BANNER CREDIT- ImmortalLove😃
Little Zoya was dancing in rain when suddenly Tanveer came and pushed her in the muddy puddle. She didn't argue, she just got up and rushed away.
.
.
.
.
.
Zoya got first class result in her twelfth boards...she wanted her parents to acknowledge her achievement...but they'd no time...that day Tanveer won a fashion show in her school.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Zoya was looking at the entrance repeatedly waiting for her family to turn up. She looked around, each of her colleague was with his or her parents...taking their Masters degree...she kept waiting and waiting...until her name was called and she dejectedly went to take her degree alone.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Zoya's first day in office...she was scared. No one wished her luck...how much she yearned for it.
.
.
.
.
.
Zoya sat in her office...a girl came to her...Humeira...she said...they sat there laughing over some joke that Humi cracked.
.
.
.
.
Zoya sat in her bridal dress...suddenly her parents and Tanveer appeared from nowhere...knife in their hands...she started walking backwards...Rashid and Shireen blocked her way...she started running...running and running. She was now standing on a hilltop, a woman was shaking her head in no...Zoya strained her eyes, it was Dilshad...suddenly she felt a push...she was falling, swiftly...her end was near...
She is now lying somewhere...it felt soft...a serene feeling engulfed her...someone caressed her hairs...her forehead, lovingly. Zoya opened her eyes and looked around disoriented, "Asad..."
She looked at the light blue colored walls surrounding her...no greenery...nothing of that sort which she was witnessing just now...oh god! Was she dreaming? Asad caressed her cheeks and she jerked out of her thoughts.
"Tea!!" He exclaimed.
"Oh yes! I will bring it in a jiffy." Zoya said getting up.
"Tea..." He said again, this time bringing a cup in front of her face. Zoya was pleasantly surprised, "who made it?"
"Me..." He replied sheepishly.
Zoya smiled...he smiled too...
"I'll just go and freshen up."
Minutes later Asad and Zoya sat in the lawn enjoying their morning cup of tea. Asad had made some (burnt) toasts too. Zoya didn't mind...until and unless Asad kept smiling...she ate all that without any complaint. As they finished their breakfast, Asad again brought the first aid kit and started re-dressing Zoya's wound. Zoya kept telling him to stop, that she can do it herself but Asad scowled at her, "I'll do!! I know this..." He said concentrating on his work. Zoya just sat admiring his eyes which were narrowed in concentration and seemed glinting whenever he did something right.
"What about a stroll? Weather seems great today!" Zoya tried to convince Asad but he kept on denying. Exasperated, she walked and stood with her back turned to Asad, displaying her displeasure. Asad walked over to her and held his ears, coming in front of her. She tried to remain angry...She turned around yet again. Asad kept following from her back to her front but she didn't give in.
Asad finally confessed, "I can't lose you Zoya. You are my angel...after my mother, I found that peace with you. Those memories which came all the way haunting me for years are now almost gone. It's all you...your company. Let's just stay inside...if I lose you...I'll go back to those endless pits...I'll lose myself again."
Zoya contemplated for a while before answering. Asad's confession has shook her...so much attachment in mere 4 months...it seemed a miracle to her but then they both only had each other...they shared their fears, sorrows, joys...everything!!! Their bond had become unbreakable...Zoya realised it just now and the realisation made her guilty. She was not here to stay forever. She'd made some promises to her sister and she couldn't even think of breaking them. Sighing she decided to just let go and live these whatever moments were left with Asad, to the fullest.
"It's day time Asad...we'll be safe." she tried reasoning. Asad still seemed uncertain.
"We'll carry my pepper spray. Happy now??" Asad finally grinned and thst was a yes for Zoya.
An hour later, two people were walking hand in hand on the isolated roads of Kasauli. Each side of the path was lined by tall Eucalyptus trees and small bushes adorned with colourful flowers. Zoya was continuously speaking about one thing or the other and Asad, like a good husband, listened to her every word patiently.
"Asad, me and Humi went to so many places...she loved travelling. She is a photography maniac too. She has clicked so many pictures of us. She is...blah blah...I ...bla...bla...bla...she'll love it here when she comes!!" Zoya concluded.
