Asad:Jo Bandishein Thi Zamane Ki Tod Aaya Hoon

Hey Guys,

So my imagination ran wild last night and I came up with this scene! Just my take on one of the most dramatic encounters between asad-zoya-gaffur. Its a lil long but please bear with me. I promise it'll be worth your time. This scene is inspired from the Dargah scene in Veer zaara where Veer comes to meet zaara against all odds with "Aaya tere dar par deewana' playing in the bg. Aaah, i know you guys understood where i'm going with this haha Enjoy! 😆

So after facing the reality of Gaffur being her father and how her father was responsible for Asad and her phuphi's misery, Zoe is standing on cross roads where she doesn't know which way to go. (Zoe still doesn't know everything about Gaffur and the sins he had committed) On one hand, there is her father whom she has been yearning to meet ever since she landed in bhopal and on the other hand, there is her new family with asad, najma and her phuphi whom she loves more than anything in this world. She has been in love with asad for as long as she can remember and Asad too loves her more than his life. She is living a reality that is far more beautiful than her dreams. Being engaged to Asad is a dream come true for her and she is living every minute of it to the fullest. Asad's arms is her happy place and Asad's heart is where she lives these days. She is on cloud 9 and there is no denying that. Asad on the other hand, still masks his happiness and immense pleasure to have zoe as his fiance. He dreams of her day and night, he spends most of his time with her these days, pretends to be unromantic and all yet is the first one to initiate all the romantic sessions. Unlike zoe, he doesn't believe in fairytales but as his heart would have it, he has started to weave dreams around zoe, dreams of a beautiful life together with roses, puppies and pink baskets, trips to paris and more, all for his zoe. He can't wait to get married to zoe and make her his officially.

Gaffur's reality hits them hard and they both stand on cross roads about their future together. They both know that they can't live without each other and having experienced the pain of separation once, they both are not willing to face it again. They know they both are lifeless souls without each other and a day seems like an year in the absence of the other person. Yet, reality is reality and they both need to mutually agree on something. Asad understand's zoe's position and asks her to live with Gaffur for a few days, get to know her father and her family. He promises her that nothing will change between them and he is doing this for himself since his happiness lies in zoe's happiness. He assures zoe that she is and will always be Asad's no matter where she lives. This is how selfless asad has become in zoe's love. On the other hand, Zoe wants to get to know her father and her family so she agrees with Asad and thanks him for understanding her. They both have been so deeply in love with each other that the other person's happiness is all that matters. They agree that its only for the time being that they need to force themselves to live separately.

After a few days of living with the Siddiqui's, Razia has tried almost everything to get rid of zoe. From character attacks to murder attempts, she leaves no stone unturned. On the other hand, Gaffur has started to think like a father for Zoe and like any other father, he thinks about Zoe's future. He wants Zoe to get married to one of his friend's son and lead a happy life in front of his eyes. He is not aware of the depth of feelings Asad and zoe have for each other. He hates asad and believes that zoe's history of living with asad and his family has no meaning whatsoever. Razia gets to know about this and believes that if nothing else, then this might be the only way to get zoe out of their house and out of their life. She convinces gaffur to arrange the nikaah as soon as possible and not let zoe know about it, since she still must be under asad's influence and may not agree to this. On the day of the Nikaah, Zoe who has no idea at all about what's going on is asked to dress up as they are having a grand celebration at the house. Zoe is made to sit among a crowd of ladies, like a bride and that's when she realizes what's going on. She tries to reach out to gaffur with no luck at all. She tries to reach out to her phone but Razia, well aware of what zoe is up to, disrupts all her efforts to reach out to asad. Luckily, zoe gets hold of ayaan and asks him to call asad and explain him what's happening. Ayaan, being ayaan, doesn't understand why zoe wants to reach out to asad on her nikaah day. He still believes that the only relationship asad and zoe share are " museebat and akdu ahmed khan". He still agrees on zoe's persistence and calls up asad who is totally unaware that his zoya is about to be snatched away from him for the rest of his life. He drops the phone as he hears ayaan tell him about zoe's nikaah and how zoe wanted to reach out to him. He understands that zoe is being forced into this by none other than Gaffur himself. He knows the pain of not having zoe around him every day but he has willingly accepted it for zoe's sake and her happiness. But the thought of losing zoe forever is not something he is willing to accept at any cost. He quickly picks up his car keys and drives off to the siddiqui mansion to get his zoe back.

