If we look back in time, various names have been attached to Bollywood heroes, like Vijay to Amitabh Bachchan and Rahul/Raj to Shah Rukh Khan, etc. But when it comes to Bollywood actresses a certain character name is repeated all the time but with various different actresses playing it. Like Anjali, Priya, etc. Just like that, in the past two years, the Name Zoya has been used in many Popular Films. Co-incidently, whenever the female lead has the name Zoya, her boy friend/ lover has to pay a huge price for it.
Jannat
In the movie Jannat , all is not going well for our Emran Hashmi, when he constantly complains about not having the queen in his life, i.e., Sonal Chauhan, who plays his love interest in the fim. The character Sonal plays is named Zoya. At first, Emran makes merry and wins a lot of money, but in the end is shot dead when the ring he is about to pick up which he bought for Zoya is mistaken for a gun. Clearly, Zoya wasn't the queen in this case.
Ishaqzaade
In this youth oriented movie, the pretty Parineeti Chopra plays an independent and gutsy girl name Zoya who falls in love and decides to flee with her love interest, which is played by debutante Arjun Kapoor. Sadly, Zoya decides to end her life in the end, taking Arjun Kapoor with her.
Ek Tha Tiger
In the blockbuster movie Ek Tha Tiger, which released last year and had Salman and Katrina in the lead, Katrina plays the character of a Pakistani spy named Zoya. Even though Salman a.k.a. escapes death, he still manages to have the whole of RAW and CSI after him.
Raanjhanaa
This year, Zoya proves to be double trouble as both her lovers in the movie , i.e., our poor Dhanush and the macho man Abhay Deol, pay the price for loving Sonam Kapoor with their lives. Yes, once again Sonam Kapoor played a character whose name was Zoya.