"She'll come here???" Asad looked at Zoya wide-eyed. Uncertainly, Zoya nodded a yes and that was enough for Asad...his signature twisted face which he made for his biggest rival...The Evil Monster...was back. Zoya pitied herself...how will she handle both of them together when Humi will finally arrive.
Zoya diverted the topic and started talking about her hobbies...she told Asad whatever she loved...it was a damn long list but with a listener like Asad, that wasn't a problem. She kept talking and walking simultaneously. "Do you like surprises Asad? I just love them!!! Tell me na...Asad...Asad...where are you?" Zoya panicked when she noticed Asad's absence beside her. It wasn't crowded at all so he couldn't get anxious. She traversed the whole path, till where it was visible, with her eyes. No Asad! She seemed as if she'll cry any moment...how can be she so irresponsible...she can't look after him properly. She started walking towards where they'd come from. She had walked a mile when she heard some noises behind the bushes. Horrified, that it may be some wild animal, she was going to run when a head emerged from behind it...then someone's face came in view and Zoya's jaw dropped.
There was Asad, fully covered with mud and dry leaves...he stood up seeing her...trying to hide whatever he had in his hands.
"You are caught!!! What the hell are you doing here??" Zoya said a bit louder then she intended.
Asad was visibly terrified with her tone. Zoya took deep breaths and calmed herself down and spoke in a softer manner, "Asad...why did you leave my side? You scared me!!"
Asad didn't answer but came forward with his head bowed down. He extended his hands gradually. Zoya was confused until she noticed a large colourful bundle of flowers that Asad had picked up for her. He'd made a bouquet sort-of thing from it by tying it with a dried twig. Zoya's eyes shone with unshed tears of happiness, "For me??" She asked, quite knowing the answer. Asad vigorously nodded a yes and smiled at her. She gleefully accepted that...her first gift from her husband...made with such innocence and unadulterated love that Zoya can't help herself from feeling something churn deep inside her.
As they returned home, Najma and Haseena were standing at the door of their house. Asad hid behind Zoya seeing two new people staring at him.
"Asad Bhaijaan!!" Najma shrieked seeing Asad as if he was his long lost buddy. Asad flinched and held Zoya's right arm. Zoya turned around and blinked at him, assuring him that he was safe and she was there for him. Najma, till then had reached them and hugged Asad with all her might. Haseena kept smiling at Zoya and Asad, thinking to herself that they looked perfect together...her motherly heart prayed for their well-being and happiness.
Asad was looking at Najma wondering to himself why this chubby girl was crushing him. When she left him finally he breathed in relief and then looked at her curiously. Her baby bump fascinated him and he smiled at her faintly. Zoya intertwined his hand with hers and let him feel baby's movements. Asad was so very happy...he showed his thirty-two to all of them.
"Zoya! Good news!!! It's going to snow sooonnn!!" Najma sang happily while Zoya squealed in happiness.
"Wow!! How I dreamt of playing in snow...I love it so much!!! Kab hoga snowfall??" Zoya was elated by this sudden revelation and Asad wondered what is there to play in snow. Unable to contain his curiosity, he asked, "Won't we get wet? Why are you so happy?"
Zoya chuckled and the two excited ladies went on and on explaining the merits of playing in snowfall to Asad. Once done, they made sure to extract a yes from Asad to play with them which he reluctantly did.
EVENING:
Zoya was preparing dinner when her cellphone rang. Humi generally called her during late night, so she wondered who was it calling her this time. "Unknown number!!" She wondered to herself.
"Hello?"
"Kaisi ho Zoya?" A melodious voice rang in her ears and she smiled.
"Khala!!"
"Haan meri bacchi !! Kitne dino baad awaz suni tumhari..."
"How are you Khala? You know...Asad misses you everyday. We talk about you daily."
"How's my Asad? Where's he?"
"He's watching NEWS maybe. He seems curious to know more about snowfall...we're having one soon over here."
How's he? Did he trouble you?"
"He's alright...infact he is more than fine. Not at all Khala...he'd been a good boy...throughout!!"
"He...he's fine! Ya Allah! I was so worried..."
"Don't worry...just that he misses you so much sometimes..."
