He maybe trying hard, infact he even said that he is working hard since he is very nervous.

However the screen presence thing is debatable. A lot of it depends on how your perceive the actor. Do I feel he has screen presence? Yes
How does it compare to Asad V1.0? Yes it is less but it si not that significant coz I was focused on him yesterday TBH. I did not notice Tej or Alka.
However, in my defense I find SRK's screen presence less than HR just coz when HR is on the screen I don't want to look anywhere else. That does not mean SRK, the badshah of bollywood does not have screen presence. His is dynamic, but I just don't like him.

RV was good with the anger and angst scene and slowly he will get into the character...
SJ and Alka were superb,
HuHa scenes were OK and better than Qureshi drama

Thanks Neena,
I don't think Qureshi house is going anywhere. Coz it is the backup for QH. When the main team is overworked, they have to fall on the backup.

Earlier the SM was backup, but now the action has all moved to SM so they need another backup.

Yes, I too feel that RV needs some time to get into the skin of Asad. Just being told that this is how Asad would react is not enough. Coz honestly, no one but Karan knows how Asad would react since he was Asad. What everyone else tells is what they saw of Karan as Asad. So yes, RV needs sometime to understand the character and get his reactions right.

Rivs analysis is superb!!! U actually saw the entire scene 3 times!!! but loved the way u said all three aspects are acceptable and yup we need to see how he does in emotional scenes with D and Z to actually give him approval.

i couldnt watch the episode in one go but caught "BAS" in it and i loved it... We are used to seeing ASAD behaving in a certain manner.. So its very obvious we expect the ASAD to speak one statement with a small pause in between, almost mumbling while talking etc to list a few.

If Raqesh imitates that then ASAD would be doomed... i am glad he is giving his own flavour to ASAD and i m sure it will turn out to be good...

HuHa actually behaved as if it was some one else who had rape encounter the previous nite!!! khair its a show and we should just bypass these things..

Mohit is good..actually very good.. he is refreshing change to QH. looking frwd to his work

Qureshi's dont need any mention as they are bad, bad and some more bad 😆

Good post Rivs.. Loved it :)

Love Seera

Hey Seera,
just noticed the unres...next time please put a note saying unres on pg 1 or something.😃

I did...well honestly my 2 year old was responsible for it. He wanted an apple right then, so the first time I could only hear since I do care about my fingers😉. So on the spur of the moment I rewinded and watched it on mute and then again the whole scene. I got a very different feel each time.

Yes, Karan as Asad gave shape to the idea of Asad so they are synonymous. But I am liking how Raqesh is not completely changing Asad, just changing it in bits. But I really think that his chemistry with Shalini and Surbhi on their one on one scenes will be the final judging factors. Coz Asad is closest to the two and at his emotional best.

Thanks for the comments. I refrain from talking about anything but Asad V2.0 at this point. Nothing is as interesting.

I was busy the whole day yesterday, Pongal Shopping. Tried searching for sugarcane and Haldi leaves through the lanes and bylanes of the pink city, but to no avail.
Just now watched the episode.

Took me a whole week to get my head wrapped around the change.
Even though I'm not a fan of MS products, but have got MS-Office installed in my i-mac. But, I don't upgrade the software.😆

Something similar is happening to me these days with the QH world.
Nice analogy. The minor QH upgrades, we ignored. The one major upgrade of one bhai, we applauded. The other major upgrade of the other Bhai is still being debated and the debate continues...
For a very long time, there was a face we identified as Asad. We have heard a voice that was Asad to us. We had felt the emotions and motions of Asad via that face and voice. And now, post the break, everything has suddenly changed.
The only saving grace is that for the past 3 months, we saw very little of Asad and whatever we saw was so unAsadlike, that I'm welcoming the change. It will be next to impossible for anyone else to play Asad of the earlier good old days, so RV should try to bring his own style to Asad. Over a period of time, we will get used to the new Asad.

Asad's hair has gone from long and unkempt to just unkempt but trimmed. The stubble is back, but trimmed in a different style. The clothing has been upgraded to colors (Purple jacket for Asad, really?😲) that I was not used to seeing before. These to me are minor changes.
God is in details Rivs. Hope the Creatives remember KSG's Asad and do a good job of explaining Asad to RV.

