I hope old IPK fans are here because I will be bringing back the royal family of Lucknow in my Sahil OS! If you have read my Avenging Angel series 1 (https://india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2796709) and 2 (https://india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=2927216), you will know that I made Khushi the princess of Lucknow through her uncle.
Meanwhile, this is my other Sahil OS that goes before this one: https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/qubool-hai/4110328/os-a-day-in-the-life-of-sahils-marriage-posted-please-comment
Here we go:
After marriage track...
The barber was here.
Sanam: Need to convince him to get a haircut before the ceremony. Nawabs don't have any of that chicken-mohawk thing he has going on.
Latif: Haw! How could you say that? Aahil baba looks good in whatever style he sports. That haircut is supposed to be cool, gaooon-ki-chori.
Sanam made a face: I know. But Nawabs aren't supposed to look like that. He needs a more mature haircut. I think this will suit him, what do you think?
She showed him a combed back, classic haircut.
Latif: Aha...toh yeh baat hai. You want him to look like your dream guy. Admit it, admit it, he is handsome.
Sanam: He is as far from my dream guy as possible, ok!? He is rude and arrogant, dikhta accha hai toh kya hua? (She blushed at Latif's arched eyebrow). Thik thak hai.
"I will have you know, you are no jal pari either," someone said gruffly from behind.
Sanam and Latif both jumped.

Aahil's eyes were shooting daggers at Sanam. How dare she say he had a chicken-mohawk? Larkiah marte hai iss hairstyle pe.
Sanam gathered her courage and straightened her back: I am fine the way I am. I will have you know that I was voted Punjab's Hottest Dhabawali.
Aahil mockingly: Yes, compared to your bearded, male, bazaar neighbors, maybe.
Sanam looked ready to throw a tantrum.
Aahil: Anyways, I was thinking of getting a new hairstyle for the crowning ceremony myself. So...no thanks to you.
He walked up to where the barber was set up and sat down.
Sanam decided to take her revenge as he sat quietly under the barber's scissors. It is not like he could talk a lot or attack her, this was the perfect opportunity.
Sanam: I can't believe you even had this haircut. It is awful! I wonder how no other girl told you that.
Latif: Girls love this haircut, just ask me!
Aahil: Latif? Go.
Latif scrammed.
Sanam: If I came home with a haircut like that, Bari Ammi would slap me - even though she loves me very much. That's your problem. Agar Begum sahibah had given you one or two when you were a kid you wouldn't grow up so spoiled.
Aahil's hands tightened around the arm of his chair. Images of his father's belt snapped across his vision as the barber finished.
Sanam sniffed, feeling victory: That's what you needed, strict discipline. Ahhh! (She screamed as Aahil grabbed her by the arm and pulled her to a secluded corner).
Aahil cuffed his sleeve and exposed the scar on his arm: Yeh dekh rahi he aap? It is from when I was ten years old. The belt buckle hit me right here (he pointed to one corner of that fine scar), stuck, and ripped the skin as it went down. Strict discipline from my father (Sanam's heart sank in guilt, she stepped back, but he held her in place). Child abuse never works, Sanam. You think this would have made a child less spoiled? (He started shouting) It made me into a MONSTER! I am a 30 year old man who still has nightmares about those lashings. I can't trust anyone not to hurt me. I can't...(His eyes sparkled with angry tears). I am scarred for life! So, don't you EVER tell me again that hitting a child is a good idea.
He let her go and walked away.
Sanam sat in shame behind the kitchen counter and cried. She revisited all the horrible things she said and wondered how each one must have hurt him. But she didn't know! How could she know some teasing was affecting him that much? She didn't know he was a victim of child abuse, otherwise she would never...

Latif: Hai Allah! Chotti Begum, what are you doing curled up in a ball here?
Sanam crying: I did something terrible to him, Latif, and I don't know how to apologize.
Latif: You? Apologize?
Sanam swiped at her cheeks: Don't make me feel worse than I already do.
Latif: Fine, fine. Make him a vanilla cake, that's his favorite.
Aahil sat in his room angrily changing the channels on his LCD when Sanam walked in with...he could smell it before she was in the room, vanilla cake.
Sanam's heart was beating too fast as she entered the room, seeing him in a new light.
She said meekly: I made you a vanilla cake.
Aahil: I don't want any of your stupid cake.
Sanam in a shaking voice: Dekhiye, mujhe nehi pata tha...aapke bare me.
Aahil rose: That's the point! You don't know me! You judge me just because you saw me with a couple of women. You think I have no depth. I knew I was wrong all along, yes, but you are always judging me for a few glimpses of the life I led to escape from my reality. You think I didn't want a normal life with a normal family? You think I wanted to become this serial dater of stupid women rather than seek true love? Who doesn't want that, Sanam? But we are not all blessed with that choice. No one wants a monster. You are letting all this glitz around me fool you. (Before he could continue, she had jumped into his arms and was hugging him tightly).
She smelled of vanilla. Warm, edible, vanilla. She was so soft and fit so well in his arms that he was tempted to pull her closer and hold on for dear life. He still had to hold her as she was a couple inches above ground.
Aahil weakly: Leave me.
Sanam: No.
Aahil: Hume aapka sympathy nehi chahiye. Choriye hume!
Sanam: I am sorry, I am sorry. I was being mean, I know. I just wanted to tease you.
Aahil was silent.
Sanam waited: I made you vanilla cake, please have some and forgive me.
Aahil pulled her closer for the first time and smelled her hair.
Next morning...
