Here is the next update.

I am extremely thankful to all my friends who have been commenting on my updates and giving their likes

I know many of you are expecting a romantic update. I have tried to pen it down but not sure whether it will meet your expectations. Kindly forgive me if the update is not good enough.

I am a bit upset with the fact that comments and likes are reducing and many people who used to comment are not responding now a days. May be they have lost interest in my story. Kindly let me know whether you find the story boring that people are losing interest.

And a heartly apology to jas91 for having hurt her though unintentionally.

Chapter 22

As Zoya was about to get up, Asad caught her hand and made her sit down

Zoya: " Now what?"

As: " I said I am sorry. "

Zo: " Its ok Asad .I am not angry. Its just that you are getting late Asad. "

As: " Ok then. I just wanted to tell that I have informed Haider not to come to pick you. I will drop you. Atleast we will get some time together. Hope you don't have any issue with this."

Zo: " Why would I have an issue with this? Its not only you who wants to spend time with me. Even I want to be with you Asad. I have really missed you in the past few days. I didn't tell you because I know very well that you were very busy and I completely understand that. It is that I always drop Nikhat home. So ... Its ok I will talk to her. I hope she doesn't feel bad."

As: "Please talk to her. And please make sure that she doesn't feel bad."

Zo: "Of course Asad. And now we should keep going. Its very late."

As they were about to leave Asad got a call from his PA informing him that two people whom Asad has given appointment to meet him are waiting for him.

Zo: " Please carry on Asad. "

As: " But where are you going? Why you have any problem coming with me inside? Are you embaressed to face everyone?"

Zo: " Of course I am feeling a bit awkward. "

As: " Dont think about it too much. Its ok."

Zo: " yup anyway have to face them .So... Anyway you get going. I will come in five minutes."

With that Zoya moved towards the other door of the cafeteria and as she came out of the cafeteria, she found Asad behind her.

Zo: " Why are you here? You didn't go. "

As: "Woh...I thought ..."

Zo: " Ya Allah Asad I am going to washroom. Please don't say that you are coming with me."

As: " I don't mind if you insists." Asad replied with a naughty smile.

Zoya was shocked at his reply as he was never so bold earlier.

Zo: "You have become shameless Asad. "

With that she went away from there and Asad too went back to his cabin.

When Zoya came back, She found Asad missing . He was not in his cabin. She went to her seat, took her medicines still her eyes searching for Asad. But having not found, she was about to sit, then Asha : " Sir is in Conference hall. Meeting is going on. And by the way congrats Zoya."

Zo: " Thank you and Maam I am really sorry for what happened."

Asha: " Its ok. It was a bit embarrassing but I am very happy for you both. But how did it happen. I mean all of a sudden. I am still in shock."

Just then Deepak also came there

De: " Even I am in shock."

Asha: "I think the weather in Bangalore is too cool that you guys forgot your fights."

De: " Haan maam I think the weather in Bangalore is quite romantic.. "

Asha: "How are you feeling now Zoya? There isn't any problem right? Anyway we have the team meeting in 15 minutes. Get ready for that. Go through the minutes of previous meeting when you were not there. Deepak will help you. And may be Asad sir will also join."

De : " Maam not may be. He will surely be there."He smiled at Zoya.

Zo: " Deepak I will just come in two minutes. I need to talk to Nikhat urgently."

Zoya went to Nikhat

Ni: "Had lunch? And medicines? "

Zo: " Yes . Nikhat I just came to tell you something. But promise me you won't feel bad. "

Ni: "Zoya why so formal.Come on tell me."

Zo: " Asad wants me to stay back so that we can spend some time together. So he will be dropping me home. Nikhat..."

Ni: " Such a small thing Zoya and so much build up. Even you want to spend time with him na?"

Zoya nodded her head.

Ni: ". I can understand Zoya. And there is no need to be so formal. You are my best friend. I knew it earlier that you guys would want to spend time together. So I have already opted for company cab facility. So don't bother about me. Enjoy your time with your would be hubby."

Zo: "You are the best Nikhat."

Ni: "That I am. "

Zo: " We have team meeting now. I need to go , bye"

Nikhat nodded her head in affirmation.

Deepak helped Zoya with the preparations. Zoya was feeling a headache and it was because of late lunch. She thought of having a tea which would help her but before she could have the tea, Deepak came to call her.

Zoya went to the conference hall with Deepak. By the time, they went Asad was already there. And Asha madam amd three of her other team members were also seated.

