I think the reason they do it is so you can see the color or style of the blouse which is otherwise hidden. The beige/golden blouse with the yellow sari is a beautiful color combination. You wouldn't be able to see itif it was covered or draped in the traditional way. However, sometimes it really does look tacky. I think it made somewhat sense to do it here because of the contrasting colors. BUT sometimes they use that style when the blouse is plain and is the SAME color as the sari. That I really don't get.
BTW, that picture of Sonam Kapoor look great! That style with that sari doesn't look tacky at all because it shows off the blouse beautifully. AND it doesn't look like there is one boob just sticking out.

I agree it's to show the blouse, but Sanam's pallu was pretty transparent. Also drape it some other away, then. I don't think we've seenTanveer go with this drape and we all rave about her blouses. If you gather the pallu, then it allows you to be more liberal and show more of the blouse.

And actually in some there were a few shots where the pallu was covering as it should be.

I used Sonam for an example because I couldn't think of an instance where it was the case with her
And even that example is different. It's a different type of blouse and the pallu is not right at the middle with just one boob showing. I agree she doesn't look bad at all. It also has to do with the silver blouse.

The nose ring with the little bead at the end looked like snot was hanging off her nose.

Yech...Talk about a mood-killer.

😆
I did see that, and forgot about it. it still comes off as way better and not so tacky. The blouse may be the reason. Also maybe because the drape is more open with the pallu loose and not covering the waist. And because the pallu is loose around the waist it comes off more like a dupatta
I've seen a drape of hers where the pallu twisted below her chest or something so full blouse is showing. No issues I have with that. It's not lack of covering, but how it comes off when one is left out like that.

Anyway, I just wanted to use an example to contrast and show different stylish ways of draping other than that type. This example of Sonam I feel is not really bad and it works
But yeah, I'm sure someone will find a tacky example from Sonam too now.😆

but disagree about sonam kapoor's fashion sense though 😆...may be i am the only one to find her fashion sense extremely weird 😆

I just used Sonam as an example to show how various drapes are donned by her. To show its not skin I am talking about.

And I said, since she herself the media and Bollywood consider herself a fashionista...😆 I don't think her style is weird, but it's not every day or normal wear. I like the styles she and her stylist often pick out. I do think they are fashionable.

PS...Not a fan nor hater of hers.

Have you figured it out now?😆

@fanraya, nothing to add. You said it well.

@pinks... yes Sanam can do better.

@kals and jayne...nose ring didn't bother me. Edit that. Actually, in some scenes it was distracting and bothersome the way it was hanging. The scene where she is talking to him about the girls.

Yeah they did have it properly draped during the song sequence and dori scene. I noticed it a bit later. Then it went back to that earlier drape, which is funny because that drape indeed made sense for when they were interrupted by those girls.
