The intellectuals of Tumblr, the exalted minds who see beyond Asya, and the analytical demographic of this exhilarating forum have waxed eloquent on "The Story "of Qubool Hai and the Final Destination. 😆The synopsis has been torn apart and Case Laws written and rewritten about it. Time and again the theory of Zoya's father has been put forward to support the twists and turns of this macabre plot. 😉 I have some thoughts on this that I wanted to share, so here goes!
At the heart of the synopsis are the three protagonists. A lot of people think that this is Zoya's story. Of course it is. But it is also Asad and Ayaan's story. And by corollary, the story of their siblings.
What is the end game of Qubool Hai? Well according to the synopsis, it is the reunification of the two families. And this is the Holy Grail. IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT ZOYA-GAFFUR!
What are the show stoppers to this end game so far? The Secret of Qubool Hai ? Lets recap.
1. Razia murdered Zoya's mother
2. Rashid thinks that he is responsible for a woman's death, who happens to be Zoya's mother.
3. Gaffur is complicit in the murder of Zoyas' mother.
4. Gaffur and Razia have abandoned Zoya and left her in an orphanage.
5. Rashid has abandoned his first family on the basis of his guilt and threat of facing prison over the death of the woman, who happens to be Zoya's mother.
So where do we start? Is it necessary for Gaffur and Zoya to know about each other? Is there any other way to set up for the end game? What about Rashid? If Badi Bi were to tell him that he has been framed, he would likely believe her. And that would start the ball rolling as well. Would it reunite the two families? Which two families?
The reunification of the families alludes to the families of Ayaan and Asad reuniting. It alludes to the siblings reuniting. It may or may not allude to the wives of Rashid Ahmed Khan declaring a truce. It does not IMO allude to Zoya reuniting with the Siddiquis. That would be like Harry Potter reuniting with Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia and Dudley!
Lets digress for a bit here. Why was the second pair (Ayra) introduced in the story? Because logically you cannot reunite two brothers families over a love triangle! Zoyaan - whether one sided or not, would definitely be a show stopper to the end game. Remember that in the first episode, Zoya and Humeira were seen before Ayaan and Asad! The flirtation between Ayaan and Humeira was established before Ayaan laid eyes on Zoya. And the official introduction of Ayaan to Zoya face to face happened after Asya was set in stone, and Maaburt kicked off nicely. Ayra went through their own ordeal and misunderstandings before they became an item. Too much water under the bridge for Ayaan to vacillate now. OK, enough with the digression.
Ayaan and Asad are in love with the daughters of Gaffur. The hard facts to swallow are these - that Gaffur was complicit in the murder of Asad's bride's mother, that Ayaan's bride's mother murdered the mother of Asad's bride, and before Rashid can be proved innocent, the idea that Rashid seems to have murdered Asad's bride's mother will cause further havoc.
Zoya reuniting with her father is not The Holy Grail. However moving the idea is, it is going to bring only pain to her. That is because her mother's fate is indelibly tied to her father. It is when and only when the whole truth is revealed that the families will unite.
Simultaneous Equations:
Razia - Badi Bi. Badi Bi knows the entire story, except for the fact that Zoya is actually the missing daughter of Gaffur.
Razia - Tanveer. Tanveer knows that Zoya is the missing daughter of Gaffur. Does she know more --- I think she does, since she and Razia listened to the first recording together. She knows that Rashid was framed. But does she know that the person who was murdered was Zoya's mother? She has not played that card yet.
So, dear readers, when we solve for Razia, we will head towards the climax of Qubool Hai
The people who have the pieces of the puzzle are too immersed in their own personal agenda to put things together(Tanveer, Badi Bi). Music boxes and photographs are not going to cut it. If they had any weight, we would be in a different place right now.
Just as Tanveer's pregnancy report was not instrumental at all in her downfall, but her own admission the final nail in the coffin for Jaanu, it will be Razia who will break the news to Gaffur about Zoya. This will be because she is compelled to do so, and she can only be compelled if Humeira's life is at risk. We must make note of the fact that Zoya is smart enough to DISCOVER the truth about a lot of things, but has so far been unlucky in FORCING accountability. It is her innate goodness and purity of heart that has made fate smile on her and deliver her from harm. At least that's how the writers have portrayed it! Zoya cannot win against Razia's credibility, just as she could not against Tanveer. But fate has other things planned for Razia. And Zoya will be saved again.
Having said that, in the jail track, Zoya will prevail because when she does something for her Mr. Khan, Muqaddar is her Godfather!
When the truth about Gaffur is revealed, it will be through Zoya's biological connection with Humeira. Somewhere after that point, Asad and Zoya will undergo another crisis in their relationship as they are confronted with the possibility that Rashid killed Zoya's mother! And when the final truth is revealed to the extended siblings, Humeira will have to deal with the fact that her mother murdered Zoya's mother!
Meanwhile dear readers, enjoy the endless speculation on whether Ayaan will fall for Zoya, whether Imraan will get away with being the Father of the Nation, whether Farhan will dance happily through the red light districts of Bhopal as he turns Nikhat into an addict to sleeping pills. Zoyaan is NOT the track for the reunification of the families, not is it the track for the Gaffur reveal.
Hopefully the Zoyaan track is a social message track which deals with forced marriages, internet malpractices (Tanveer, FB, T, dirty pictures!) and will eventually release the Khan sisters from their dungeon-like sasural!
At worst, Zoyaan will break the bromance between Ayaan and Asad. Wait, is that necessarily a bad thing? (Voh mera bhaai hai! Mera Bhaai hai voh! Biff! Kick! Punch! --- episode 46)
My fond hope is that when Nikhat and Najma leave Haseena, Nikhat will move to KV! She will come into her own there and give Shireen some rude shocks in future interactions. Now that's a social message for you!
When the families reunite, it will have to be without Gaffur and Razia and possibly, Shireen.
On a final note, I am looking forward to the story playing out, as long as we have Asya!!!!! Bas Asya settle ho jaaye, yeh meri dua hai! Haan aur Ayra bhi!
