To be honest I dont think that's the reason. They saw the TRPs sinking so they planned the leap. However most of the actors including Raquesh didn't want to play older characters onscreen so they decided the bring in an entirely new cast post leap,hence the reason they finished of Asya. Though if they wanted to show them dead,they should have done in a better way.It was crap the way they did it.
