yes in the whole zoyan fiasco they show zoya as like the typical crying bahus of other shows. Who have no self respect, no strength to fight for herself. In your story it felt that zoya is actualy from NY. Love this Zoya.

They totally destroyed zoya's character
Also Asad, badi bi & nikhat
Badi bi was the only intelligent person in sm who stood against razia & supported Arya
I really couldn't get just to pull razia she was after zoyaan
Nikhat was shown matured during najran issue & she tried to kill herself for a man whom she was not in love at that point of time
Asad during zoya's visa issue told he can't do fake engagement bcoz he truly belief in all this customs & hence it's not a joke for him. The same guy just send his bride for his siblings to his bro as his wife till his coward step sis got married & after that he can get her back
I am not saying anything about ayaan since he is immature from first
