Chapter 14:
Valentine's day will be a promise:
He was laughing hard clutching his stomach when i finished telling him the whole "mission marriage asad".
Yes, I told him all about kaka's trap to get him married. Kaka planned about making use of his double century and Asad's promise and Asad's oh-so-famous line that he let in to kaka "Dont you want to see all those wonderful times?".
But what can i possibly do when he asked me? Asad just snuck upon me while was cooking and asked me what i was thinking. I was startled and let my mouth to say "mission" and then the curious Asad with his narrowed eyes and accusing glance told me to speak ahead and that moment i knew the time has come. I can never stand his accusing glance and I spilled the beans.
He recovered after a few minutes and asked
A: why are you up so early?
ME: i should have been the one to ask you because iam always up at this time, maybe you failed to notice all these days. why are you up early?
A: yeah! right. i..uh..actually wanted to-t...wish...a happy valentine's day...?
He said in a meek voice. I chuckled and said
ME: you dont have to stutter so much asad...happy valentine's day to you too.
He smiled and sat down.
ME: coffee?
A: sure!
By the time we were finished with our coffee, everyone slowly started making their down to the dining.Ayaan came first and i wished him
ME: Bonjour!
(good morning!)
Ay: ...huh?
Me: BONJOUR!
I said stressing on the letters.
Ay: err...jour..bon..?
Asad gagged on his food and humi, who was coming down burst out laughing. I glared at ayaan and thought of concentrating on my food.
H: so, what is the sleepyhead doing up so early?
Ay: oye hello! iam not a sleepyhead, you are the one who is at all times sleeping. sleepy like a sloth.
H: how dare you? you are the sloth.
Ay: no, you!
H: you!!!
T: enough! both of you! dont you have any other business rather than shouting like loudspeakers.
Ay: yes, tanny is right!...i have many other work rather than wasting my time here with you...
H: ha!! same here!!!
Ay: oohh!! today is valentine's day, i have many hot datings with many hot girls...!!!!
T: oh yeah! i too have a date with the hottest guy in town.
I turned to face tannu and asked with a stern face
ME: who?
T: Jordan!!!
ME: Jordan who?
T: Jordan Macnusburty as in the name of the guy in christmas party!!
She said giving a sidelong glance at asad who remained focused on eating. I felt something up with her look at asad.
ME: you have been in contact with him for all these days and you never told me about it.
T: umm...yeah i've been in contact with him. what to do? he fell for my charms like anyother guy and then we shared numbers and now here iam all ready to go for shopping as i gotta buy a dress for the date i have tonight.
I felt my suspicion grow as this was the same tanveer who a few months back was refrained from dating or any kind of meeting with any unknown guy.Even that arbaaz guy, he was her best friend in social networking but still then she refused to meet him and now what happened to this girl suddenly.
She again looked at asad but with an exasperated expression.
T: hey asad!
A: uh..yes?
T: will you take me to date tonight?
A: sure but why? he wouldnt pick you up?
T: err..no, no. i told him not to, because...i have other plans.
ME: care to share??
I bumped in the middle. but still she wouldnt turn her face from asad.
T: i..i am asking you so that we both can enjoy the date, while i just dump him...he is just been a pain in the back for some time...you know...
A: uh...
He looked at me for an answer. i didnt know what to say so i just shrugged.
A: uh-hh...sure okay.
Again he looked at me for permission as if a child seeking permission from his mother to go out and play. i just smiled at him in an approval for which i was rewarded with his wide grin.
Ay: But didnt you say that he was the hottest guy and just a moment ago, you were all excited for shopping and date and...all...
Ayaan said narrowing his eyes at her. I could see tanveer stutter and gulp and then answer
T: oh! thats nothing. well, iam always excited about shopping but i guess its just the excitement to dump him.
Ay: Ah! I see...
He said his face sulking.
H: Why Ayaan? Thinking about the girls who get excited while dumping you?
Ay: What!! No, no one dumps the AYAAN!
H: oh really?None believes you!!
Ayaan sulked even more.
This made all of us giggle.
We got prepared for the day and the triple Ns and humeira were with kaka.
A: umm zoya!
ME: hmm!
A: Come with me! I shall drop you at your work place.
Me: No Asad, its okay. I will take the ducati!
I no more consider the bike to be mine because now, iam living with two guys who are hell bent on driving the bike. Its more like their bike than mine.
A: Zoya, come with me and thats final!
Z: But how will I come back!?
A: With me ofcourse! I will come for you and sweep you off your feet!
I glared at him and he grinned back.
We drove off while bickering about that his office is a way long from my work place and that he would waste his time while he said that he has enough time to reach his office.
He dropped me at the "ESMERALDA's"
A: Hey! Call me when you are finished.
I nodded and waved him bye.
And then I entered into my work place.It was a cozy and warm small cafe. The fresh smell of coffee entered into my nostrils and I inhaled deeply. I had liked this place, when we came here before.
I walked to the counter and asked the oldman who owned this cafe about my job.
He gave me the waitress uniform and thank god! it wasnt any shorty-short skirt but just an apron. A typical waitstaff apron.He explained about my job which wasnt much and told me to take orders from a few tables.

It was lunch and my 'boss' -as i liked to called him- asked me if i can come and have lunch with him and his wife.
He was a very kind and polite oldman aged 62 and his name was Lionel Jacker.
His wife, Joanna Jacker was 58 and she too was cook here. She likes to cook and she does delicious dishes.Even at this age, her cooking skills are a blast!
I enjoyed the lunch which Joanna offered me. They were a beautiful, loving,warm couple.
They were sweet towards me and when i questioned about why none of the other two waitresses and cooks didnt have lunch with them, they smilingly said, " Who would like to associate with old people like us? We are glad that you didnt turn us down when we asked you to."
ME: You speak english!?
This is was my first question. So stupid of me!
They laughed and nodded.
L: Yes, we do!Actually france is our homeland but we were married in California and settled in there.But then, we moved back here and our daughter 'Esmeralda' was born.
Me: wow! you know the saying " OLD IS GOLD" and you two are a golden couple.
They smiled softly.
We chatted and i learnt that they named the cafe as of their daughter's.

A few more minutes and my work would be over so I called Asad to let him know.I went over to the counter and thanked them for today. It was so nice.And by the end of the day,we three became great friends. I nick named them as Leo for Lionel and Jo for Joanna and they liked that too.
I came out and there was Asad standing at the opposite end of the road waving at me as if we meet after ten long years. But then, 'so soon!' i was astonished. How come he is here soon?
And in my thinking,I failed to notice a few men glaring at me with serious eyes and when I noticed, I was pulled.

Hey guys how are you all????Sorry i disappeared for all these day because of exams, but now i wont be invisible anymore.I have rocked my exams and here have an update to celebrate it.
Thanks for being patient and i hardly believe that i would be left with any readers at all.
And yeah sorry again as i said that i would update on 9th but i wasnt able to sorry.
