wow you analyzed that scene so beautifully and so perfectly 👏 ... you covered everything so well, there's nothing that comes to my mind to add ... I must say though, I enjoyed watching that scene, I didn't find it creepy at all like some people did ... this is AsYa, they have their own unique love and romance which I love <3

This is my POV on that scene.

I guess romance lies in the eye of the beholder (or holder as the case might be :)

My idea of writing a romantic scene might be very different but as far as AsYa are concerned, I think I can explain their behavior..which I have also done on my post on late bloomers

1. AsYa are indeed a very quirky couple and their way of doing/expressing is also very quirky. If one sees it in that context, I can see where they get their ideas

2. Because of their developmental issues, they are in fact late bloomers in the world of love and romance so I can cut them some slack for their teenage like dreams

3. As a parent, I can say that one of the most satisfying and peaceful experiences is to see your child sleep peacefully. That tells me their life is void of any miseries and they feel secure and safe. In Zoya's case, Asad has almost become a father figure to her. Yes, he is her fiancee too but her protector and guardian in life. I think that's the biggest significance of this scene. I might be wrong but I am not surprised given that Asad is first a protector and then anything else.

I totally agree with you! The scene was beautiful, I found it neither creepy nor childish.

I think Asad is still afraid of losing her again after the month without her not knowing where she was, if she was alive and if she was okay. Watching her sleep gave him peace of mind, he is just glad that she is safe and he can see her now, she is in front of his eyes where no one can hurt her!

I'm definitely with you on this one. Many people are bashing the scene but I had the exact same thoughts as you when I watched it. Today's scene symbolised their relationship, sweet and relatively new. He didn't ask her to sleep in his bed nor did he ask her for a kiss, in fact it was an innocent wish of his to watch her sleep.
I could go on and on but I feel as if you've summarised most of what I have said.

Loved your reference to the parent-child experience! That was what I was trying to say, but you put it way more beautifully and in a perfect analogy. I absolutely agree that it his self-imposed protector status for Zoya as in every tragedy in her life ( since India), he has been the one to see her in the worst situations and yet be the one who takes her out of it. Earlier, he could not understand why he felt the need to save her each time, or he did it out of humanity or simply duty towards a girl his mom really cares so much for. Now, that he knows he loves her, this feeling of shielding her is so much more personal and hence the tears. To know that he can do this and to see her sleep peacefully under his watch.

I think it was as beautiful as a scene where you see a mother watch the child drift off to sleep after a bad situation and simply patting their heads to make sure they never have another worry in their lives.

Wow this was beautifu👏l...i loved the scene and wanted to say a lot but couldn't have put it in a better way...all i saw was asad's content and a sense of relief wen he saw zoya sleeping peacefully away from all worldly worries and harm and very very safe and yes those tears and the twinkle in his eyes say a lot..all he wants is for his life(zoya)to always be happy and smiling...
KSG was brilliant in that scene
