CHAPTER TWENTY SIX (Last Chapter) :
'Ok. I am coming there.' He said and disconnected the call and took his shirt from the floor.
'What happened ?' Zoya asked him again.
'Abu got heart attack last night and ----' He stopped he couldn't say it. Zoya was shocked.
'Ya Allah ! and what ?' She asked him.
'And he died in the hospital !' Asad said in low voice. Zoya looked at him with her eyes wide open.
'Wait for me, I am coming with you.' Zoya said after a while and stood up to get ready while Asad was still sitting on the bed.
She came out of the bathroom and looked at him. His face was expressionless, she couldn't see anything.
'Asad ?' She came near him and kept her hand on his shoulder. He looked at her but couldn't say anything. She took him into a hug and tears fell from his eyes even though he controlled hard.
She understood his pain, he hated his father but still he was his father. He never wanted this to happen. He hugged her more tightly.
'Asad ! Calm down please.' She didn't know how to handle this situation. She wiped her own tears to control herself.
'Lets go. Go and tell ami if she wants to come.' He said while moving back.
'I will be back in five minutes.' She wiped her tears again and walked out of the room.

'Asad ! let me drive.' She said to him while coming out of the house with Dilshad.
'No, I am fine.' He said to her while moving to the front seat.
'Please, just go and sit there.' She said to him again and he walked to the passenger seat while Dilshad was quiet all this while.
She started driving the car and Asad told her the address to Rashid's house.
'Who told Saad about this ?' Dilshad asked him but there was no answer. Zoya looked at him, he was lost somewhere else.
'Asad !' Zoya kept her hand on his shoulder and he looked at her.
'Puphi is asking something.' Zoya said to him.
'Who told Saad about this ?' She asked him again and tried to hide her tears.
'His father is abu's friend, I don't know much details. He got huge loss in his business and he couldn't bear it. I couldn't get anything else he was saying on the phone.' Asad said while looking down.
'Don't tell Najma about this, she is expecting.' Dilshad reminded them. Zoya could feel little sobs in Dilshad's voice.
'I won't.' Asad said in low voice.

Ten days have passed after that. Asad went to meet Rashid's family every other day. His half siblings were never interested in him before but now they accepted him as their brother. He adviced his younger brother to handle Rashid's business in London while he will handle his only business in Mumbai. Asad wasn't interested in his business but there was no other option. According to Rashid's will, Asad got half of his property aswell.
'Are they fine now ?' Zoya asked him about his family as soon as he enterred the room.
'They went back to London today. I just dropped them to airport now.' He said and sat on the couch.
'Oh ! You didn't tell me that they are going back today ?' She said and sat near him.
'I forgot.' He said and laid back on the couch and closed his eyes. She looked at him and took a deep breath. She wanted him to share his feelings but he wasn't talking to her about anything from last week. She took his arm and placed her head on his chest and hugged him tightly.
'Are you fine ?' She asked him like she was doing from last few days.
'Yes.' He said and holded her from her waist but his answer was still the same.
'You want to share anything ?' She asked him in hope to listen something.
'No, I told you I am fine.' He said. His eyes still closed.
'Asad lets go out ?' She said suddenly and he opened his eyes.
'Where ? And Why ?' He asked her.
'I don't know. Anywhere you want. Lets go for a walk atleast.' She said annoyingly.
'At this time ?' He asked her while looking at the clock which said 9 o'clock. She smiled at him and stood up.
'Are you asking that ? Remember those nights when we used to go out for ice cream after puphi went to sleep mostly after 12 o'clock ?' She reminded him about there friendship days and he smiled. She was happy to see his smile after so many days.
'Yes, I remember everything.' He said and his eyes were wet again. She understood he was thinking about his father again.
'So we are going right ?' She asked him and he stood up.
'Lets go. I need to get some fresh air.' He said while walking out. She came out with him.
'Puphi-- I mean ami we are going for a walk.' Zoya said to Dilshad who was watching TV and called her ami as told by Dilshad many times in last few days.
'Ok.' Dilshad said with a smile and they both came out of the house.
'Asad do you love me ?' She asked him as soon as they came on the footpath.
'You have any doubts ?' He asked her.
'No, I don't. Just tell me do you love me ?' She asked him again.
'Yes.' He said while looking down.
'Since when ?' She asked him and he looked at her.
'Why you want to know that ?' He asked her.
'I don't know. It just came to my mind as soon as we came out for the walk.' She said confusedly.
'What a logic !' He smiled. He was feeling a bit better now.
'Don't make me fight with you, just tell me since when do you love me ?' She asked again in stern tone.
'You won't tell anyone about this if I tell you ?' He asked her while walking inside the nearby park and moved toward a bench.
'I won't and please keep walking, I don't want to sit.' She said to him and he moved back to the jogging track.
'But why do you want to know that ?' He asked her again annoyingly.
'Asad !' She said in stern tone and he smiled while looking down and walking slowly.
'I think I was 8 or 9 years old when I saw you for the first time, you came to our house for dinner with your family and as soon as I saw you I prayed to God and booked you for myself.' He said while looking away and she smiled.
'I loved everything about you that day but as soon as I noticed you eating like a monkey I thought to think again but I think it was too late of me, Allah already granted my wish.' He said with a sad sigh and she looked at him in disbelief.
'Allah Miyaan ! What's wrong with you Asad ? If you were 9 then I must be almost 5 years old and you expect me to eat properly ?' She asked him with her mouth in 'O' shape.
'I never ate like that when I was 5 years old therefore I am still the same and you always eat like that therefore you are also still the same.' He said mischievously.
'Thats because I enjoy eating, I live to eat unlike others who only eat to live. Anyways, just continue.' She said to him and he smiled.
