Sanam has the sharp tongue but in other aspects she is like her Dad. The quiet and intense Asad. She is very dignified and sometimes her dignity alone brings tears to my eyes, coz I remember Asad. He was very special to me! :)

Surbhi has done justice to the role of Sanam. She looks like Zoya but is mostly like Asad. She has channelled them both in this new character. My hats off to her. The scene in the washing room today where she tells Aahil "why he cares if she dies"?, was one of THE best scenes SJ has done on this show!

Very well said MrDarcyFan

"Surbhi has done justice to the role of Sanam. She looks like Zoya but is mostly like Asad. She has channelled them both in this new character. "

Surbhi is doing an excellent job.
A friend of mine who had spoken with her just before the leap said that she was very excited about the leap as she is able to show a another side of her. She is also excited that She said that if people were able to distinguish her character as Zoya's daughter as a different personality, then she has achieved it as an actor.

She also said that she did hope that she is able to build a chemistry with her co-star. She said that its the actors job to bring life into the role that is being written out for them. If they are build that connection, the chemistry with the co-stars, an actor has done his/her job. She said she was though nervous, confident that she can build a similar chemistry with the new co-star (now KVB) like she did with KSG. (KaBhi = AsYa was unique, though 👍🏼 ☺️

I am happy for she has achieved what she wished for with KVB. This shows off her talent.

I do hope the story now moves along in this steady speed

That is like the biggest joke ever..! 🤣

I don't mean to be rude but Surbhi is playing a different character.
Zoya and Sanam are two opposites.
And as Sanam, Surbhi is doing a great job..
Zoya was lively and while Sanam is calm and cool..

I don't disgree with you, neither I will agree with you completely.
I felt same for Sanam these days. There was something in Zoya which Surbhi made so believable and charming with her acting. Writers, directors played very important role in portraying Surbhi as Zoya. There used to so less mistakes by Surbhi as Zoya, which used to get ignored in entire charm of show.

I would say QH lost its charm completely. Sanam's character is not at all well written for me. I cant connect with her. Sanam does not have that ex factor in her. And direction is also bad.

Every actor has limitations and directors try to hide those by focussing on actor's strengths. Same happened with Zoya. Surbhi's forte is her comic timing and emotional scenes. Zoya had most of such scenes which Surbhi nailed with perfection. But as Sanam she no more does comedy, no strong emotional scenes yet and she has been given eye locking, some half baked romantic scenes which are her limitations so I find her thanda in acting these days. She is improving but directors are totally ignoring Surbhi's strength. So somehow to some extent I agree that Surbhi as Sanam has lost charm. But its not entirely her fault. Its more for writers and directors to understand their actors strength and portay those in right way.

Dear TM,
Thank you for the post. It got me to ponder alot about Sanam's charecterization and Surbhi.

When Sanam was first introduced, she was a chatty, feisty, you-burn-my-dabba-I-burn-your-car sorta character and she was somone that could remind us very well of both her parents without any difficulty - they didn't need to be in onscreen flashbacks either. I haven't seen this sort of brilliancy in any other shows or actors.

As time progressed, we saw her character becoming more mellow and subdued.. And this mellow and subdued nature of Sanam was something I wasn't used to and I found her dull/boring (honestly I did stop watching it for two weeks or so) - and this also affected the way I viewed Surbhi, because she was one vibrant person offscreen and if you actually put Zoya and Sanam side by side, there is vast vast vast difference and you would probably think Zoya was the most OTT character ever! Hahaha..

But Surbhi has proved that she can play a character like Zoya and a character like Sanam excellently. Her expressions as Sanam, no one can beat. Like yesterday, the way she was talking to Ahil with so much of hurt because he thought she was stupid was amazing. Her eyes emoted the hurt amazingly..It hurt her heart that he felt she was cooking up stories and that she didn't mean a thing to him. She hides her emotions and how she feels, like her dad and all these detailed expressions are really hard for anyone to portray but this girl actually does it effortlessly.

Surbhi, my bby! deserves all the award in the world because she just dedicates her whole energy to the role and she brings it to life!

You probably felt she lost her charm because of her subdued nature as Sanam. I felt the same but I've realized that as Surbhi is being Sanam now and that doesn't mean she's actually lost her charm or her personality has changed. She's being Sanam now like how she was Zoya then!

Sanam and Zoya are two different characters which Surbhi has played out amazing...
An actor proves their worth when they can come out of one character and portray another character convincingly to the audience, ... and SJ has done this without having any time to prepare...