Zoya smiled at Asad and he also gave her a smile. As she was about to sit down, Asad notioned her to sit in the chair opposite to that of him. Zoya sat on the chair opposite to that of Asad. Then she realised why asked her so because they both can face each other. Zoya smiled at him.

Once all were seated, the meeting started and Asha madam who was the project manager briefed about project plan, deadlines, coding and testing of modules developed till then. Then the person who is incharge of testing gave a detailing about he bugs and meeting was moving ahead smoothly. Though Asad initially was interested in the meeting, but gradually his focus drifted from meeting to his Zoya. He was looking at her and gradually got totally lost in her. Zoya noticed Asad in between but she was more involved in the meeting. The lack of response from Asad's side made it clear to everyone present there that he was lost and they could make out that he is lost in Zoya. But nobody bothered to disturb him.

Zoya's headache was getting stronger. Asad who was lost in Zoya noticed that she has been holding her head in between.

Asad understood that Zoya was having head ache and he remembered that Zoya telling him that she takes tea when having headaches. He also understood that headache is because of late lunch. He felt initially angry and as he was about to scold Zoya, reality striked him. He realized that he was so much lost in Zoya that he forgot even his surroundings.

The changes that needed to be made in the project plan was yet to be discussed and just before Asha started off the discussion,

As: " Mrs. Sharma, would you mind resuming the discussion after five minutes. I really need a break."

Asha: " Definitely sir. I can understand you may be tired. Meetings back to back. So..."

Asad called his PA to send the office assistant.. After a minute, Thakur came inside.

Thakur: "Sir you called me. Need to bring something?"

As: " Tea please. Not only for me ,but for everyone."

Thakur: " Sure sir. But you always drink coffee."

As: " I need tea today. Isn't it possible? "

Thakur: " Yes sir. I will bring now. I thought i heard it wrong. So just wanted to be sure."

Zoya looked at Asad. She also knew that Asad never drinks tea. And she understood that Asad had asked for tea only for her and that he knows that she is having a headache. She was totally moved by Asad's gesture. She realized that Asad had started understanding her so well that words were not needed. She felt so contented but along with that she was scared what if she fails to give him back the love and care he gives her. She realised that with such a loving and understanding husband, she shouldn't be having any insecurities about the life after marriage. She decided at that moment that she would do anything for Asad's happiness. She understood the depth of Asad's love for her and decided that she would never do anything which will ever make Asad feel that she doesn't have faith in his love.

Zoya was brought back from her thoughts when Thakur served her the tea. Before drinking

the tea, Zoya mouthed a thank you to Asad to which he nodded his head. She saw Asad drinking tea with great difficulty. She smiled at his antics and really felt lucky for having got Asad in her life.

After the meeting, everybody except Asad got upto leave, as he had one more team meeting. As Zoya was about to leave, Asad got up and caught her hand. Zoya turned and looked at him.

He told Asha: " Mrs. Sharma please send the next team after five minutes. I will call."

Asha saw Asad holding Zoya's hand. She nodded her head : "Sure sir, take your time."

Zo: " What is this Asad. Madam saw ..."

As: " So what ?I was just holding your hand. What is wrong in that.? I wanted to stop you. You didn't even look at me before leaving. So I had to do that."

Asad made Zoya sit and he also sat near her chair.

As: "How are you feeling now? Better? "

Zo: " Better Much better, the tea helped me and thank you so much."

As: " Zoya don't you think it is high time that we stop such formalities like sorry and thankyou."

Zo: " But..."

As: " Let me ask you something Zoya, if you are doing something for youself, would you thank yourself for that.?"

Zoya nodded her head in a no.

As: " So why are you thanking me then? We are one Zoya. Atleast for me it is like that. "

Zoya couldn't reply to what Asad told. Her eyes teared up hearing his words which did not go unnoticed by Asad.

As: " Shh what happened did I hurt you? "

Suddenly Zoya hugged him tightly which was least expected by Asad. He was shocked initially but he reciprocated the hug.

Zo: " I love you Asad."

As: "Love you too"

Just then the phone rang and both were brought back to reality. Suddenly Zoya moved apart from Asad and turned around to look whether there is any camera inside the conference hall.

Asad understood that she was looking for camera, but then As: "Don't worry . No cameras inside the cabins and conference rooms. Cameras installed only at the entrance of cabins."

