I just watched the new BTS videos. And now I can say that I am officially depressed. Nikkah, valid or invalid, looks like Zoya is left to rot in SM pagalkhaana.
But I still have no idea why Asad, Ayaan, Nikhat or Zoya are being blamed behind all of this for the situation. According to me, they've all behaved true to their characters. If you ask me they've all been like this forever. No surprises there.
Asad - This guy so deeply and unconditionally in love with his Ms.Farooqi, the guy who couldn't even bear the words when Zoya said she would run away from him even for fun, why would he himself would send her away from him? The Asad that we knew has always been a devoting and a sacrificing brother and a son putting his siblings and mother before himself. What do you expect him to do when he knew that the life of his dear sister was in danger??? Ofcourse there are other logical ways to solve the situation(like talk to Haseena bhi ofcourse or confront her with some jewellery or a bungalow whatever) But think about the bigger and shocking truth that Asad had learned just here. The truth that his Zoya is now married to his brother. And Zoya has herself acknowledged him of the fact. Dont start the nikkah validity argument here. No one is in their right mind is trying to question the nikkah. And the qazi saab and the elders is so hell bent on making it a very real and a valid one. All that the guy knows is that a nikkah has happened and he has just lost the love of his life to his brother. Knowing the Asad that respects his traditions so much, wouldn't it be immoral of him to now let Zoya stay? He didn't make the decision for Zoya. He did what he felt was the right and moral thing to do in that situation.
Zoya - We all know she is brave, stands up for what she believes in and can speak up for herself. Then why didn't she speak up when Asad literally dragged her out of the KM you ask. Well she did as much as she could. Despite being modern and outspoken, she has always been seeking the approval of Mr.Khan and accepting his decisions(well atleast in some cases. Like when she wanted his approval eventhough she wanted to stay back in India. There are other cases like when she left the house without informing Asad. What can I say? She is crazy and we know it) And above all she believes that a nikkah has happened. Eventhough she knows it is a mistake, it is a mistake on her part altogether and she has yet to find a way to correct it. Isn't losing the love of her life a big price to pay for a mistake? Yes it is. But what other choice does she have now? I hope she speaks up atleast at the right moment. But being the self sacrificing soul that she is I wouldn't be surprised if she does the opposite.
Ayaan - What can I say about this guy? He has always been IMPULSIVE and will always remain to be. He doesn't see anything except what is right in front of him. Right now it is Nikhat and her life. Being so determined to set things right for her he doesn't even look around the other loved ones being hurt, be it Asad, Zoya or Humeira. Like in yesterday's episode did the guy even look back a minute to see Humeira bawling behind him? Or when Zoya held onto Asad the minute he let go off her arm? If he had he wouldn't have even thought about going through with this. It is like him setting fire to Imran's car without even realising Imran being in it all over again. He doesn't even realize the depth of the situations until he is face with the consequences. He is flawed this way. Well nobody's perfect. We can't expect him to change now all of a sudden? Can we?
Nikhat - The victim in all of this. She has put up this brave girl facade all along for her family. All she wanted was to relieve her family off the burden of marrying her into a good family. Think about it. She was raised this way; to be a caring wife and a mother; to just raise a family; not to be a woman of today. I mean her brave girl act worked till now. But after Haseena bhi's fiasco everything came back crashing down. And so did her facade. How much more can the girl take? I am not justifying her suicide attempt though. So no bashing please.
With all of this, the only person who is making any sense is Rashid. Sorry man for all those times I've cursed you for being spineless. He is the only one trying to find some way out of this situation other than this. He is the only one who has even realised the depth of the feelings involved in all of this.
So to all those who are blaming the characters I hope my explanation helps. But I am open to your views too.
All I can say is I am disappointed by the way the things are unfolding too( especially after the BTS' today) But I am enjoying the drama as well. I am amazed by the sheer brilliance the cast brings on-screen. So I am gonna stick around till everything is sorted.
