Tanveer, Miss Havisham and Fire

One of the few things that we know about the leap for sure is that Tanveer stays. I know distasteful but a fact. And, some rumours say that one of the children is going to be raised by her. Did someone say that the daughter is shown praying for Abbu? Also, few of the recent articles used the name Tanveer Khan. Based on these facts + rumours, it seems that Tanveer is going to raise one daughter as her own, pretending to be Tanveer Ahmed Khan legitimate widow of her Jammy and the precious daughter is going to call her "Ammi". Aah...the horror. But...but...but, I see makings of two interesting characters and their relationships.

What was the biggest grudge against Tanveer that many viewers had? She had no back story, no justification for her actions. But, now, a woman obsessed with a man who in a fit of rage killed him and then raises his child as his aakhri nishani. That is a strong back story...twisted, yes...interesting...yes. This Tanveer can be the pious, tehzeeb-e-afta woman that she was assumed to be by her precious friend. She would pretend to be one. She would raise the child with lots of love of a mother, because she is her Jammy's daughter. But, as the girl grows up, she resembles her mother more and more - Tanveer's arch enemy. In her mind, her sautan - the one who snatched away what according to her was legitimately hers. She would feel hatred for the child, but she won't hurt her because she is Jammy's daughter. She would look at her and feel rage, but when the child will speak or act, she would resemble her father. How can she hurt a miniature Jammy? (Snape protecting Harry because he is Lily's son and yet hating him because he resembles James, anyone?) She will fight a battle with herself every day. The child is a living example of her defeat, and yet she would be incapable of harming her. Some punishment I would say. Roz roz til til karke maregi, tadpegi, apne aap se ladegi. To her horror, the child would also have traits of her mother and to the best of her abilities she would try to stomp them, maybe using Abbu's name. "Aapke Abbu ko ye bilkul pasand nahi aayega." But, we know that you can take Zoya out of New York, but can't take New York out of Zoya or her daughter. Tanveer would struggle, fight, but she would fail every day and she would be helpless because she just cannot harm Jammy's daughter.

And, now coming to the daughter, she would love her 'Ammi' and her Abbu. No, she would not be deprived of a mother's love, and yet she would feel strange fear for the woman that she calls her mother. She would never be able to explain it and being Zoya's daughter nor would she dig deeper into it. She may have nightmares and scar which would be explained by her mother.' She would not be able to understand why her 'mother' who is very loving at very moment goes all angry the next moment. And, what about her twin's feelings? Does she feel them? (Some room for creative liberty here...) Finally, when the revelation happens that her 'mother' is actually killer of her Ammi 😲. I can see so much potential for this particular daughter's character.

Okay, now coming to Miss Havisham - the woman jilted on altar whose life stopped on her wedding day - I feel that is how Tanveer will be when her end is near. Her Jammy's daughter would have abandoned her not only that would hate her despite of her best efforts. So far she has been a psychotic woman and then she would be a completely mad woman. I think no mortal can harm Tanveer. Her death will be her own doing and it will be by fire which is a major theme of the show. Imagine her dressed in bridal attire - Miss Havisham style - remembering everything that she tried to get her Jammy and yet she failed again and again and again and her dress catching fire. She would be consumed by her own rage and the actual fire. And, no...absolutely no redemption for her.

Both of these characters - Tanveer and the daughter that she raises - can be quite interesting and complex. In the TV industry, one person that I trust to create and do justice to (no pun intended) complex characters that is Gul Khan. She gave us Asad - the finest, most intricately layered character whose every fibre of being had a meaning. Can I hope that she would surprise the viewers?

If the rumour of the show having 6 months of life is true, I think it is the most welcome piece of news. Every show should start with a deadline, tell its story in the given time span and take a graceful exit. Again here I think Gul is someone who can ace a fixed length format.

Alright, having said all this, I caught one of the promo today on TV and it can't hold a candle to even 10th photocopy of original promos, IMO. And, let's not forget that the show still airs on Zee TV. If Tanveer taking away one child is true, then it is the same track as Pavitra Rishta where Archana's sister runs away with her son and raises him in a village in Bihar pretending to be his mother and hiding his original identity. Gul is not to be blamed for everything, again IMHO.

p.s. I understand that emotions are running high right now and some of the things said in the post may not be welcome. In that case, kindly ignore.