Zoya was much relieved: "Are you sure?"

Asad nodded and said: " Hundred percent "

Zo: " I should be going now Asad. Its more than 5 minutes now."

As: "Hmmm I am really tired Zoya, still one more meeting. It has been a very busy day."

Zoya went near Asad who was sitting in the chair, she gently caressed his hair and asked: " Are you sure no cameras inside this room."

As: " Yes Zoya..."

Zoya suddenly kissed Asad's cheeks much to Asad's shock and she left from the room.

It was almost 6 in the evening and Asad's meetings were over. Zoya saw Asad moving to his cabin. Nikhat left the office after saying bye to Zoya. Most of the staff started leaving the office. Just then Asha madam came to Zoya

Asha: "Zoya you are not going. There is no need to strain yourself so much. Wind up the work for the day. "

Just then, Deepak also came there.

Zo: " No maam. I am done for the day. I was waiting for Asad. " She paused for a second and said: "I mean I am waiting for Asad sir."

De: "Its ok Zoya. We wont mind. Anyways bye. See you both tomorrow"

Asha: " I am also leaving Zoya. Enjoy your time. But be careful. Beware of cameras."

Asha teased Zoya to which she blushed.

Zo: "Please maam."

Asha: " Bye see you tomorrow."

As everybody has left, Zoya shut down the computer and moved towards Asad's cabin. She was initially hesistated to go inside but when she remembered his words which he said earlier, she felt confident and entered his cabin even without knocking.

Asad was busy doing some work in his laptop. He smiled : "Just ten more minutes, then we will leave."

Zoya nodded her head. She sat on the chair and was looking at Asad.

As: "Please stop it Zoya.I am not able to concentrate."

Zo: " What did I do?"

As: " Please stop looking at me like this. I am not able to focus."

Seeing Asad restles Zoya decided to tease him a little. Zoya moved towards Asad's chair and sat down on the handle of his chair and put her hand across Asad's neck and asked: " Now is it ok? I am not looking at you."

As: " Zoya please stop this now or else you will have to face the consequences. Then don't blame me later. I am warning you."

Zo: " I am ready to face any consequences Mr. Asad Ahmed Khan. I am not scared of you anymore."

As: "What happened to my Zoya today? In different vibes."

Zo: " Its because of you. You told na, that we are one and so why should I be scared of myself."

As: "And now Zoya, 5 minutes more. Be a good girl and I will get you your favourite ice cream."

Zo: " Then ok. "

Zoya came back to her chair and suddenly she got a call from Zeenat. After the call, she said to Asad

Zo: " Asad, ammi had asked you to stay back after when you will come to drop me . They have called the decorator. So both families will be having dinner today at our home.Both our ammis are together. They will be back by 8 pm "

As: " Ok fine Zoya. I am done with today's work. We will leave now."

It was almost 6 30 when both left the office.

In the car

Zo: " I think it is going to rain. Wow Asad I love rains and rains in Mumbai has its own magic."

As: " Ya so true. Magic of flood and traffic blocks."

Zo: " How rude."

As: " We need to be home before it starts to rain. I don't want you to get sick again."

Zo: " Asad I wont get sick because of rain. I like getting wet in rain."

As: "Definitely not this time Zoya. You have just recovered.You should be careful"

Zoya also nodded her head.

They were almost a kilometre away from Zoya's house, suddenly Asad remembered that he promised to get ice cream for Zoya.

Asad stopped and parked the car and asked Zoya also to get down.Zoya got down and asked: " What happened Asad? "

Asad caught Zoya's hand and asked her to walk with him. Soon they reached ice cream parlour and then Zoya remembered about the ice cream.

Both were relishing ice cream while Zoya said: "You are very good at keeping promises Asad."

As: " Hmm"

Zo: "When is Dadi coming Asad? "

As: " May be on Wednesday."

Zo: "What if she doesn't like me?"

As: " It is only my happiness that matters her and she knew very well that I am happy .So don't worry about her. She would love you. You know something, I love her very much. "

Zo: " I know Asad. Your ammi told me that."

As: " She is your ammi too Zoya."

Zo: " Yes she is."

As: " Zoya, we will have only a week's leave after marriage so i was thinking it won't be possible for me to take you somewhere , like for a honeymoon. May be we can plan for a short trip somewhere near by, just for two or three days."

Zoya choked the ice cream and said: " Honeymoon. Seriously you are planning one."

