Well written post yet again 👏.
Everybody seems to be going through some kind of a test at some point in their lives. I'm sure Zoya will emerge a winner but the manner in which this is written by Creatives and the treatment given to the writing is something unacceptable to me as a viewer.

Why does Zoya make that statement over and over again?

In the episode of the trellis, she says that her father left her mother and when she came to know of it, she promised herself that she would never let that happen to her.

Main Janaab Rashid Ahmed Khan ka beta hoon. - Implying that Asads greatest fear is becoming like what he perceives his father to be - a cheat, who broke promises and commitments. He is afraid to hurt those whom he loves - not atypical for children who go through family breakups thinking somehow that its their fault and fearing that they will repeat the sins of their fathers.

And so we have two strong willed people making judgements about their parents and their life choices, in the form of their own beliefs about themselves.

Asad went through a horrifying breakdown. Such a strong man, so morally upright, who could not bear to look at himself even after what he was made to believe that he did - how much he agonized over it, and how much his instinct and destiny pulled him back to Zoya. She went through a lot of self doubt and heart break, she thought that he had ended up betraying her - her idol had fallen from his pedestal. The miracle of Ajmer was not the chaddar flying to rescue her. The miracle of Ajmer was that she found the vision to figure out what really happened.

Asads evaluation of himself and his father underwent a sea change after this ordeal. He has not admitted it yet, but he is thinking of his father differently. The confrontation in the rain, amid all the accusations and raging was a corrupted reflection of a certain empathy for his flawed father.

Now with the apparent nikaah happening, it is Zoyas turn to lose her confidence in herself, to question her beliefs, to question her mothers wisdom, her fathers integrity, to understand that everything is not as it seems. Her credibility will come under question - and it has not yet, thus far. Yes Mr. Khan did not trust her for the small things, and about Tanveer (Tanveer fooled EVERYONE) , but she always had defenders. Now who will defend her? Is she really going to stand by what she said so blindly?

The Mahabharata is full of stories and examples like this - where ones expressed principles and beliefs can only be put to the test when the world turns upside down. Yudhistira lies, Bhima cheats, Arjuna does not play fair etcetera. (acknowledging bheegi starstruck and a host of others here)

The test can have two outcomes - either your principle stands, or you declared it without thinking of the caveats. Zoya should have had an inkling of the bravado of her statement when she almost got married to Akram - that's why she was so terror stricken when she woke up and asked Asad if the nikaah had really happened. But now, what is she going to do? Will she soul search ? Will she question? Will she grow in character? The highlands of morality are slippery, Zoya - ask your man, he should know more than anyone.

Zoya ran and ran from that Suhaag raat scene until she could not hide anymore, and then she came back and fought for her man. Is she going to run again?

I tell my kids everyday of their lives - You can run but you cannot hide.

Stop running, Zoya - no more orphanages, no more dargahs - stare yourself in the face and question yourself - what really matters in your life?

True love? Famlly? The past? Your future? Your word? Is your word really your word? Or is it a reaction to the fate life handed you?
What is it going to be?

Are you saying that Zoya is wrong to believe that once she marries she will value her marriage vows all her life. I thought this belief is rooted in all of us. I guess Gul wants to teach people to marry but believe hell if I don't like it I can get out of this marriage ASAP infact if I play it smart I can quickly check out what I got and then void it. Hell the muscular big brother is always there as a backup. When did we become so obsessed with love but so cynical about marriage.

Excellent question! My question really is... Will she do so blindly? You are absolutely right... A husband is not a car that you test drive! But ... In these lopsidedly contrived situations that qubool hai creates... Is the appearance of a wedding good enough to be real? Are you really married if you are made to beleve that you are married, or if everyone believes that bout you? Tanveer, the master of illusion is playing in this game. Its a question of the spirit vs. the letter of the law. Yes, marriage should be meant for life... But the second part is between two people who consciously accept each other and agree to be faithful partners etc. if she made a terrible mistake, or was a victim of a diabolical scheme, does that commitment still stand? It is a matter of conviction vs. blind faith. I donn't really have an answer myself! Only questions? 😛

okay so for some odd reason im not able to make a new topic so i'll be expressing my view through this reply post. being a muslim i know for a fact that in islam marriage is not just a matter of saying qubool hai 3 times.. you need to accept the other person wholeheartedly AND FORCED MARIAGES are void in islam. so for those who think that ayaan and zoya may end up marryin because of tanveer then let me just tell you their marriege would be void- since marriage is very easy in islam therefore intention of the people getting married is given foremost priority..
so tanveer forcing them into marriage is out of quetsion but exceptions are always there in case gul madam thinks the contrary and doesnt know much about islamic traditions and all..
no offence, this is just a piece of information i felt like sharing.
and i know this topis has nothing to do with the original post but as i told before, i am not able to make a post seperatly so please pardon my reply.. thank you 😊

Extremely interesting. You must have seen the recent sbs pics. The screen, the kazi and the shocked expressions. Any thoughts on that?

fool's folly.
Zoya loves Asad, but she never said it to him in those words, she only reasured him that once she marries she would keep that promise for life. will she hold her principals at value or follow her heart to be with the man she loves.
how will zoya get out of this situation. or will Ayaan zoya Asad and humeira simply accept this as their fate and go on

Yes I did.. So if I start going in detail I'll have to add a lot more things in order to explain a Muslim wedding.. There are so many things that need to be finalised. My only point was that forced marriages are not allowed in islam- reason being that in a male dominated society islam gives women their own respective rights. But just to tell you need 2 witnesses one of whom is the girl's lawyer (not by profession but just someone who looks into the paperwork an all) and the other is the girl's guardian. But I honestly don't know how gul is going to show the nikaah in this serial.. But hope she doesn't hurt the Muslim sentiments.

So from what you say, this is by no means a real nikaah! But if a video was taken, say by tanveer with only the qubool hai part , miseading, then a lot of people would jump to the wrong concludions?! I think that might be the attempt by the cvs here. Go figure, pretty ridiculous!

Thanks for directing me to your post. I completely agree with what you are saying
As I have said before, Asad and Zoya's story is a mirror image of each other. Zoya follows while Asad leads. Just like Tanveer helped him (indirectly) shatter his beliefs in love, infidelity, insecurity about being like his abbu, Zoya needs a wake up call from her firm belief in this 'tab umar' philosophy. Life doesn't follow a strict and preconceived pattern/. Despiet our beliefs, we are all forced to change ourselves in due course of time.

Zoya's belief in her philosophy shall also shatter because she will realize a loveless marriage means nothing.

Just like Zoya eventually trusted Asad, Asad will also come around and trust Zoya in this situation. Yes, he will be hurt initially (like she was) but in the end he will help her come out of the dumps
