It wasn't dark as yet. Twilight had just kissed the sky and the sun was going down the horizon, by the time Asad and Zoya were back home. They walked in with full moon smiles on their faces, displaying those adorable dimples, eyes sparkling with love, reflecting just how they felt at that moment after having spent a wonderful day together. They looked at each other and both wanted to say something to the other but before they could, Tomato Ahmed Khan, who was busy eating her ice-cream , spoke.
"Hi Bhaijaan and Zoya." Said Tamatar in an corrosive tone.
Asad and Zoya were taken a back by that tone. Never had either of them come across an angry baby ahmed khan ever before. They wondered what happened to her. Asad and zoya looked at each other, both asking the same question, 'what's wrong with her?' through facial expressions and neither knowing the answer looked back at Najma.
"Woh ammi has asked you both to get dressed and meet her at the backyard after an hour. Don't be late and don't even go to the backyard till before an hour." Najma said not looking at either of them, eyes darted into her chocolate chip ice-cream, twirling the spoon and eating some. Still not looking at them.
"Mr. Khan , what's wrong with Tamatar ?" Zoya asked an equally surprised Asad.
"Nope. No clue. This is the first time Najma has spoken in this tone." Asad replied in a tone which very much stated his dislike for Najma's tone and odd behaviour.
Zoya noticed that Asad hadn't called her Tamatar, Najma instead. And she knew that he calls her by her name only when he's upset with her. So, before Asad could yell at Najma or anything on those lines, she intervened.
" Hi Tamatar, " Zoya called out to Najma, only to earn no response. Not even a look.
"Najma, is this the way to behave?" Asad said in a mildly raised voice.
Again, no response.
Zoya gulped looking at Asad. He was starting to get angry. And she knew it wasn't going to be a pleasant sight. So, dropping the bags from her hand onto the sofa, she ran towards Najma.
"Tomato, baby what is wrong ? Meko toh bata de? Please ? ." Zoya said making Najma turn and look at her.
"I'm not talking to you both." Najma disclosed.
"We figured that bit. Lekin hua kya hain ?" Zoya asked.
"Zoe neither you , nor did bhaijaan tell me anything about what's been going on between you both. And you both say that you love me and one is my bestfriend and the other my bhai. How fair is this ? And even ammi told me just half hour back. So, basically I'm talking to nobody." Tamatar explained cutely, pouting towards the end, going back to eating her ice cream.
Zoya smiled, so did Asad. Soon a blush crept onto both their cheeks. Zoya looked at Asad, not knowing what to tell Tamatar, asking for help. He smiled and walked towards them.
"Tamatar, hey.. Even the both of us didn't know until today morning.." Asad said trying to pacify his baby sister.
Zoya nodded in agreement.
"But morning and evening have so many hours in between. You guys could have informed me na?!" Najma said showing them their angry baby eyes.
Asad looked at Zoya for some help.
"Yes, they do Tomato . But, we needed to be sure of this alliance so we were doing umm, some talking .. tab tak shaam ho gayi.. " Zoya said trying to make Tomato understand and by the change of expressions on Najma's face, Zoya knew she succeded.
Zoya quickly fed Najma the leftover ice-cream saying, "Acha sorry na.. Please?"
Najma smiled and hugged Zoya making her lose her balance, Asad came forward and hugged the both of them, basically stopping Zoya from falling.
"Tamatar main bhi sorry hoon!" Asad said making a baby face.
Najma laughed.
"It's okay bhaijaan and bhabhijaan. Lekin aage se don't leave me out." Tomato pouted and hugged the both of them again, Congratualting them and telling them how happy she was.
Zoya and Asad exchanged looks when Tamatar called Zoya her bhabhi. Zoya blushed turning crimson and Asad gave her yet another smile. He seemed to be compensating for all the times he didn't smile, this day. That's how much he smiled since morning.

Zoya showed Tomato the suit she and Mr. Khan had bought for her, also the diamond earnings they picked up for her.
Najma squealed with delight looking at her presents, "Thankyou so much. These are lovely. I love it and you both also, Very much. You both are certainly forgiven now," Najma gave them a crooked smile, making the both of them laugh.
"Acha , Tomato abh tum jao aur ready ho, okay ? Let me know if you need anything.Go now." Zoya gently pushed her towards the stairs.
"Zoya waise I should be saying this to you. Agar aapko koi help chahiye toh bataaiyega bhabhijaan."
Zoya smiled.