Zoe, all decked up as a bride, sits among the huge gathering of people, hiding her tears behind her veil, anxiously waiting for asad to come and get her out of this. She wants to run away herself but Gaffur, her family's pride, her dad's honor, everything is at stake. She feels numb, unable to move, unable to think straight. As much as she has understood Gaffur, she knows that Gaffur loves her and wants to see her happy. Yet, she thinks that Gaffur doesn't understand that happiness means Asad and only Asad for her. The animosity between Asad and Gaffur has always stopped her from having a heart-to-heart with Gaffur as she knows he will never understand the relation she shares with Asad. Gaffur is very particular about his pride and honor in society and there is no way he'll let her choose his biggest enemy as her life partner. Zoe's only hope is Asad and his love. She believes in him more than anything else and longingly stares at the front door for asad to come and claim her. She, however, fears that Asad has never stepped in this house for anyone and his hatred for Gaffur and his family is beyond everything. Even for his ammi, he came to the door and left but never took a step inside. Zoya knows she is hoping for the impossible but somewhere in her heart she knows that Asad's love will overcome his hatred for this house and he will come and get her.

Asad stands at the doorstep of the Gaffur mansion where the celebrations are in full swing. He has tears in his eyes. Tears of both love and hatred. Only he knows what he is going through at this moment. He had vowed to never ever step in this house and here he is, standing at the front door, only for his zoya. He is pained to his bones to face the entire rashid family but he knows that the pain of losing zoya is a million times worse. He knows he would have rather died than step inside this house but he also knows that zoe will die along with him if he doesn't step inside and get her out of this.

With a heavy heart, he takes the first step in and the only thing he looks for is his zoe.