Tanvir: I cannot believe she talked him into taking the title! Now I will no longer be the Begum of Lucknow, that duo kori ki larki will replace me. I cannot believe I set her up with him!
Rehan: Leave them alone, mother. She is his wife now. He is the rightful Nawab, he was born to this.
Tanvir: It is your right!
Rehan: No, it is not! All this belong to him, not me. Including Sanam. If there is anyone to blame, it is you.
Tanvir: Rehan, how could you say that!? I did all this for you!
Rehan: The only thing you can do for me is wish them well. And don't get in their way if you want what is good for your son.
At the office, Aahil called the Sabyasachi showroom...
Manager: Sir, it will be such a priviledge to dress you and your wife for the ceremony. You saw the catalogue? Did you have any favorites?
Aahil: Uh...yes, I like these off-white ones on page 15.
Manager: Good choice sir, that is part of our couture collection. You will be the only ones to own it if you order those.
Aahil: Good. Send those home. And listen, if the lady of the house shows up, tell her...Tell her that hers was a gift from my business associate.
Manager: Yes sir. Surely, sir.
Later that day...
They had the farmhouse decorated for the ceremony. The whole place was a festive little enclave in the middle of the country with faerie lights everywhere.
Aahil: Sanam, look my uncle and his family are coming for the ceremony. They are coming all the way from Lucknow. Please make sure you are nice to them.
Sanam: You don't have to tell me that! I know how to be nice!!!
Aahil rolled his eyes: They are the royal family of Lucknow. I am only saying, they need to be taken care of.
Sanam stopped: Oh...
Aahil: There you go again, making conclusions before you heard me out.
Sanam guiltily: Toh, yeh kehte aap. How was I supposed to know by "nice" you mean be hospitable?
Aahil: God! I can never do anything right for you!
The bell rang before they were at each other's throat again.
The designer attires were here for the evening...
Sanam marveled at her dress: It's beautiful!!!
The delivery boy was a young, clueless kid who had obviously not remembered his manager's instructions: Nawab saab picked it himself, Chotti Begum.
The kid panicked when he saw the Nawab face palm behind his Begum. He then remembered that he had messed up.
Sanam stared back at Aahil in awe: Aapne kharidah? Mereliye?
The delivery boy quickly made himself scarce.
Aahil hesitated defensively: So what? It came with my sherwani.
Sanam shocked still: Free toh nehi hoga, na? Aap hi ne kharidah hai.
Aahil blushed: Yeah, well...acchi lagi mujhe. Light color tha, aur...yeh sparkly...joh bhi hai acchi hai.
Sanam: I wasn't asking you to compliment the dress. I can tell it is very beautiful. The point is you bought it for me.
Aahil: Toh parrosi ke begum ke liye kharidnah cahiyetha? Of course I bought for you. You are officially becoming the Begum of Bhopal too.
The crowning ceremony happened without a glitch with all the family and guests in attendance. Aahil looked regal in his attire - even Sanam had to admit that. If she was honest, she was not looking too bad herself.
And then, it was time to party.
Aahil first introduced her to the Nawab of Lucknow, a very handsome man of around 55ish. He was gracious and gentlemanly. Sanam wondered if her father would have been like this man if he had the chance to age.
Then, she met the most gorgeous couple she had ever seen. The guy was Lebanese and the woman was Anjali Raizada Faisal, the Lucknowi princess's nanandth. They had a really cute baby with them too. The little moppet gave Sanam a toothy grin.
Before she could come to terms with this beautiful couple, she was surprised by an even cuter couple. A younger one. These two were too busy bickering to be introduced along with the rest of their family. They didn't have the slightest clue amid all these other guests that their hosts were right next to them.
Khushi: But you promised this lehenga will have pom poms!
Arnav: Khushi, it is a designer outfit. Not every designer likes to use pom poms.
Khushi: What is the point of you owning a fashion company if you can't even custom make an outfit for me? And was my demand so ridiculous? I just wanted some pom poms (she got teary).
Arnav cupped her face and said chidingly: Okay, my demanding little princess. I will order you one with pom poms tomorrow. Now, please stop pouting.
The cheeky princess turned away (annoyed) and faced them: Oh! I didn't know you were here. Congratulations, Aahil!
Aahil: Thank you, Princess. Welcome to my humble abode. Arnav! (He went up and hugged his friend).
Aahil introduced Sanam to them. Sanam smiled at the embarassed looking couple. Actually, it looked like Arnav Singh Raizada was more embarassed to be bickering over something as small as pom poms. Khushi was not bothered.
Khushi hugged Sanam: You look beautiful Sanam, congratulations on becoming Begum of Bhopal.
Sanam: Thank you.
Anjali Raizada Faisal joined them.
Khushi: Isn't it great we are staying over tonight? Oh, I know! Di, we can all have a pajama party with Sanam and the girls here!!! That will be so much fun!
Arnav said seriously: Khushi, it is their special day. You cannot have a pajama party here.
Khushi made a face.
Sanam was amused. The princess was so sweet, no artifice at all.
Aahil: Of course, you should. It will give you a chance to get to know each other. In any case, the guys are going to be partying all night.
Khushi: Excuse me, no drinking!
Aahil: No drinking. We will just be watching a game.
Khushi: Fine. Fine. You amuse yourselves and we will have a girl's night. (She hopped on the spot, clutching her hands together). It will be so much fun, Sanam! Do you have any jalebis?
Oh yes, this was a girl after her own heart. Sanam decided they will be best friends.
Sanam: I can make some! I have a special recipe.
Anjali: I can help.