Not welcomed?

This is the only post that is positive on having Tannu be in the story. And by positive I means workable one.

Though I must say the Tanveer Khan mentioned in the article is really her name.

During the pretend nikah, between Jammy and Tannu, the Qazi Sahab reads out her name as Tanveer Banno Binti Something Khan.

I cannot for the life if me remember what the something is.

I know what it is, but just not coming to my mind now.

So yeah, that's that.

I would live to watch a tortured Tannu but I have a very strong feeling that it would be Razia that would raise the child.

Whether as the evil step Nani or the now reformed Nanu's wife i.e. her 'Nani'.

Can I take it that you plan on watching the show post leap? Please say yes.

I'll tell you someday why.

I have faith in Gul while many has lost theirs. And it is absolutely wonderful that you do too.

She gives us great characters and amazing stories. Sure it sucks when she also assassinates them but everybody deserves new slate every now and then.

This is hers.

I hope this time she goes by the story and not simply please certain crowd and let down the story.

Your theory too sounds interesting.
And yes it it is wrapped up in 6 months, then nothing like it.

But the promos of sanam really are good. Haven't watched pavitra rishtaa, so can't really say. But the promos deffo present the character of Sanam.

Workable it is, then.

Okay, when she was first introduced, she was Tanveer Baig. I remember that very well. Not having watched the show for months, I cannot say anything about latest bloopers.😉 So, they made her Tanveer Khan, haan?

I cannot for the life if me remember what the something is.

Right now it is all speculations, but I see QH2 as the means of rectifying every mistake that was done in QH1, and first mistake that needs correction is Tanveer.

Whether as the evil step Nani or the now reformed Nanu's wife i.e. her 'Nani'.

One of the child being raised by Razia - hmm...if that means it will be a super smart daughter, I like it.😃

Can I take it that you plan on watching the show post leap? Please say yes.

Not sure yet. QH is something that I associate with original Asad(Karan) and Zoya(Surbhi) and I would not change that association unless something really worthy is shown. So, wait and watch position.

I'll tell you someday why.

I have faith in Gul while many has lost theirs. And it is absolutely wonderful that you do too.

I have full faith in Gul in coming up with wonderful stories and characters. She gave me first 9 months of QH and I will always love her for that and I know that she has it in her that no one else in TV industry has. Yh...I am still not forgiving her for Zoyaan, but...but...I am ready to push it under that Iranian carpet. 😆 And, yes, I will watch her future shows too and love them till I can.

She gives us great characters and amazing stories. Sure it sucks when she also assassinates them but everybody deserves new slate every now and then.

This is hers.

Yes, I am also seeing this leap as a clean start. A big leap of faith she is taking and I want her to succeed. Initially, I didn't want to but now I am hoping the best for her.

I hope this time she goes by the story and not simply please certain crowd and let down the story.

If only six months - tight script, crisp narration, power-packed performances - oh...the possibilities.

Hey Noe,

I think you are giving too much credit to Gul and her creative team. They can't come up with intelligent storyline as you have described. I can see Tanveer torturing AsYa's daughter. It is hard to believe she will give their daughter motherly love. Anyway we'll find out soon :)

Great post as usual:)

Thanks! 😊

Miss Havisham comes from the novel 'Great Expectations'. An irony or not! 😉 Only time will tell.

I somehow have faith in Gul when she is starting something new.

It certainly does sound workable. But CVs have constructed Tanveer's character in such a way that more than obsession with Jammy, it's obsession of losing to Zoya. Yes, in the last few episodes she was seen as being obsessed with Jammy and no nikaah has erupted the fire in her. But since day one she was seen to hate Zoya and her interference between Jammy and her as her main obstacle. So I think Billo raising AsYa's baby as hers especially with the baby resembling Zoya seems thin.
Tanveer's motto is "if I can't have it, nobody can". So I would rather see Aahil as her son and she taking revenge through him. Yeah it's way to 90s thought but quite possible with the way CVs have shaped her character.

No justifications for Tannu's gruesome murders. I want that character to be killed ASAP. No Tanveer.