'Continue what ? Then we became friends when you came to live at our house, you always missed your parents and I tried my best to cheer you up and keep you busy with Najma and me.' He said to her and she smiled as she rememberred their childhood memories.
'And you left me after that.' She pouted.
'I never wanted to but things got changed.' He said while looking at her. She was quiet for a while.
'Then why did you change your wish ?' She asked while looking at her own moving feet and he looked at her in confusion.
'I mean why did you wish that I should get someone else but not you ? You liked someone else there ?' She asked him.
'Never ! You were the only girl I loved and dreamt about. But when I came back after years and understood your pain in more mature way and made you love your life again; I mean I never want to see you going through all that again so I always wished that you should get someone who deserves you and can give you a happy life.' He said while looking down.
'Why do you think you don't deserve me ?' She asked him.
'I don't deserve anything specially after what I did to my father.' He said in low voice.
'You have done nothing Asad, this is how it was supposed to happen.' She said to him.
'Don't take me wrong, I never wanted to marry her even I don't want to but wasn't there any other way I could have handled this situation ?' He asked her confusedly.
'Were there any other ways ?' She asked him in confusion and he was quiet for a moment.
'Asad stop regretting, I can't see you like this. You are a normal human being and this is how it was supposed to happen.' She said while taking small steps with him.
'He was never like this, we were also a happy family but he made me hate everything.' He said and she felt relieved that he is sharing his feelings.
'Whenever they fought they used to yell that they are regretting because of this marriage and are bound because of me and Najma.' She heard him saying. This wasn't anything new to her, he had told her this thing many times before and she understood very well how much he was hurt with those words.
'I will never do that to our kids and you won't do that too.' He said in stern tone and she blushed at that topic.
'I will keep that in my mind.' She said with a naughty smile.
'If you have to fight then you are supposed to call me inside the room so they can't hear us.' He said in the same tone again.
'Anything else ?' She asked him with a smile.
'Yes, you won't share any of our personal problems with them.' He said.
'Ok. You must have decided their names aswell because thats the very first thing, isn't it ?' She asked him. He looked at her and she tried to hide her smile and he understood where his track was going.
'I don't want anything wrong to happen that's why I always plan everything about my future.' He said sheepishly.
'Marriage was also not in your plan but you married me so that means nothing goes on what you decide, its always God who decides everything. We are just supposed to pray for the best to happen.' She said to him.
'Don't remind me about marriage, I still remember those days when I was single and I used to come here with a very sweet and beautiful girl.' He said to annoy her.
'I am still sweet and beautiful.' She said. She was more worried about her appearance then the sadness in his voice for getting married.
'Yes you are beautiful, I think more beautiful than before.' He said with a smile.
'And what about my sweet nature ?' She asked him.
'Don't mind but I am not sure about that anymore.' He said sadly.
'Allah Miyaan ! What's wrong with you Asad ? Atleast I am more sweet than you are. Even Puphi says I am made with sweets actually.' She said proudly with glittering eyes and he chuckled.
'I don't think there is any bitter sweet in this world.' He said to annoy her.
'Well there is one, you just need to go back home and look in the mirror.' She snapped back.
'But you are here, how am I supposed to find you there ?' He asked her with a smirk on his face.
'Thats because I am not supposed to be there, you are supposed to stand alone infront of the mirror.' She said and he pointed toward the gate to go out.
'But I want to see you standing with me everytime I look into the mirror.' He said while walking out and she smiled. She loved these little gestures he always gave her in their fights.
'Wait ! Lets go this way, I am hungry and I want pizza.' She pouted.
'Yes, how can we finish this beautiful night without a pizza ?' He smiled sarcastically.
'Just come with me !' She said.
'But I forgot to bring my wallet.' He said with a satisfactory smile.
'How can you do this ?' She asked in shock.
'I don't know, I was too tired that time and took out all the things from my pocket and forgot to put back.' He said and she started walking on the footpath.
'Zoya don't get mad and try to understand.' He walked behind her and holded her hand.
'I understand.' She said with a sad sigh.
'That's like a good wife.' He said mischievously.
'We can order pizza at home, can we ?' She asked him suddenly and he could imagine her eating pizza on his bed.
'Yes, we can.' He said sadly while playing with her fingers.
'That's like a good husband.' She said and giggled as she understood what he was thinking about.
'You know we can do anything better than eating pizza.' He said with a smirk on his face. She stopped walking and came near him.
'We can do that after we eat pizza.' She whisperred in his ear naughtilly and kissed him on his cheek while moving back. He looked at her surprisingly, she winked at him and he looked here and there to make sure no one saw her kissing him.
'But we can eat pizza later right ?' He asked her to annoy her.
'No ! Pizza comes first.' She said with stern tone.
'Before me aswell ?' He asked her sadly.
'No, not you ofcourse.' She said while looking away which annoyed him more. He holded her from her arm and moved her closer.
'I should be always your first priority, remember that.' He said in serious tone and she blushed.
'You are my only priority.' She said and pecked her lips with his. He smiled and she moved back and started walking again.
'Remember not to forget your wallet when you are coming out with me next time.' She said to him.
'Ok.' He said with a smile.
'And I can eat pizza anytime I want.' She said.
'Anything else ?' He asked her.
'And not to stop me from eating pizza on the bed.' She said while walking inside the main gate.
'Now that's not fair !' He said in disbelief while walking behind her.
'Just say yes !' She said to him and turned back.
'Ok fine. Yes but you won't make a mess on the bed.' He said even he knew its useless.
'I never do that.' She said in disbelief as if he misunderstood her.
'Oh sorry ! Its me who is messy.' He corrected his words and smiled.
'That's like a good husband.' She repeated her words and pulled his cheeks and walked inside. He smiled and walked behind her and closed the main door.
