil. Please give the fans what they want. It is a very true fact that 90% of QH viewers watch the show only for SaHil. Qubool Hai has the capability to attract many young viewers. If more romantic scenes and modern drama is shown, there is no doubt in getting more fans, because that's what the youth wants! Only one mantra: just give us more SaHil scenes. 😊
4. The twins - Seher and Sanam: The twins need more focusing as well. They are now the main female leads of the show. Well, that is what many fans consider them to be. Both of them have their own way of life and the writers need to concentrate more on their story. Seher's character is really interesting as she is different, being a conwoman and a carefree girl. The fans would really like to know how Sanam and Seher would meet for the first time. The bonding between them is something that the viewers would appreciate. I, personally would like to see some really sweet, affectionate bonding between the twins as well as the three sisters, Sanam, Seher and Haya.
5. The past - Asad and Zoya: It is true and partially a bit sad that AsYa are no more on Qubool Hai, because they were the core couple of the show and the craze for many fans. We will never forget them and their relationship. Their death was horrible and needs to be justified...which means Tanveer should get punishment. A couple of weks ago or so, I saw Sanam being so determined to find out the truth about AsYa's death. She even got help from Rehaan, which of course led to some jealousy in Aahil' heart. But that's not the point. The point is, what happened to all that determination? Why is Sanam not trying anymore to find out about her parents? Is it because of the romantic side of Aahil that grew rapidly? He just brought a cake for Zoya's birthday and that's it, Sanam forgot about AsYa. This is one major aspect of the show, so please make Sanam start the investigation again...this time with Aahil's help. 😛Also, this investigation would get better if Seher helped Sanam too!
6. The important characters and unnecessary parts: The writers and directors need to rethink about the show's track and characters. This is my genuine opinion, because there are some really unnecessary characters and tracks, which the fans don't want. For example, everyone knows that Rahat and Faiz's track can be completely sidelined. Haya is an important character because she has a strong relation with Sanam since childhood (speaking of which, when did Haya and Sanam last meet? After Dilshad got discharged, they hadn' met again for once! Oh, please make them meet again, they have a strong sister bond). Surbhi Chandna does a great job portraying Haya, because it is a very challenging task to play a deaf and dumb girl. I really appreciate her work and even her track is fine. But Rahat and Faiz? Okay, Rahat can be alongside Haya as her love interest, but Faiz? Is he really needed? And that annoying aunt of Faiz too! Arghh, they need to be sidelined completely!😭
Meanwhile, Seher and Rehaan are the second main lead of the show, so please give them .more scenes too. And that bechara Rehaan needs some history and depth in his character, guys! All he does is manage some office work and romance Seher. Showing something about his past and childhood would be good.
Dilshad is a main character and has a hand in punishing Tanveer for her deeds. Oh, badi ammi, please recover quickly and help Sanam.
So, now the major characters are: Aahil, Sanam, Rehaan, Seher, Tanveer, Dilshad and Haya. All I would like to say is, please give more importance to these characters and please sideline unnecessary characters completely.
That's it! I guess I've babbled a bit too much, haven't I? 😛
But, I needed to do this. I had all this angst and worry about how the show would go on, because I'm a HUGE fan! So, today I thought I should post my opinion about the show for the fellow fans.
Anyway, that's all and I really hope the makers listen to me and improve the serial's story.😃