"Btw, aap mujhe aise, itna jaldi kyun bhej rahi hai ? Kuch important work hai kya bhaijaan ke saath ? If that's the case, then I'll go. But do call me for any help bhabhijaan unless, you want someone else to help you, y'know..." Najma winked at Zoya.
Zoya's mouth formed a perfect 'o' shape, hearing tamatar. She turned red within seconds.
"Najmaa ..." Asad called out loud, embarrassed at what his baby sister just said.
He picked up the remaining bags and left them in Zoya's room, returned to living room to see Zoya being teased by Tamatar. He stifled a laugh. It's always been the other way round with Zoya. After enjoying the scene before him for a few minutes, he asked Tamatar to go and get ready in a stern tone and even Zoya to get ready, hardly had half hour in hand. The girls rushed hearing that they had such less time to get dressed. Asad shook his head in disbelief and walked himself to his room, to get ready too.

Asad walked out towards the backyard with Zoya, their hands twirled onto each others, fingers interlaced, their smiles making their faces shine so much, that they could give the moon a run for its money tonight. If anyone saw them right now, would just say how they were made for each other and how god had taken out some time to make them. Like the aunties said,'fursat se banaya gaya hai tumko- sirf ek-duje ke liye'. Dilsad smiled looking at them enter the king size gazebo in the backyard of their house. She'd taken the entire day to decorate it herself for her son and her to -be daughter in law. It wasn't anything elaborate. It was a simple set up. She'd added white hanging curtains circumferencing the gazebo, with an elegant chandelier put up in the centre of the gazebo, which when switched on would illuminate light to the entire gazebo, making it look etheral and everybit elegant. There were two small circular tables alligned at the back of the gazebo with two chairs each, the furniture covered with white cloth with champagne gold bows at the back of the chairs. The set up looked like one of those high end party halls.
After a little leg pulling of the newly in love couple and some awkward blushy moments, Dilshad asked them to exchange rings. Zoya had chosen a simple princess cut diamond in the centre surrounded by little solitaires in a square shape, all in platinum; while Asad had a simple platinum band with 3 diamonds encrusted into it. Najma played some music. Tum hi ho played in the background while Asad and Zoya exchanged rings and were even asked to dance to it later, which they very blushingly agreed to. Dilshad was beyond happy that their family was complete with Zoya and Asad agreeing to marry each other, the love their eyes showed right now, just melted this mothers heart. She kept admiring them while they moved in sync with each other and the music. Najma darling was busy clicking her selfies and in between she even clicked a few snaps of the couple and her mother. But mostly, her own pics.
Asad and Zoya danced as if a romantic wave passed over them. They looked so much in love, not looking away from each other eyes for a second even, as if making unspoken promises, reliving the time they spent with each other earlier, today. How Zoya gave her consent for the alliance and how she said she loved each of them with all her heart and that after her nani passed away, the Khans were all she had to call her own hence she was so glad, that she could actually call them her own and that she was now one among them; she couldn't thank God enough for always looking after her and for showering her with the best present everr. Asad had always known about Zoya , Dilshad had always talked to him about her. And he had fallen in love with this simple independent girl who was staying in New York with her grandmother, taking care of her, who never gave up on life, despite life giving up on her several times, right from the age of when she lost her parents in a car accident till the time a few months ago , when she lost her nani, who was her lifeline, support system , everything she needed to be alive. So, she ave up everything back there and came down to Bhopal as per her Nani's wishes. And that has been the best damn thing in her life . And all Asad could do was promise to her silently now, after actually speaking to her his hearts content that he'll always be there with her, love her, take care of her, and how his life now depended on her and how she was always a part of this family. So he bore his eyes into hers thanking her for finding him, coming to him, connecting with him, making a relation with him and finally completing him.
As if on cue, the next song that played was RAABTA , describing very beautifully all that Asad wanted to say to Zoya, he ver slowly turned her around so her back was facing him front, moving sidewards, he gently pushed a few locks of her hair to the other side and whispered into her ear, 'this Zoya is OUR song. Thankyou.' and then mouthing the lyrics he twirled her round and round and Zoya couldn't contain her glee anymore. She smiled and giggled and just like that they were lost in the moment, into each other, oblivious of the world.
Like its said two people are connected at the heart, and it doesn't matter what you, or who you are or where you live; there are no bondaries or barriers if two people are destined to be together. They'll eventually find a way.. Like it's a Connection made from before. Raabta !❤️
