This chapter is dedicated to Linsie for her support. Since I have promised to update today, I am updating the second chapter. I will update next chapter only if there are positive responses.

Chapter 2

The day went off quickly as Zoya was busy with the new assignment .After completing her day's work; she walked towards the exit door and waited for Nikhat to come. Both Zoya and Nikhat were assigned to work in different teams.

Zoya was still worried with the look Asad had given them in the morning. She felt bad that she had displeased her senior on the very first day. By then Nikhat came apologising for the delay and they moved towards their car.

Just then Zoya received a call from Zeenat that she is going to doctor with her abbu for his checkup and forgot to inform her in the morning. She asked Zoya to be with Nikhat and will pick her while returning as Zeenat doesn't want her to be alone in the house.

Both Zoya and Nikhat went inside the flat and found Najma busy preparing some presentation with another girl. As Zoya was a regular visitor to Nikhat's flat she was friendly with Najma too.

Najma: "Hi, how was your first day guys?"

Nikhat: "Awesome"

Zoya: "Good"

Najma introduced the girl sitting next to her to Zoya : " Zoya, this is Humeria. She has recently joined our firm for internship." And turning to Humeira: "This is Zoya, my friend and today she has joined ABC SOLUTIONS along with Nikhat".

Humeira nodded her head in a hello and replied: "My would be brother in law is also working in the same firm "

Nikhat screamed towards Humeira and asked: "You are engaged Humeira who is the lucky guy what is he doing?"

Humeira shyly replied: " Not officially but everything has been fixed by both families. Will have the engagement ceremony once Ayaan's exams are over:"

Nikhat: "Ayaan, Ha?"

Hu: "Ayaan is a doctor and doing his masters in Cardiology. Their family is of four. His father is also a doctor, his ammi a housewife and elder brother is working with ABC SOLUTIONS."

Nik: " So he is also engaged?"

Naj: "Take a breath Nikhat. Have coffee"

She said while offering coffee to Nikhat, Zoya and Humeira.

Hu: " He is not engaged. I don't know much about the reason. But Ayaan says that he doesn't want to get married. He is only interested in his work. We have been family friends with his family since many years but I don't even remember that he has spent time with us when we go there. And hardly he gets into a conversation with me apart from hi or thanks."

Zo: " Humeira what is his name? "

Hu: "Asad Ahmed Khan"

Zoya choked her coffee hearing his name. Nikhat looked towards Zoya and then towards Humeira.

Hu: "Any problem? You know him."

Zo: "No problem. We met him today. He is our VP, very much senior to us. Hardly we will be having any interactions."

Zo: "What about your family Humeira?"

Hu: "I am single child of my parents and my father is a businessman and mother, a home maker"

Humeira was about to ask Zoya something but then Zoya's phone rang. After answering the call Zoya turned to Nikhat .

Zo: " Abbu, Ammi is waiting outside for me. Nikhat , I am leaving my car here. Will pick it tomorrow morning. Here is the key"

Zoya turned to Najma and Humeira and said " Bye will meet soon".

Zoya after reaching home headed towards her room saying that she is tired and will meet everybody after a bath and will brief her day's activities.

Zeenat was a bit upset with Zoya's behaviour but Anwar consoled her that Zoya may really be tired and everything is fine.

After taking a bath, Zoya felt relaxed. She moved to the balcony of her room and sat in the swing where she always preferred to spent her time. She closed her eyes and started enjoying the cool breeze. But suddenly she remembered his gaze as if he was still staring at her. She was confused but she understood one thing that there is something different.

The same time, in Khan villa,

Asad reached home and was welcomed by his mother. He moved towards his room after asking his ammi to send coffee for him. Suddenly he noticed two of Ammi's friends seated comfortably in the living area. He just acknowledged their presence and moved to his room.

He overheard one of them asking his Ammi: " Dilshad, What about Asad's wedding? Any plans soon. It is high time that he should get married"

Dilshad : " We also want him to get married but he is not ready"

Before she could continue the conversation, she heard Asad's voice

"Ammi please send the coffee soon. I am having head ache".

After a few minutes Dilshad moved to Asad's room to find him lying in his bed .She offered him coffee started picking clothes to be given to laundry from laundry basket.

Dil: "How long Asad ? how long will you run away from marriage. I really want an answer why don't you want to get married? Is there somebody in your life?" Seeing that Asad is lost somewhere else Dilshad raised her voice "Asad are you listening is there someone?"

As: "Zoya Farooqui"

Dil: "Zoya, who is it Asad ? How long have been asking you ? If you have somebody in your life you should have told me and your abbu rather than ...". She left the room in a rage without completing her sentence.

Asad was shocked at his blabbering and ran behind Dilshad .
