This was one of the chapters that had the most progression in AsYa's relationship and interaction between them since Zoe stepped on Indian soil again. Really amazing and highly enjoyable from beginning to end.
""Miss Farooqui..." came a rough voice and her breath hitched as she felt her tummy clenched with tingling sensation. She hastily looked at him. His blood shot eyes shook her to the core.
"What happened to you, Mr. Khan?" Zoya ran to his disheveled form, he was shaking. She hugged him tight.
"I want to sleep Miss Farooqui," He whispered. If she did not know him closely in these three months then she would misunderstood him like before. She loosened her embrace and Asad hastily added
"Not with you but here near you." He pleaded. Zoya's eyes filled with tears with the unknown pain. Her voice choked. She wanted to wipe all his miseries but she was helpless here. She was doing this only for him. He approached to the couch but Zoya held his hand. He looked at her with question in his eyes. Zoya nudged him to her bedroom. "You are not going to sleep on the couch. You need proper rest. We need to attend the Eid party where you are the host I think. So sleep for two hours only." Zoya said with authoritative tone. Both remained silent with questions in their mind but none could utter it. She finally let it go. One day with him would not increase the pain which he was bearing now. She and he both would be part of their lovely last memories. Asad gave her an amused smile.
How it sounds so lovely when anyone's love takes care of him?
Asad nodded silently and headed to the bedroom without saying anything. Zoya looked at his retreating figure.
"How he knows where the bedroom is?" Zoya mumbled."Buddhu Zoya! He is the architect! Pagal." She whacked her head and followed him.
Asad had already lain down and Zoya tucked him under the blanket, adjusted the AC temperature and wanted to leave but Asad stopped her.
"Stay with me please" He was on the verge of crying. Zoya silently sat beside him placing her back on the headboard of the bed and he placed his head on her lap like a craving child. She passed her fingers through his hair. Asad smiled and yawned, Zoya too.
"Why don't you love me? Am I that bad?" Asad blurted from out of nothing.
"Please sleep Mr. Khan!" Zoya said.
"I know why you don't love me" He trailed off.
I only love you, Mr. Khan. But you will never know."
I personally felt this was the best scene to date, outstandingly breathtaking. I cannot reiterate how much I loved the intensity of this scene. As a reader and hopeless emotional romantic I just want to say "Thank You" for conceptualizing this scene. You really did an amazing job with this. 👏 👏 👏
Best Wishes and Love!