As: " Of course, a long one may be at an exotic location but not immediately. I will take you once our new project is completed. But now a short holiday, just you and me together.That's all and don't consider it as a honeymoon, definitely not till you are ready . You have any suggestions as to where we can go now?"

They started walking towards the car. Zoya was in her thoughts. She wanted to tell Asad that she is no more scared or insecure and that she is ready to be his wife in all sense. But she couldn't tell him.

As: " Zoya where are you lost? Please suggest me some places. "

Zo: " Somewhere nearby na Asad? Then of course Lonavla."

As: "Lonavla Zoya? I am sure you would have been there earlier and moreover we have a farm house there. I have gone there many times Zoya. Any other options?"

Zo: " I will still want to go to Lonavla. Asad Lonavla is beautiful in rainy season and I am sure the monsoon will start soon. You told na, its only our togetherness that matter then why not Lonavla? Please"

As: "Ok then. We will wait. If monsoon starts we will go there."

Just as Asad said this, it started raining. They tried to rush to the car but they both were wet by the time they reached the car.

They reached Zoya's house in 5 minutes and it was almost 7 30 pm. Zoya opened the house with her spare key as nobody was there in her house. As soon as they went inside, As: " Zoya please change. You will fall sick"

Zo: "It is applicable to you too."

As: " I will inform Ayaan to bring a change of clothes for me when he comes."

Zo: " So you are planning to be in wet clothes till then. No way. I will get bhaijaan's clothes. Or else why don't you change in his room? Come"

Both went to Haider's room. His wardrobe was locked and Zoya couldn't find the keys.

Zo: " Ya allah. I don't know where he has kept the keys. He never keeps anything in order. Poor my would be sister in law. Anyway I will call him and ask."

As: " Please Zoya. I am fine and please don't call Haider and bother him."

Zo: "But..."

Suddently she noticed that her Ammi has kept the clothes which are back from laundry on the table which her brother haven't kept inside the wardrobe. She took a track pants and a T shirt from the lot as rest were haider's jeans.

She handed over the clothes to Asad for him to change and she went to her room.

Asad changed into Haider's pants but the T shirt was too tight that he couldn't wear it.

Zoya also changed her clothes. She got two cups of coffee and went to Haider's room in search of Asad. She entered Haider's room ato find a shirtless Asad. She turned her face away.

Zo: " I am sorry. I didn't know you haven't finished yet."

As: " Started saying sorry again. And Zoya this shirt is small for me. Dont worry I will put on my shirt itself. Otherwise you will not show your face."

Zoya turned at faced Asad: " No .Its ok .No need to wear the wet shirt. Now have coffee.

Today you had sacrificed your evening coffee for me."

Asad took coffee cup from Zoya and drank the coffee.

There was drizzling rain outside and Asad was watching it through the window. Zoya also joined him. They were enjoying the rain sipping their coffee

As:" This climate reminds me of the time we had spent in Bangalore. Those moments were the most beautiful moments of my life."

Zo: "Even I was thinking about those moments. But we will have more beautiful moments ahead in our life.Isn't it Asad?"

As: "Of course Zoya."Asad said holding Zoya by her waist.

Zoya rested her head on his shoulder and held his hand tightly.

Zo: " Asad..."

As: "What is it Zoya?"

Zo: " Asad I am not scared any more about marriage. I am completely prepared and you know what, it is your love that gave me the strength. And I am really happy that Allah had given me you in my life. I don't want anything from him hereafter. I love you"

As: " Allah has been kind enough to me that he had sent you to my life . You brought light into my life. I have started feeling alive again. You made me believe in love, commitment, marriage. "

Zoya faced Asad and both were lost in each other's eyes. Asad slightly caressed Zoya's cheeks and said: "You are looking beautiful today Zoya."

Zoya closed her eyes and Asad moved closer to Zoya and kissed her eyes and when she opened her eyes he kissed her forehead. Zoya somewhere knew that she needed to stop Asad as he could be carried away by emotions. Before she could stop Asad, Asad moved even closer to her and was about to kiss her lips, she suddenly hugged Asad and Asad reciprocated the same.

They were lost in each other, suddenly they heard a noice at the door of the room. They turned to see Zeenat, Dilshad and Asad's Dadi at the door. They were staring at them as if they had seen spirit especially Asad's Dadi. Then both Asad and Zoya realised the awkward position they were in. Zoya and Asad hugging each other and above all Asad was shirtless.
