Zoya placed her hand on her stomach listening to her Ammi's words. She had completely forgotten about the growing life in her. And the fact that she cannot take a risk with him at any cost.
Dilshad could see the affect of her words and took advantage of it, ''Isliye tum jaldi se jaakar doctor ko dikha kar aa jao... It wont take much time... Till then I'll get the dinner ready. Hmm ?''
Zoya agreed like a obedient child and followed Asad to the car.
Soon, they reached the doctor's clinic within no time and waited for their turn. There was some lady inside and next it was Zoya's turn. As soon as the lady came out, Zoya was called in by the doctor.
Asad told him about her burnt hand and how it had happened. The doctor slowly opened the bandaid and examined her wounds. He applied some medicine and dressed it properly, prescribing a pain killer and some ointment.
Asad asked if there was some major problem to which the doctor calmly replied, ''Zakhm zyada gehra nahi hai... Do teen din mein theek ho jaayega... You can have the pain killer if it pains too much but I would suggest you to avoid it as you are pregnant. And dont leave the wound open as it may get septic.''
Zoya nodded at the doctor's statement and he continued, ''You' ll have to take an anti-tetanus injection so that the infection doesn't spread.''
The nurse led Zoya to the other side of the cabin parted by curtains and came out after giving her the injection. The injection was so painful that Zoya almost had tears in her eyes.
Asad noticed that and walked her carefully to the car after paying the doctor and thanking him.
They were half way home when the car broke down and it started pouring heavily. Asad cursed his fate and got down from the car to check what happened. ''Ye baarish ko bhi aaj hi girna tha...aur wo bhi tabhi jab ye gaadi kharab ho gayi !! Aaj ka toh din hi kharab hai...'' he said to himself while opening the car's bonnet. It was filled with smoke and could only be repaired by a mechanic, he thought.
''Ab itni raat ko mechanic kahan milega...?! I think we should walk to home... It would be easier and convinient...'' He pulled down the bonnet of the car to inform Zoya, when his eyes met the angelic sight infront of him.
She was fully drenched in the rain, enjoying every drop of it falling on her face with her arms spread across. He wiped his face with his hands and pushed his hair back to get a clear view of her.
He looked at her face that was so calm and at peace, like she was letting the rain wash away all her sorrows and pain. She twirled around letting the rain splash harder on her, shaking her hands in the air like a 4-year old.
The pink salwar kameez gave her a complete baby-ish look, sticking to every curve of her making them prominent. Even with her cute little baby bump, Asad could have a look of her sexy figure. She had curves to die for and that hadn't gone unnoticed by him.
Just then she opened her eyes and saw him staring at her. The intensity in his eyes could melt anybody alive. She immediately wiped off the smile from her face and looked down feeling embarassed.
She hadn't realise when she got so lost in the rain that she didn't notice him looking at her. She knotted her dupatta in nervousness, knowing that he was coming close to her.
He was just mere inches away from her, easily able to hear her ragged breath which only made him smirk, knowing the effect he had on her. Slowly, he pushed her hair behind her ears and inched closer.
His lips were just a few centimetres away from her ears. She could feel his hot breath on her ears, that only made the butterflies in her stomach flutter harder. She placed a hand on his chest in reflex, giving him space to come closer.
The next thing she knew was that he'd said something to her and she couldn't comprehend what it was. So she asked confused, ''Ji !?!?''
''Maine kaha...gaadi kharab ho gayi hai...!! Ghar zyada door nahi hai... We can walk..if you are ok with it !'' he repeated, completely flattered by her dazed expression.
She felt foolish to have thought something otherwise and nodded to his question saying, ''Ji... Mujhe koi problem nahi... Chaliye..''
The roads were completely dark with street lights hardly giving some light. The rain had now stopped falling and it was slightly drizzling.
As they walked along the road, Asad could feel Zoya shiver lightly with cold. She had placed her arms around, hugging herself.
He turned to look at her and asked, ''Kya zaroorat thi bheegne ki baarish mein...?? Dekhiye aapka haath bhi geela ho gaya...'' removing his coat and placing it on her shoulders.
