Wishful Thinking: Epi Aug 20

Today's episode was all about wishes- some met and some unmet

Asad-Zoya: They were 'supercute' today as Zoya fulfilled another wish for her Mr. Khan. Asad 'akdu' Ahmed Khan does indeed have an unusual list of wishes but today's wish did give us as insight into his childhood and I actually enjoyed watching his interaction with his 4^th grade teacher. I must say he must have left quite an impression on his teacher because I doubt my 4^th grade teacher remembers so much about me.

BTW, wasn't Tanveer his friend during those days? Dilshad mentioned that everyone teased them that they would marry one day. So, his teacher's claim that he would never find a girl seems a little odd to me or perhaps, Tanveer was just a neighborhood friend and not in the same school. Nevertheless, I enjoyed Mrs. Rodriquez and her cameo. I wish Zoya had said something in defense of her akdu- about how he has changed and is often misunderstood by people. She was quite happy patting her own back- I guess that's Ms Zoya Farooqui for you. Just shows she has still a lot of growing up to do- Gaffur track is calling again.

Ayaan-Humeira: Loved the angst and conflict in their scene. Here, Ayaan wanted to fulfill her wishes but Humeira was not receptive at all. Her only wish- stay away from me- broke Ayaan's heart. At least, Ayaan confessed to himself that he is in love with Humeira. Can I hope this means the end of the dreaded track in QH?

Nikhat-Najma; Unfortunately, their wish is the same and that's why at least one of them will have a major heartbreak tomorrow. Imran, the stud of Bhopal, the most sought after bachelor is in the wish list of two beautiful, but insecure Khan sisters. My wish for them- one day they will both eliminate Imran from their wish list forever!

Are we all ready for an action packed drama filled episode tomorrow?

PS: Some people are wondering which teacher says such a thing to a child. Yes, adults do say such things that have a lasting impression on kids...have experienced it myself so this was unusual in Asad's case but not heard of.

I think the other purpose of the teacher scene was to show that Asad never forgets anything and is very sensitive. I am sure one day, this will come back and bite AsYa relationship because Zoya will say or do something that will deeply hurt his feelings.

Harini and I were just discussing how surprised we were that people enjoyed the English teacher so much. Frankly, I was a little horrified that the teacher made such a cruel and callous statement to a child. Who does that??? Apart from the emotional trauma and consequences it caused Asad (considering he still remembers it, it did affect him) I think what annoyed me more was the lack of purpose for the scene. It's almost come to the point where I want to tell the writers - "Hey guys, I get they are in love! Please stop with the constant reminding of their equation."

I was equally annoyed with Dilshaad, Najma, Shireen and to some extent Nikhat. Why is no one asking the right questions? Did everybody lose their brains?

Honestly, I can't wait for tomorrow. The confrontation should be epic and I can't wait for Ayaan to start suffering...because he is going to and he deserves it. First dose of character growth for Ayaan and the second for Asad. Asad needs to realize that baby bro is a selfish, lazy and manipulative ass who needs a kick.

Agree, English teacher scene was cute although I am not sure about all his wishes, this was a real weird one😆 anyway I get it our Jahapanah six packs is a different guy but somehow this wish was really boring, and weird too, anyway AAK is unique so I guess its ok, I loved Zoe today, she is just so perfect for him, both are made for each other, I love the way they are showing their relation, Asad is slowing opening up, it is really lovely.
