RES!!!!!!
Fantastic writing. 👏 Zoe's character is so well chalked out and so well written. It is absolutely bang on. I never thought I would ever gush about Zoe. The best part is that Zoe realizes her mistake, sure enough Asad had to remind her, about the line that was crossed, it just highlighted how gauche she was about being sensitive to others feelings. The key being that Asad triggered her self reflection. The cool and subdued dinner sent the vibes to her, in typical Dilshaad way. Her mortification was complete. She learnt and repent it the best way she has to. Zoe being Zoe goes about right away to put things straight without any delay.
The visit to Shireen's place, just goes on to show how some folks are more perceptive than others, Zoe had to visit Shireen to understand, where, how and why of Shireen, Asad would have probably understood without having to do that, but then he is more worldly wise as well. Experience helps. That call from Humeira was ominous reminder of what she had done. That hot tea which scalded her tongue, and Zoe thinking that she deserved it, was perfect angst, that little bit Noe, is the subtle touch that made this update so good. She indulged Shireen all the way, even having lunch, despite being bored. And Asad constantly in back of her mind, reminding her that she has lost his faith and confidence, so much more precious than anything else.
So Asad did leave without talking to her. That must hurt a lot. A constant pain, the longing. Maybe she will realize that she seeks a lot more than just that lost confidence and faith from him. Giving Zoe and us readers that little glimpse of his voice was a teaser indeed. Well placed in the story. 😳
Hopefully Zoe will register and process what was shared with her by Dilshad and Rashid.
She is still inherently Zoe. After she is back from Shireen's, when her abbu is back from a trip and would have probably preferred home food, however she wanted pizza. She knows that she can indulge, and her abbu will let her. This part of the update, it kind of reminds of, that we do change for better, yet our inherent character will always be there, and are accepted for who we are by our closest and loved ones.
Noe your interpretation and insight of Asad and Zoe is perfect in my POV. 🤗