"Not anymore...his Khala is coming to him." Dilshad said happily and Zoya went silent for a moment.
"Zoya...Zoya...are you there?"
"Y..yes Khala! When will you reach here?"
"By next week...most probably. I think it's no more dangerous...they are still behind the bars and police is trying to extract out the facts about all the allegations on them."
They chit-chatted some more time and then Zoya put down the receiver and walked over to Asad to tell him, what seemed a good news to him. He was over-joyed on the prospect of seeing his favourite Khala after so long while Zoya's heart was being crushed by some heavy burden of gloominess.
That night when Humi called, Zoya masked her sadness and talked casually. She very well took care of hiding the fact that Dilshad will be coming there very soon. The more time she got with Asad, more of memories could be created, which she could cherish for life. But she didn't realise that more time also meant a bond and an attachment so strong that would make both of them vulnerable of breaking down.
Next morning brought a very pleasant surprise for Asya. While they were in deep sleep, fairies from the skies had come to cover the Earth with fluffy clumps of pure white snow. Zoya emanated enthusiasm...she took out the warm clothes that Najma brought for them the last evening and taught Asad to wear them properly. Covered and protected, they stepped out and as soon as they took few steps, there came a crashing sound and a scream, "Ahh!!!"
Asad had fallen flat on his face. Zoya laughed uncontrollably and Asad frowned. He waited for her to stop but when she didn't, he tugged at her pants and she fell down too. Soon, a snow war ensued, both of them engaged in making small snow balls and throwing them at each other. Sometime after, tired, they sat there witnessing the falling snow which has covered the entire vicinity. What seemed like ages to both of them but were few hours only, Asad tried standing up but Zoya protested, "No!!"
Asad sat down again, "We'd had enough...now what?"
"Let's make a snow man!!!" She jumped excitingly.
"Hmm..."
Together, they started making a snowman which took them an eternity as Asad was behaving like a perfection freak and every curve has to be perfect according to him. Zoya and Asad enjoyed the experience too much and being tired they hit the bed once again as soon as they came back inside after playing for hours in the snow.
PART 8B...SCROLL DOWN!😊
Zoya woke up few hours later and went to the glass window that gave her a view of outside...everything was covered with snow...till long long distances. Every nook and corner disappeared and what was visible was white...all over. This somehow made her think about her own situation. Once when she leaves, she'll have nothing else to do in life...with Asad, each day was a new challenge to her. His every demand, every tantrum filled her with joy and unknowingly, she'd started craving for a new aspect of him everyday. Even if she leaves him and live with Humi, she'll miss him somewhere...all along...such was a soft corner that he'd developed in her heart.
She took out a small envelope from the drawer and opened it with trembling hands...it had numerous snaps...her memories...with Asad...their engagement...wedding pics...the first time when Asad slept whole night, peacefully without having any nightmare...their trip to the lake...them eating pancakes at the hilltop...the sunset...those toasts which he made for her...the first aid box...and lastly, that snowman which Asad was carving in full concentration. She smiled seeing all of them. How'd time passed!!! She approached Asad with slow steps and sat beside him on the bed. She traced the contours of his face with her index finger...as if memorising everything. She blew air on his eyes and tapped at his nose, which twisted slightly as his sleep was being disturbed. She chuckled and closed her eyes...capturing his innocent face in the depths of her mind.
"Zoya slept while sitting?" Asad stated confused...scratching the back of his head, seeing her eyes closed. Zoya opened her eyes and their eyes met...she smiled and he reciprocated...their eyes having a convo of their own.
FOUR DAYS LATER:
"Please Bhaijaan!" Najma pleaded while Asad gave a save me' look to Zoya who kept a blank face.
"Not good for the baby..." Asad explained. Zoya had told him about Najma carrying a baby and he seemed overly concerned about the fact.
"Bhaijaan...just half an hour...Zoya wants to go too!!" Asad looked incredulously at Zoya and she smiled sheepishly. That smile did the trick...Asad had agreed.
Asya with Najma and Haseena went to a fair...for which Najma was convincing Asad to accompany them. Asad seemed skeptical about the whole thing but the thought of Zoya being there assured him of his safety. But thoughts and reality are two different things...one look at that crowded, chaotic place and Asad started hyperventilating. His shirt was drenched in his own sweat. He held Zoya's hand tightly. She gave him a glance and immediately regretted her decision of coming here. He seemed troubled.
