Qubool Hai | Sunday Driver

We all have a notion about what Sunday is all about. At least I do. A lazy morning with tepid sun peeking through the gauzy curtains giving warmth to the room. An armchair near the window with a table beside it laden with coffee, croissant and newspaper (Of course, one has to keep abreast with what is happening in the world even if it is Sunday). Tucked amidst the cushiony softness sipping a coffee and watching the world go by (Okay the only thing visible outside the window is another building, but a girl can dream can't she?).

Then comes the reality with a laptop that has photographs that needs to be processed, videos that somehow are not getting uploaded and a blog that has "bad gateway". Screeech!!! The sound of someone braking hard outside, even on a Sunday morning because traffic in Mumbai never abets a Sunday Driver.

So, I in my work took a brake. Stopped in tracks as I came upon this picture. And it has become my Sunday Driver

It lets me take a deep breath, pausing in whatever I am doing to appreciate the sheer beauty, simplicity and romanticism of the moment captured. Okay, so I took the picture but like my mentor has said I only captured what I felt at the moment and it was something like this

To dress up in all finery, adding the finishing touch

what some might say, much ado about nothing as such

The dreams shuttered by lowered eyes

still peek through the parted lips

Speaking words not yet spoken

of dreams not yet broken!
