OS: Roller Coaster Ride

'Ya Allah, if I have to hear one more lecture on tehzeeb I swear I'm going to gag him' Najma was trying so hard to suppress her laughter but with Zoya by her side shooting her mouth how could it ever be possible.

'Zoya please shush...bhaijaan will only get more irked, do you really want him to cancel our day out' Najma pleaded 'fine but one more word about my outfit and that's it I declare war' Zoya picked up her bag and walked past Asad deliberately brushing his shoulder in the process.

'Najma please remind me why I agreed to marry her?' He asked as he rubbed his forehead, Najma skipped up to him 'simple bhaijaan because you love her' Najma ran out the door laughing out loud leaving Asad smiling at himself.

Dilshad sat in the front with Asad, whilst Zoya sat with Najma in the back, never had Asad heard so much ruckus their loud singing and dancing around was driving him crazy, what made it worse that Dilshad was encouraging them. 'Do you guys really have be so loud' Asad finally broke his silence 'well Mr Khan not everyone is as dry as you' Zoya spat back Asad rolled his eyes and decided to stay quiet for the rest of the time. They had finally reached their destination, Najma had been pestering Asad to take her to the newly opened adventure park that was just on the outskirts of Bhopal. As soon as they alighted the car Najma and Zoya started jumping up and down in excitement, anyone would have thought they had just won tickets straight to heaven. Dilshad looked at Asad who was glaring at the two girls disapprovingly 'Asad' Dilshad called out placing her hand on his shoulder 'ammi look at them...seriously do they have to?' 'Yes they do...now lighten up beta 'Dilshad started to walk towards the girls 'Zoya is so right this boy is as dry as anything' she mumbled to herself 'I heard that ammi...and I am not dry'.

After an hour of following them around Dilshad decided to take a break 'you guys go ahead, I'll wait here for you' she said sitting on a bench near by. Najma felt bad for her mum 'ammi I will stay with you bhaijaan can take Zoya' Asad jerked his head up to first look at Najma for suggesting such an idea and then at Zoya 'Najma you go with Miss Farroqui I will stay with ammi' Zoya quickly followed pursuit 'haan Najma Mr Khan is right he will stay with phoopi you come...what will I do with him anyway?' Najma tried not to laugh at her last comment but failed miserably earning a scornful look from her brother dearest.

Dilshad decided to play Cupid once again 'I want Najma to stay, Asad you go with Zoya, it will give you a chance to spend some quality time together, you know once the wedding ceremonies start you two wont be able to see one another' Dilshad mentally patted herself on the back for the last part because as soon as she said it their faces dropped. Asad cleared his throat 'theek hai ammi Najma can stay with you I will go with Ms Farooqui'.

'Mr Khan come, let's go on that ride' she said in excitement Asad took one look at the ride and gulped he could feel his stomach summersault just by looking at it 'um Miss Farroqui I am not much of a rider, but please don't let that stop you, you go ahead I'll wait here' Zoya looked at him and burst into fits of laughter 'please Mr Khan don't tell me...you are scared' Asad quickly straightened himself up 'no..not at all' still laughing like crazy she grabbed onto his arm 'you can't lie Mr Khan it's written all over your face'. As Zoya continued to make fun of him Asad's eyes looked down at her had that she had placed on his forearm, slowly her and slid downwards and as soon as it reached his hand he impulsively grabbed hold of it automatically entwining his fingers with hers. As soon as Zoya realised what he was doing she stopped laughing, she looked down at their hands that so naturally and so perfectly fit together.

Zoya looked into Asad's eyes, and it was as if she doing it for he first time. She saw a new emotion a different kind of intensity, Zoya tried to free her hand but the more she did the tighter he held it. 'You really want to go on that ride?' He said pointing ahead of them Zoya nodded her head 'ok, lets go then' Asad still holding her hand led her to the ride. Both of the sat down, the ride operator asked everyone to hold heir hands out as the bars came down 'Mr Khan you need to let go of my hand' Zoya said as she pulled at it 'oh...sorry' as the bars came down they started to move up slowly Zoya looked over to see him, what she saw was Asad's face loosing colour, at that moment she felt bad for having been so persistent, may be he really was scared and she had stood there making fun of him. Zoya reached her hand out and managed to entwine a few of her fingers around his. Her soft touch and gesture made him smile at her, which she reciprocated 'you ready?' she whispered 'I am now'. As soon as they had reached the top the roller coaster took its first dive, all that could be heard were shrills of screams, where Zoya screamed her lungs out Asad sat there with his eyes squeezed shut hoping it would all be over soon. 'What an adrenaline rush...that was awesome don't you think Mr Khan?' Zoya said as she leisurely walked in front of him.

After another few steps Zoya realised that Asad was not with her, she looked back to see him standing staring at something 'Mr Khan what is it?' She asked trying to figure out what had caught his attention. 'Miss Farooqui would you like to sit on there with me?' He said pointing to the country train ride, it was a train that circled the whole park at a snails pace, Zoya chuckled 'are you serious?' She only had to glance at him to know how serious he really was. 'Ok then...lets go' she said shrugging her shoulders.

Asad had chosen the ride for a reason, he wanted to talk to her and spend...what did his mum say? Ah yes, 'quality time'. They had been engaged for nearly a month and so much had happened between them, but the one thing that remained was that they had never explicitly told one another how they felt, it didn't take a genius to see that they loved each other deeply but they were yet to hear those three magical words. If spending quality time with her meant that they had to sit on this train then so be it, if Asad was not going to be able to see Zoya once the ceremonies started then he was going to make sure that he would spend as much time with her as he could.

There was an awkward silence and every now an again they would look at each other and smile 'Mr Dry Ahmed Khan couldn't pick a ride any more boring' Zoya mumbled to herself she was in the right mind to jump off. Asad tried to initiate a conversation but kept falling flat so he did what he knew best and that was to jump straight in an ask her out right. 'Zoya are you ok with this?' Zoya looked at him intently 'did he just call me Zoya instead of Mis Fartoqui?' She questioned herself Asad waited for her to reply but she just kept staring at him.

Asad poked her arm to get her attention 'huh...oh...um...well this certainly wouldn't be my first choice of a ride...' Asad looked a he blankly 'ride?' 'Yes Mr Khan, you asked me if I was ok with this...I mean its ok but a little boring don't you think?' Asad closed his eyes rolling them inwards, his girl was seriously going to make him go crazy. 'No Zoya...I didn't mean the ride I meant are you ok with us, with you and me, with the nikah?' Asad rolled out all is questions in one go. Zoya looked at him stumped, why was he asking her? 'Mr Khan...why are you asking me...I mean did something happen?' She started to look worried ' no of course not' he quickly placed his hand over hers as a reassurance 'all I was trying to ask is that are you happy...with me with getting married to me?'

Zoya looked at him and then at his hand that covered hers, she lifted his hand up and took it in between both of hers 'Mr Khan why wouldn't I be happy, I am the happiest girl alive, what more could I want I have everything, I have phoopi who is like a mother to me, I have Najma who is like a sister and then Mr Khan I have you...you who I wouldn't know how to live without so why wouldn't I be happy, I am going to be part of you all, part of a family that I love so much...I know you think we are totally different but can two different people not come together as one?' Asad was totally bowled over by what Zoya had just said, he could see her eyes moisten as she spoke, Asad lifted his had and cupped her cheek 'two people who are different have come together as one Zoya...me and you, if you can't live without me then how can I without you...you know why Miss Farooqui?' Zoya shook her head 'no...why' she whispered 'because I love you'.
