Asad and Zoya have undergone many major character-developing situations - and that's what makes them who they are today.
Asad was a idiot in the beginning. He was judgemental, quick to form conclusions, easy to anger, and regressive. It was really only after the Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai scene of Zoya's fire-affected arm that he truly began to become the head-over-heels in love, emotional man today.
Zoya had to undergo all the treatment from him for many months. And now, I still get angry sometimes due to his weakness and over-hesitance to take charge. He's turned into a marshmellow at times.
However, since September, she has also been exhibiting immaturity in thoughts and action (and hey, she still does, just because I am a SJ/Zoya fan doesn't make me blind to character loopholes) but she, through time, is changing. It's BOTH her immaturity and Asad's stupidity that landed them in MaBurt in the first place.
Don't you see? First Asad changed - and now it's Zoya's turn to grow up and claim her love. And it's Asad's duty to become the lion he once was - and claim her with PRIDE from the SM.
Both of them are beautiful in their love- because they are both real, flawed human beings. They're constantly messing up, and learning from their mistakes. Now both need to, for their love, take charge and show the world through dialogue, and not eye contact, that they are each others'.
