So tell me then, what should I discuss?

I noticed quite a few posts made about how the skirt issue should not be brought up on the forum anymore and the replies were laughing at those who still did bring it up. I was just wondering why. I mean, I believe that the rules of the forum states that we aren't allowed to discuss the personal lives of the actors, and that's the only major rule. I think everyone is then free to share their opinions about anything else with regards to the show.
I guess the major argument here is that it already happened so let's just let it go. That's true, but I think discussions about scenes mainly happens after the scene happens it the episode right, we can't possibly discuss something if it hasn't already happened. But it is then argued that it is stale news, so let it go. Actually if you think about it, it only happened an episode ago. And not everyone logs onto the forum everyday, so there might be people who wanna share their thoughts on any incident a little after it has happened. It may be stale news to some, but it isn't to others.
What I truly think is that some are irked by some of the topics made on the skirt issue because it goes against what they think about the issue. That's good, that's healthy, that's what a forum is for. To express your opinion and also to read and find out others' opinions as well. So I suggest that if you don't like what a topic-maker has said about the skirt issue, you can choose to reply with your argument, or you can choose to ignore it. But there's no need to reply and insist that the topic-maker stop talking about it, it is her personal choice whether she wants to talk about it or not. It's a free forum, and everyone's entitled to an opinion.
Besides, since the main argument is about harping on and repeatedly bringing up something that has already happened in the show, I'd just like to say that if I decide to make a post about how much I loved Asad and Zoya's Bol Na Halke sequence from ages ago, nobody would tell me that it's stale news and I should get over it. Because everybody is at a consensus about that sequence - we all loved it.
About the skirt issue, I think the forum is at a consensus that Zoya did a good job by standing up to Asad, no one has a problem with that. The problem is that some members believe that it didn't make sense for Zoya (the character Zoya and no one else) to wear a miniskirt, while some didn't think there was anything wrong. And that's fine, like I said everyone is entitled to an opinion.
I took this meaning of the word 'forum' off the net:
A place, meeting, or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.
And this is a forum, and that's what's happening, so I don't see what's wrong. If this were a medium for people to only share what they loved about the show and praise it all the time, it'd be called a fan club, not a forum.
It's just my humble request to let people say what they feel about the show without belittling them. It actually takes a lot more courage to post a topic on a public platform like this than it seems.

Yeah I don't deny that. I'm glad the rules are there as well. I'm just saying that sometimes people shouldn't make their own rules and just allow everyone to have the right to their freedom of speech. As long as it's within the forum rules there should be no issue (:

There is nothing wrong in discussing the skirt - Discuss it to your hearts content but at the same time certain posters would be advised not to shove their opinions down others throats or belittle someone's opinion. The problem arises when people can't grasp the fact that everyone has different moral compasses and nor you or I can judge them for that as long as they are not criminals.

For instance, you thought the skirt was trashy and too short and that is your right but there are many others who believe the skirt was fine. If certain people were ok with the skirt it doesn't make them trashy or unIslamic or immoral it just makes them people with different viewpoints.

Anyway this is a forum you should be allowed to speak about what you want to your hearts content - so why pay attention to those who believe you should move on from the topic? Just post anyway, it's not like people can stop you right?

Thank you for this...I rarely post on the forum but your topic is so well written that I had to say something.

It annoys me to no end when people tell other members to "Get over it", "Let it go" or when they say "it is just a show". We know it is a show we are not retards.

LOL alright.

In the post I made...

All I said was...not to make the matter go furthur. And I said that not because I did not agree with the post makers but even after the issue was done people were still arguing.. like some people went over board with it.

& The post I made did not BELITTLE anyone :\ I think whatever I said was alright .. it was not rude what so ever imo.

All I wanted was.. people to get along and continue with QH since seeing all the arugments.. people started not liking the person who'd reply and the person who they would argue with.. and all this would stop if people stopped making topics over and over again...

Like yeah everyone has their own opinions and their own way of thinking.. yea go ahead and express them, its a forum.. but some people just kept repeating what they would reply to a post and then make topics about it again...like whats the use of that ..

I would still read the topics though even if people made them and I never have been rude to them...the people that would reply to posts and then go making a topic about the same thing was annoying.. oh welll.

I just made a post about it.. people didn't even have to read it lol...

Anywaysss.. at the end of the day people do whatever they want. I was suggesting an idea which I did. People can agree or disagree, its normal :)

& MY BAD If I hurt anyones feelings unintentionally...cause I didn;t mean to at all.

Borderline fanatical shoving it was!

TM,

Opinions are what this forum is about as well. When someone starts saying I am right, I am right constantly, it is called incessant unbearable nagging. We do not appreciate being patronized!

You can discuss skirts until the end of this world!

Hello (: I agree with you, about the fact that some posters were a little more aggressive in their approach and were shoving their opinions down other people's throats. But it takes two to tango, while there were people shoving their opinion about how they didn't like the skirt down other people's throats, there were also people who had the exact opposite opinion also shoving their opinions down other people throats. And both sides were wrong, this is place for you to share your opinion, not shove it down people's throats.

I'm not sure if you read my post on the skirt, but I in fact did not say that the skirt was trashy or too short. You have to admit that a miniskirt is not a conservative piece of clothing. In my earlier image of Zoya, I had seen her as a modern yet conservative girl, and seeing her in a miniskirt destroyed that image of mine. And it also spoiled the image for my mom... that was really all I was saying. I did not mention a word about Islamic culture or morals. I just wanted to know if there were others who felt the same way about the characterization of Zoya.

Yet, I garnered comments with people telling me to get over it. This post was actually to highlight that, not sure if it came across correctly!

Yup exactly, some of the comments were sarcastic, clearly mocking both my mom and me for taking an interest in the issue. It's a fictional show I get it, I'm not delusional. I enjoy the show and wanted to share what I felt about it, didn't do it to get mocked.