The biggest different the upgrade brought was the voice and the face. The essence and purpose of Asad remains, like my word example, but a lot has changed with how it appears to me. So I did a little experiment today. I watched the Asad scene 3 times.
1. First I just heard the voice. To see if I feel that the anger that was being pitched in the voice justified what I was expecting. I was surprised since i started with low expectations after the Zoyaaa from last week.
2. Second I watched in mute. I wanted to just focus on the emotions and portrayal of the anger on the face and on the person. I think that went well, yes, some nuances of Asad V1.0 were missing, but were they so big that I should write off Asad V2.0 and move on to another word editor? The answer is no.
3. Third I saw the scene on the whole and I was truly happy with the outcome.
I directly went to 3rd step,😆, then 2nd step and then 1st step.
Actually I had thought of wathcing it 3 times, but got so engrossed in Zoya-Razia duel, that I straightaway let Asad V2 walk and talk simultaneously.😉

The word "BAS", the shaking, the anger in the eyes, the protruding nerves, everything looked very good and a big round of applause to RV and the team for putting in so much effort in trying to get him up to speed on the character so fast.👏
Agreed to word.

As this point, I think Asad V2.0 has potential to succeed, but I think we need some very important scenes before we can give final judgement.
1. Scene with Dilshaad - emotional prowess
Hope Asad doesn't forgive Rashid after this. That would make for an emotional scene with Dilshaad.
2. Scene with Zoya - romance
Eagerly awaiting with fingers and toes crossed.

3. Frustrated scene with Zoya, the original magic of the Jodi.
Hope it is not "I want to spoil you more Zoya".😆

So far for me, Asad V2.0 is To Be.👍🏼. Final verdict after I get to see the above scenes.

Rivs
PS: Gite - you asked for a post today. Here you go.
Thanks dear. So Gite it is.
PPS: I get carried away sometimes hence the long essay on V2.0😆
Pls. do get carried away more often. I like to read long essays.

Now to my comments on the episode.
Qureshi - Wish they would stop repeating the same scenes with same characters and same dialogues. If this house is unavoidable, at least show something new. What does Haseena gain by keeping a woman in drugged condition in her basement?

Jungle - From Dil to QSQT. I agree with others. If not for Haider, I would've gladly pressed the forward button. WHy are CVs painting Humeira's character on the lines of Zoya? Didn't like the rape accusation, now not liking Humeira's sudden oh-so-good feeling for Haider?
How torturous for us -
- We asked for Asya nikaah and got Najran Nikaah.
- We asked for Mangalpur part 2 and got HuHa drama.
Proved the saying that "Think before what you ask for, you may get it".

SM - Loved the verbal duel between zoya and Razia. Two fantastic actress, capable of making an ordinary scene extra ordinary. They share a very easy rapport which is pleasing to the viewers in spite of them being enemies. Asad V2 re-entry in QH and entry in SM was well written with some good dialogues and he executed it good, if not the best. Anyways for the past few months, we have stopped expecting the best, so was good.
Eagerly awaiting for real Asad scenes to start, after all the drama. Badi Bi's wheel chair is put to good use.
Rashid developed a spine, but has he developed a voice?

Overall an episode matching the monday blues.

The whole Qureshi drama is being handled by team B. They cook up the story at the time of the shoot. No one knows where it is headed. That's the only way to explain it.

I hate the HuHa track myself. Why should Humy fall in love with him. Might as continue with the hate thing till my Ayaan is back. Ok now for the rational me, I am only barely watching their scenes. I don't enjoy watching Mohit do a Aamir, the Aamir I was in love with.

Yes that scene was good. But my anticipation for the V2.0 was so high, I was only paying half attention to it.😆

Yes. I saw the promo and it was good. They are giving RV a lot of angry scenes right now. I guess they want SJ/Shalini to develop an offscreen rapport with RV before they put in their one on one scenes. offscreen chemistry makes for even better onscreen chemistry
Rashid developed a spine, but has he developed a voice?
I am really not interested in this man and his doings. For real. I hate both the mother/son duo with a passion.
Overall an episode matching the monday blues.

I was pleasantly impressed by RV's BASS!!! his acting and dialogue delivery were top class at this point and he portrayed certain subtleties such as shivering posture due to overwhelming anger and intensity in the eyes very well. However, I felt his voice was a little on softer side than required for the scene but I hope he will improve on that with time. Subliminally I might be comparing with old Asad, which might have clouded my sensibilities in appreciating Raquesh style Asad to the fullest. Camera angles were great but the impact would have been better if the scene was shown continuously instead of being shown in 2 parts with interruption of Haider and Humaira scene.

I too was wondering about the wardrobe change, due to replacement, face and voice of Asad is understandably different but what was the need to change the colors of his clothes? Purple color was not bad but would prefer to see Asad in blacks and greys.

PS: As Asad's existing wardrobe do not fit Raqesh and new wardrobe that fits him is not ready, which might have prompted Raqesh to use his own clothes until new wardrobe is ready and he don't own any blacks and greys? 😆