He moves around the crowd and finally spots zoe sitting behind the curtain with Nikhat, Nuzhat and Humeira. He breaks down and the tears that were still in control start flowing uncontrollably. Despite the veil, he knows what zoe is going through, he can sense her raised heartbeat, her trembles, her fears, her sobs. He stands at a distant, too numb to react, as he sees Gaffur and the Maulvi proceed in zoe's direction. He looks at Gaffur with a new-found hatred he had never experienced before. Till now, Gaffur was responsible for breaking his family, for his mother's pain, for his and Najma's ruined childhood but today he was about to snatch the only thing that had made him live again, breathe again, smile again, and most importantly love again. He was about to separate him and zoe just like he had separated Rashid and dilshaad ages back. He was about to write zoe's destiny that didn't have asad in it. He was about to write asad's destiny that didn't have happiness in it. This sudden surge of anger and fury made asad do that he would have never done in a million years. He wipes off his tears and starts walking towards zoe, till he is in the middle of the grand room with all eyes on him. Eyes full of questions, anger, revolt, confusion. Asad doesn't care to look at anyone. He looks in zoe's direction who is still unaware of Asad's presence in front of her. She has her head bowed to hide her tears and her tormented face. Just then the Maulvi asks zoe "Zoya Siddiqui, Kya aapko ye nikaah qubool hai". Gaffur, although, seething with anger at asad's presence calms himself down and waits for zoe to answer. Zoe is shaking, unable to utter a word when she hears a voice says " Qubool nahin hai". She looks up and sees asad looking at her longingly with tears all over his face. Just the glimpse of asad behind her veil makes her breathe again and she realizes that she had been holding her breath for so long. Unable to hold her feelings anymore, she sobs openly, relieved to the bones that her asad is here. Both Asad and zoya look at each other with tears of love and pain in both of their eyes. All zoya wants is to escape this nightmare and run to asad. And to Everyone's surprise, she does just that. She gets up, comes out from behind the curtain and makes a mad dash in Asad's direction. She stops just when she reaches Asad, wipes her tears off her face and touches him to make sure that he is really there and she is not dreaming him. When she realizes that he really is there, her happiness has no bounds and she breaks down in Asad's arms, clinging to him so tightly as if he is her life support system. Asad, too, engulfs zoe in his arms, and starts breathing again. Zoe presses onto asad, digs her fingers on the his back and kisses his chest, in a way to thank him for going against all the odds to come and get her. Asad acknowledges her gesture and hugs her even more tightly. He takes his hands to her face, wipes her tears off and kisses her forehead. They share a beautiful and heavenly moment in front of the entire family. Both of them in their own world, oblivious of Gaffur's anger, Razia's disappointment, Rashid's surprise and Ayaan's confusion. Gaffur, unable to control his anger anymore, walks up to Asad and Zoya and starts blasting Asad on his lack of Tehzeeb and Tameez. Gaffur tells Asad that he has no right on his daughter whatsoever and he won't be spared for the humiliation he has caused his family today. Even Razia takes this opportunity to insult Asad and his mother, his upbringing, his lack of values. She tells Asad, that he indeed is Dilshaad's son as he can't see the happiness of this family. Just like Dilshaad can't see shireen and rashid live in peace, even Asad can't see Zoe fulfilling her dad's desire. Asad is furious on hearing all this but he doesn't let go of zoe. Instead he holds onto zoe even more tightly. Gaffur looks at zoe angrily and tries to pull her by her arm. Zoe tries to resist but gaffur is way too angry to listen. Asad, finally stops Gaffur, and places his hand on Gaffur's. He looks straight into Gaffur's eyes without blinking and tells him to back off indirectly. He again pulls a sobbing zoe into his arms and tells Gaffur that he and only he has the right on "his daughter". Asad tells him that zoe has always belonged to him and just because he has parted from zoe for sometime for the sake of her happiness doesn't mean that he is willing to give up zoe for the rest of his life. He tells Gaffur that he believes that he is zoe's father and wants the best for her yet he fails to realize that Zoe's only happiness lies with him and only him. What kind of father is he to not be able to see his daughter's pain. Zoya was, is, and will always be Asad's no matter how hard anyone tries to take her away from him. Zoya's happiness matters to me the most but today, all i can see is zoya's tears. He tells Gaffur that zoya is no longer happy in this house and he is taking her with him. The only reason he asked her to come and stay with Gaffur's family was for her happiness but they have exploited her and manipulated her in doing something she doesn't want to do. Asad tells Gaffur that he had a chance to be Zoya's father after so many years, yet he missed it again by playing his own daughter. He does't deserve a daughter like zoe, he never did. From now on, zoe will just be Mrs. Zoya Asad Ahmed Khan and not Zoya Gaffur Siddiqui. "I'm taking my zoya with me, those who care to stop me, I dare you try".

Asad picks up zoya and walks to the front door with his eyes locked with zoya's. Zoya, too overwhelmed to react to anything just looks at Asad with her eyes brimming with new tears. Tears of happiness, tears of hope, tears of finally letting go of her past, tears of a dream like future with asad. They both walk out of the siddiqui mansion to never look back again. Gaffur breaks down for the first time as the thought of losing his daughter yet again hits him hard. Razia smirks thinking that it may not be as planned but finally zoe is out of their lives for good, Rashid is relieved and happy for his son as he claimed his mohabbat and faced the odds unlike him. Ayaan finally understood that his bhaijaan has hopelessly fallen in love with his museebat and there is no going back for him no matter how much he tries.. He sighs and laughs at the same time.

Asad and Zoya once out and away from the Siddiqui house, hug each other passionately and hold onto each other for the longest time. Asad takes zoe's face in his hands and kisses every tear on her face. Zoe does the same and kisses Asad's tears off his face. They both look into each others eyes and this time make a unsaid promise that no one and absolutely no one will be able to separate them. That they'll live together till their last breath. That they don't need anybody else till they have each other.

And the only thing an overwhelmed Asad utters is - I can't spend another minute not married to you. Will you please be my wife?
