Folks! This is not an episode update but in fact a brutal dissection of an episode from a critic's point of view, some may say, it is just a soap, just enjoy and don't think about logic...well! that's fine too and/but this post is not for you. For me soap is a craft with certain concept, vision, message and minimum expected standards of the craft and I would like to critic an episode based on those expected lines when they fall below certain basic threshold, spreading negativity is not the goal.

What QH2 is all about: Just another love story between a bad boy and a village belle, nope there is more to it but CVs lack focus or to some extent vision to cash upon the potential of running revenge plot in parallel to the love story. Biggest mistake of CVs at the moment is that they are just focusing on the love story, when it is essential to mix and match different aspects like Razia entry and her face off with Tannu. Hope CVs wizen up to bring back magic of initial QH 1 with perfect mix of love, mystery, manipulation and an overarching drama.

When QH2 should stop obsessing on love story: Right now, Rahat and Haya love story is being rushed like no tomorrow and Aahil and Sanam story is being stretched with badly baked quadrangle. There is a pressing need for more time to be invested in developing these love stories to make it relatable and in the mean time audience can be engaged with parallel revenge plot with Razia.

Why QH2 need an immediate revamp: while QH2 is managing decent TRPs, if they continue with contrived love stories with unimaginable bummers, eventually chemistry of lead pair will be lost along with the interest of audience.

Cringe worthy highlights of today's episode:
1. Rehaan bringing flowers for Sanam and she gladly accepting them with no hint of apprehension and going a step further to ask his help in decorating her hair.
2. Sanam, the cook dancing between Rehaan and Aahil.
3. Mehendi fell only on Sanam's hand when several others are standing with her and Nazia making a big deal out of it.
4. Precap - what the hell is Nida blaming Sanam for? Do CVs make a character fall so low for sake of dramatics? contrived to the core and this is exactly the trait of CVs that turns me off.

I agree with a lot of what you've written here.

But one important aspect which everyone overlooks is the importance of ratings, and how fortunate QH was to have debuted at a time when TAM was out of the picture. It had about three months or so to set up characters, weave a story, etc etc without having to worry every Tuesday or Wednesday how the last week was received by audience.

When TAM came back the efforts were shown in the ratings. And so again that gives the leeway and breathing room to continue on.

QH2 has been an attempt to stay afloat at first, and then to get significant increase in ratings.

The love story really is half-baked and is missing proper development. However, somehow--due to the acting, chemistry and direction, it's working right now. I too wonder how long it will work, but I am not really worried about that. While I wish that it was done better, I can't say I am still not finding something enjoyable. I am. Question is how long it will last though.😆

Agree with you, I am just watching it because of KV and Surbhi, after 19th they made me come back, love their chemistry and scenes. Both are doing awesome although I totally agree that they have to focus on the story telling, how long they can give us this idiotic scenes. Today was just classic..I agree with all the points you mentioned. wonder when Gul is going to learn, she has these powerful leads with amazing chemistry, doing awesome, now only if they write a good story for them. Seriously how hard is that. The whole gajra scene was so out of character, why 'd Sama take Gajra from Rehaan, and he was helping her with that 😲 I mean totally out of character, also Sanam dancing, fine Tannu forced her, but then what was she doing dancing between Rehaan and Aahil, did not fit well within the scene. and Precap is just 🤢 I was like what the ????? Why is Nida angry with her? and what is Sanam's fault? Its all stupid. Anyway I really hope they finish this idiotic track and get the story going.. I am getting sick and tired of this NIda character, she is Tannu 2 of QH2. All her work is to taunt Sanam or Tannu.. I mean seriously if she is a new vamp give her some good dialogs? Anyway I am just hoping that Cvs will focus on Sahil story and get the story moving..

Agree, that was a master stroke by Gul but if only she used that buffer time to come up with a decent story, QH2 could have attained greater success.

Staying afloat part is done and now the focus should be on increasing the rating and CVs can't continue with current standard if the goal is to increase the TRP.

Yeah! If CVs don't wake up soon even TRPs will go in to slumber mode.

Not only Nida's dialogues even Sanam's dialogues were pathetic today. In Gajra scene, Sanam went on with unbelievable blabber ... I love Gajra, no one gave me any gift after I have come to Bhopal...WTH ...instead if the scene was a must, she could have said, I generally don't accept such gifts but as you are a pure soul, I am accepting it ...that would have been to some extent tolerable and they could have shown Aahil jealous to see Sanam taking flowers and that would have still served the purpose without Sanam asking Rehaan to help her with flowers.

I agree with you. SO many things looking too contrived yesterday.

  1. They took great pains to make Sanam look very plain thus far. I was curious as to how they were going to start making her look pretty again, something related to the story you know? But no, she looked pretty on the engagemenet ceremony , fine, her grandma gave her some nice clothes. but then she went from that to the bride look (reminiscent of the Eid look from QH1) we saw yesterday. Who dresses to rival the bride anyway?? And the dancing ...
  2. Sanam couldn't go out for a date with Anwar, the guy she was about to marry. Now she's hugging men quite comfortably and letting them put flowers in her hair and all. Rehan was giving her those flowers as a symbol of his intentions, and sends him to googly eyed heaven when she asks him to put it on...
  3. Quite frankly in the beginning I liked Haya. There was infinite possibilities for her character. But instead they made her a pitiful creature, who meddles in lives of people she has no business disturbing. I mean, sure, it was sweet that she wanted to be friends after the rescue, but going into his room and revamping it?? Going into his wardrobe and through his clothes and stuff. She crossed the line of busybody-ness (for me at least). Suddenly he's asking her out...
  4. Sorry but if someone attempts to molest my granddaughter and they tossed him out of HIS own house. I would not continue to stay there, and suffer much discomfort at the separated husband and wife. What's up with Dilshaad? She came to Bhopal to help Sanam, when she couldn't, why stay there?
Sorry for ranting in your post.. 😃

Wonderful, enjoyable, and well analyzed post. To this I will add 2 other questions:

Where: Where is this plot headed? If SaHil Nikaah is the immediate goal, then we need to have a few new entries and twists to keep the post-nikah chemistry going. Also, the character of Rehan needs to be greyed up to make things more interesting.

How: Rather, it is a series of "how comes" that I do not understand, such as:

How is it that if Badi Begum is being slow-poisoned on arsenic or another Billi poison that should naturally make her increasingly cat-atonic, she is looking really chipper and getting better each day?

How come in a cultured household, an unmarried girl is invited, and agrees, to go a military couples ball without even needing to check with her grandmother first.

How come Dr. Asma is still in the dark about her beau's lack of medical knowledge, despite spending great amounts of time in the Nawab mansion?

How can Rehan fix the gajra in Sanam's hair in full view of assembled guests without raising a single brow or comment?

How did Nazia see the splash of mehendi in Sanam's palm, when the angle of how the hand was being held made it difficult even for the audience to spot it?

Ain't that the truth honestly, she's supposed to be a cook what cook dresses that way. Ironically a lot of people love the cook but no one loves the bride.
One of the biggest problems with Sanam is that her character hasn't been completely established. They are building her character as the show goes on. She's a badly built character tbh.Her personality is pretty random and turbulent. In the first few episodes of Qh2 she was reciting shayaris, now she isn't.

It wasn't Dilshad who gave her those clothes and accessories she wore for Engagment. I'm pretty sure she said Badi Begum, i.e, Aahil's grandmother gave all.
Yes, I am picking on something random and besides the point. 😆Agreed with your post though.

Totally agree with your post. Although QH1 had its ridiculous moments still I could overlook them and enjoy it. Not so with QH2. How long can people watch just for chemistry with no solid story?