"Asad...Asad...shall we go back??" She asked, scared to see him like that.
"Z..zo...ya...they'll take me...Ammi...Zoya...save me..."
Zoya somehow dragged him to the corner and made him face her. She wiped his face with the edge of her dupatta and soothed his back. He seemed unaffected...his breathing became more rugged. Seeing no option, Zoya did what she thought of as the best. She hugged him to herself...burying his face in her bosoms...ruffling his hairs and occasionally whispering sweet nothings into his ears. She kept doing this till Asad's breathing became normal...but he was still hiccuping. Till then, Najma and Haseena too reached them. Haseena offered her a water bottle. Zoya made him drink water and made him sit down...he was still clinging onto her.
"Zoya...let's go back..." Najma said sadly, guilty of forcing him to come here.
Asad looked up at the poor girl who seemed scared out of her wits. His eyes fell on her baby bump which cocooned a little life inside it. It was like he drew courage from that little bundle of joy and he stopped panicking.
"Baby wants to play?" He asked imploringly.
"No...not if you are uncomfortable..." Najma cried.
"I will be comfortable..." He stated...more to himself than to others.
A little while later, Asya walked matching steps with each other. Asad clapped for every game that Najma or rather the baby won...he himself forced Zoya to try some of them. They together played aim the target and swinged on the giant wheel. All this time, Zoya kept her arm tight around Asad's waist, supporting him. Today what she saw made her fall more for him. If she herself was an epitome of selflessness...he was an extreme of will-power. He was exhausting himself for fulfiling her wishes. He broke all the walls of fear around him...for those whom he loved...
LATER AT NIGHT:
Zoya laid her bed, parallel to Asad's. For sometime they kept stealing glances at each other. Asad slept off easily...tired of all the excitement that he had had, earlier in the evening. Zoya had just closed her eyes when her cell vibrated. She saw Humi's name flashing on the screen.
"Hi Humi..." She said in a jovial tone.
"Miss Zoya! How dare you hide that News from me??" She screeched.
"Wh..what Humi?"
"That Dilshad aunty is coming in 2 days!!"
Zoya gasped in shock and for a minute she couldn't think of anything coherent to retort back. Humi continued, "I got the job yesterday and so I called her today. She told me about her plan of returning back to Asad. You are free Zoya...you are free!!" Humi squealed excitedly...unaware how much her words pained Zoya...as if she was repeatedly stabbed through and through.
"You are coming here?" asked Zoya...fearing the yes which was definitely the answer to her question.
"Yup! Okay I have to go now...cya soon..." With that the call got disconnected and subsequently the thread of self-control that Zoya had carefully held till now, broke. She cried...cried for herself...for Asad...for their un-named relation...
She was unable to sleep that night...
Since morning, Asad was following Zoya everywhere. She seemed lost today. Though Asad didn't know the reason for her weird behaviour but he sensed her despair. He tried cheering her up but she was too sad to notice any of his antics. Tired, he gave up and went away. Zoya sighed and sat down..."It's better if you try to live without me..." She thought to herself. But how wrong she was...Asad proved once again that he was as stubborn as his wifey. He brought something which confused Zoya whether she should be happy or sad...
He had himself drawn a beautiful portrait of Zoya. She knew that he loved sketching but she had never seen him drawing anything. She took the sheet in her hands and on carefully observing she noticed that it was folded into two...other side had Asad...who was extending his hand towards Zoya and on top was written something that made Zoya's eyes go misty yet again...for nth number of time since last night...TOGETHER FOREVER...it read!!
Suddenly, the door opened with a thud and scared by the sudden noise, Zoya's grip on the sheet loosened...it blew away towards the door and was now laying down at the feet of their guest...
"Surprise!!!! Zoeee...I am here!!!!"
AA GAYI EVIL MONSTER...WHAT NOW?? WILL SHE SEPARATE ASAD AND ZOYA...
TIME OR RATHER MY NEXT UPDATE WILL TELL...LOL...
STAY TUNED!!
CYA SOON (HOPEFULLY)!!
