CHAPTER 4

As Asad sees Zoya opening her eyes slowly and feels her heart thumping against his chest, he can't help getting lost in her beauty more and more. More than the beauty, it's the innocent glow on her face that draws him to her like an iron piece being drawn towards a magnet.
Just as Zoya is about to look into his eyes, straight after opening her eyes, a sudden voice calling 'Zoe!' loudly from behind, makes Zoya and Asad spring away from each other.
Asad notices flustered as another lady dressed in a business suit takes Zoya aside and whispers something. This is followed by Zoya putting her hands over her mouth, followed by Zoya's running away hastily, saying ' Tell Rey! NOW!'
Asad feels uncomfortable on hearing that name from her mouth, but still is a bit curious about her reaction.
Aad (rubs his forehead): So uska naam zoe hai! Wonder yahaan kya kar rahi thi!
Before he can ponder further, some more people meet up with him and Asad succeeds in getting her out of his mind, at least for an hour. As Asad looks around, his gaze lands upon a young man walking around anxiously, glancing at his phone and watch now and then. Asad watches him with curiosity as the person reminds him so much of Ayan. Just then that man gets a call. Asad is close enough to hear his part of the convo. The conversation goes on something like this:

Princess, how is S now?...Thank God! I'm coming...but...okay okay...fine! I will be there after the party!...Promise..I'll get that!okay bye baby!

Asad feels better on seeing the guy relax and turns around to leave. Then somebody puts a hand on his shoulder from behind, making him turn around. It's one of the businessmen who came to escort him at the airport. The man asks

Mr Khan, have you met Reehan Farooqui?

Asad (confused): pardon? Sorry, I don't think I know him.

The man appears surprised and says:
You don't know Reehan Farooqui? Okay, have you ever heard of RZ Software?

Asad : of course! If I am not wrong, it's in the top 5 software companies of the US!

The man says: Exactly! And Reehan is the owner! Come, I will introduce you to him!

Asad follows the man. He is surprised when he sees that the young man he saw moving around earlier is actually Reehan. Both exchange pleasantries and Asad is not surprised when he finds the guy quite similar to Ayan.
The other man asks: Where is Ms New York? She has gone invisible!

Reehan: Uncle, S met with an accident! So she left!

The other man: oh my god! How is S doing now?

Reehan: thankfully, she is out of danger!

The man: thank god! Is your princess coming back now? She didn't even meet me!

Reehan: no she isn't! She asked me to say sorry to you from her side. And she will perhaps meet you tomorrow. Actually she is leaving for India next week.

The man appears stunned: what? Suddenly, she is heading to India like this? Is everything ok?

Reehan : Ya, she has some work and she won't even let me go with her! Stubborn girl!

The man nods knowingly.
The man then adds: the most stubborn girl I have ever seen!

Seeing Asad's confused expression, the man chuckles and adds:
Mr Khan, sorry! Actually we are talking about HIS princess(pointing to Reehan and Reehan smiles), the co-owner of RZ Software! It's so sad that you couldn't meet her. She's a very nice girl, in fact everyone knows her by the name if Ms New York only! Such a darling she is, you just can't resist falling in love with her!

Asad, being the type of person he is, feels uncomfortable talking on this and excuses himself. Reehan, being a tubelight, later searches for Asad to talk of Zoya as he knows Asad is from Bhopal, but by that time Asad is already gone from the party.

Next day, Asad spends his time finalising the deal. There Zoya is too involved in taking care of S, her childhood best friend and Reehan's girlfriend, that she doesn't get time to think to think of that strange thing that happened at the party the other night.
The next day S gets discharged. She is taken to Zoya's home and around the same time, Asad heads back to India. And Zoya also gets busy preparing for leaving for India.

After two days
Zeenat calls Dilshad and gives flight information of Zoya who would reach India the next day. Dilshad assures Zeenat that she will take care of Zoya, and that Asad will go and pick up Zoya from the airport. There in NY, everyone bids a tearful goodbye to Zoya. Reehan and Zoya hug each other tightly as it's the first time both are going to stay without each other from the day they met and both know it's gonna be very hard. Zeenat asks Zoya again and again to take care of herself. They hug tight. At last, it's time for Zoya to leave. She gets on the aircraft and looks back once with tearful eyes.

