I'm not going to try and sound all-knowing with regards to the claims surrounding KSG's unprofessional behavior/drinking on sets etc. I haven't a clue about the reality of the situation and frankly, neither do the whiners here but when has good sense ever prevailed over fanaticism?
My bone of contention is with the creatives - WHY in heck's name wasn't AsYa's story (at the very least) wrapped up, if it was a known fact to the team that the male lead planned on taking off after a year?!
THREE failed attempts at a nikah, a HIGHLY DISGUSTING AND DISTURBING scene between the male lead and the bitch of a vamp who refused to piss off from the face of the earth and instead ate up precious screen space/time, a ridiculously executed and meaningless invalid marriage between the female lead and a bratty man-boy, a love triangle between three old cretins I didn't really give two shits about and then a ridiculous amount of screen space dedicated to the good ol' USELESS Qureshis' and whatever the heck they got up to every goddamn episode.
I shamelessly lied every time I said I watched the show because the overall storyline was interesting. While it is mostly good, the truth is I sat through ALL this bullshit for shallow reasons, namely, in the hopes of seeing Asad and Zoya marry, go on a honeymoon and have babies. That's it.
But what will I get instead? Forget Asad even pecking Zoya on the cheek, let alone a nikah between the two, no. I will supposedly get an alien Asad sauntering into Siddiqui Mansion with a facial transplant. How WONDERFUL. I am so pissed off right now at the fact that after investing over a YEAR in a fictional couple, not just me, but SO many of us will not even get the ONE thing we have been endlessly begging for, for months - a marriage between the couple we love and have been tirelessly rooting for since day one.
I hope to God that by some miraculous miracle, Karan and Surbhi do another show together in the future because I honestly believe their amazing chemistry was underutilized in this show. There was so much potential (read: their ZRA performance) it makes me cry.
I have nothing against Raqesh but I feel nothing will ever be the same. Not QH, not AAK and certainly not my AsYa :( The general storyline is interesting at the moment, but ugh :(
Love you to bits SJ but AsYa's story came to a close for me just as the scene where they were last portrayed by KaBhi ended. Get well soon to Grover and all the best to my bb SJ. It's not going to be easy creating that certain level of comfort and chemistry with practically a stranger.
This show was a temporary life-ruiner and getting so attached to this couple was a huge mistake.
Zee really should go suck lemons. Morons.
