I believe she did.

Sure, she was physically attracted to him, but then, so was Zoya, especially when he went about topless.😉 As is now S, with ARI.

But love is of all kinds. It can be obsessive, jealous, giving, sacrificial, wounding, happy, superficial, endless, etc.
Different kinds of love work for different people. And a relationship that may boggle our minds may work for the parties involved in ways we cannot understand because its their emotions involved and not ours.
She loved him in her own way.
As she loves her son in her own way.
So whether she loved money more than she did AAK is not the question.

The more important question is whether he returned her love. And no, he did not.

And of course, as you may have heard, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned..."
She reacted so violently because she loved him. Maybe not the 'good' kind of love that most might promote...but it was love nonetheless.

Mind you, I am one of those who do not espouse such a love, not because it is wrong, but because if it causes harm, I am not for it.