Zoya (thinks): Aaj main New York chhod kar India jaa rahi hoon! Woh jagah jahaan aapni zindegi bitayi, use chhod karr wahan jaa rahi hoon jahan mera janm hua tha! Woh jagah jahaan meri saari memories kaid hain, use chhodkr wahan jaa rahi hoon jahan maine humesha aapni memories banani chahi! Purane rishte ko peeche chhodkr naye rishte banane ki umeed main jaa rahi hoon! I don't know ki aage future mein mere liye kya likha hai, lekin Allah ki joh marji hai, mujhe woh QUBOOL HAI!

After this she turns her back to the airport and runs to her seat in an emotional state.

There Dilshad informs Asad about Zeenat's call.
Dilshad : Asad agar tum naa jaana chaho toh driver ko bhej sakte ho!
Asad: Nahin Ammi! Main khud jaakr Zoya ko airport se lekr aaunga! Woh Zeenat mumani ki sister hai, aise driver ko bhejna thik nahin hoga. Waise bhi bechari pahli baar India aa rahi hai, and woh bahut bholi hai! Allah naa kare, agar use koi problem hoga toh main uske saath toh hoonga, uska saath dene ke liye!

Saying this, Asad heads towards his room. Dilshad is shocked out of her wits.

Dilshad : Yeh Asad kaisi baatein kar raha hai? Ek naujawaan ladki, woh bhi modern, use ghar mein rakhne ke baat se gussa hone ke bajay, woh itna intereted hai jaise ki woh ladki uski biwi hai! Ya Allah, kya ho gaya ish ladke ko? Ek minute,kahin Asad ko Zoya se pyaar toh nahin ho gaya? Waise bhi jabb se New York se wapaas aaya hai, humesha khoya khoya rahta hai! Ya Allah, yeh ladka itna unpredictable hai! Khair, bus ek aur din mein Zoya aa jaegi phir sab kuch pata chal gaya! Agar Asad ko sach mein Zoya se muhabatt ho gaya hai...

A wide smile comes onto her face. She goes to sleep contended, with SWEET DREAMS of her only son's nikah, unaware of the fact that Asad misunderstands Zoya to be a kid, unaware of what FUTURE HAS IN STORE for all of them.
It's evening the next day. A plane from New York lands at the Bhopal airport. Zoya gets down and thinks

Allah miyaan, jis maksad se main aaj yahaan wapaas aayi hoon, use poora karne meri madad karna!

She is dressed in a blue top and jeans, dragging her bag along and looking around, searching for the person who was supposed to receive her at airport.
Zoya : Appi ne toh kaha tha ki woh...kya naam hai..haan Asad Ahmed Khan...kitna strange name hai na? Anyways, MrKhan toh kahin najarr nahin aa rahe! Perhaps he forgot to come. It's okay. I can go alone. Why trouble them? Waise bi abhi unke ghar mein rahne waali hoon!( she glances at her watch) Allah miyaan, what's wrong with my watch? Yeh one hour late kaise ho gayi? (she takes out her phone) Ismein bi one hour late? (ipad out) Ishmein bi? Allah miyaan, what's wrong with these? Ek minute! (She goes over to see the time in the airport) Oh that means the plane landed one hour before time! Now what should I do? Should I wait for one hour for Mr Khan to arrive? No I should leave! Agar main aabhi chali jaungi toh unhe faltoo mein airport nahin aana parega!

After deciding to leave, she heads outside for a taxi. She finds it difficult to find a taxi in the night.

Zoya : so stupid of me! Appi se MrKhan ka number le lena chahiye tha! If I ask her now, she will panic. Kaisi jagah hai, taxi bi nahin milti dhang ki!

After nearly 30 minutes, she finds a taxi of her choice and heads to Asad's house.
As Zoya's taxi leaves the taxi, a black SUV enters the airport. Asad gets out of his SUV after parking it and glances at his watch.

Asad: Zoya ki flight aane mein aabhi 20 minutes hain!
