For Zee TV, the PH or whosoever it may concern. I have been a viewer of Qubool hai since the very beginning and have been dedicatedly watching it since then. In the first week itself it managed to win mye heart with the brilliant cast, exemplary acting, editing and direction. Especially the lead pair played by Karan Singh Grover as Asad Ahmed Khan and Surbhi Jyoti as Zoya Farooqui. Their chemistry and powerful acting made it a treat for me to look forward to 9:30p.m every weekday.
The show went simply great during the first seven or eight months. But then it slowly started to go downhill with the cheap and disgusting tactics shown to be used by the villian Tanveer. But we kept on watching for our leads Asad and Zoya whom we lovingly call "AsYa".
We were all extremely glad when this track ended, but then there came another nasty shock for us in the form of an accidental nikaah between Zoya and Ayaan. Leaving the fact that it was completely and utterly invalid, the way it was shown was completely illogical and nonsensical. Is it even remotely possible for two healthy and sane individuals to get married "accidentally"? And then came another more idiotic track where two brothers trade Zoya so that their suicidal blade-happy sister can get married to the son of a disgusting and revolting woman Haseena. When the lead actor Karan Singh Grover protested against this, nobody listened.
During the first seven months the show was extremely popular and achieved high rankings in terms of TRPs. But during the next four-five months the condition was exactly the opposite. The once gripping storyline involving a family feud, murder, romance and comedy was now an illogical and disturbing story. Many viewers had left at this point, but fans like me stayed on and went through all the crap that the production house and creatives could throw at us, only for our lead pair Karan Singh Grover and Surbhi Jyoti.
The track ended, much to our relief. But being the lead actor KSG was totally sidelined after all this. More and more of screen time was being devoted to the increasingly boring and obnoxious Qureshi house and he got a screen time of five minutes or even less during a week. In these circumstances, which lead actor will not get frustrated and lose interest? I surely won't blame him!
He has been terminated on grounds of unprofessionalism. If unprofessionalism is defined by shooting for long hours, barefooted, in 49C with a high fever, then yes KSG is unprofessional. If unprofessionalism is defined by continuing to shoot after getting injured, not once, but twice, then yes, KSG is unprofessional. If unprofessionalism is defined by continuing to do a show where there is no story, even after your contract has expired then yes, definitely KSG is unprofessional.
He is the most dedicated, most talented and the most hardworking actor on Indian television today. Despite being ill and undergoing treatment he agreed to devote another four months of his time to the show, just for us, his fans. Any sick person needs rest, then why couldn't Karan be given his much deserved break? Is he not human? With skillfull negotiation a good conclusion could be achieved, then why was he defamed with such baseless accusations? He gave his two hundred percent to this show, but what did he getvin return? The storyline got weaker, the ratings dropped and just when we thought that things were finally getting better, that qubool hai was finally coming back on track, this happened. Karan Singh Grover could easily be given his break during which the show could be taken forward by Surbhi's character Zoya. After which all secrets could be revealed and the show could be well wrapped up within four months with its original cast. But no, you people had to do something like this which ultimately had the opposite effect. You wanted to defame KSG? Well, sorry to say Zee TV, but it is your reputation which is at stake now. Whatever fame the show got was because of its leads Karan Singh Grover and Surbhi Jyoti. Our KaBhi. If you take one of them out of the equation, the whole show will come tumbling down.
Nobody in the entire television industry has the capacity or capability to replace KSG. The image of Asad Ahmed Khan that has been burnt into our hearts and minds is that of KSG. We will not accept anyone in his place, no matter what. Frankly, I don't see the reason of running a show which no one will watch. Its either KSG as Asad or KSG as Asad. Any other person is unacceptable. Remember that fans can make or break a show. And if we choose to break a show, nobody can save it.
We demand a public apology for Karan Singh Grover. He could have easily filed a defamation suit against Zee TV but he chose not to, even after you people back stabbed him. Bring our KSG back and apologise. If you cannot, or rather, do not have the guts to bring him back to the show, then put your show off air. You will only incur further losses if you replace KSG. If things can be settled amicably, then please do the right thing. Bring him back and give the show a proper closure.
