Hi guys! I'd earlier posted that I was converting this story to an SS and as promised I'm back with chapter 2 today. if you didn't see the banner I made for this SS, go to the first update and you'll find it there and plz comment on it and u can always point out flaws and. also, i have put an important note at the bottom of this update, plz read it. So here goes Chapter 2:
Zoya walked out of her office, sighing. She hated her life, she had a good post and salary, yet her life was empty. She'd never wanted this to happen, she wanted to go back to him, she knew he wouldn't make the same mistake again. Her heart was yelling at her, telling her that she should give Asad a chance to rectify his mistakes and she'd be happy again, while her mind screamed at her, telling her to do the opposite. She walked into her apartment and made her way to the small flat she lived in. She opened the door and walked in, knowing she was to be engulfed by despair and sadness again. She threw herself down on the bed, a lone tear making its way down her cheek. She buried her face in the pillow and cried. "Why did you do this to me?", she asked her head still buried in the pillow. "Am I really that bad for you? Why did you make me see dreams, when only nightmares were left? Why did you make me see hope, when there was only a long trail of despair left behind? Why did you do this, Asad?! Why?!" She hadn't even realized she'd started using his first name, she buried her face even deeper into the pillow and banged her fist on the nightstand beside her. She cried until she fell asleep, only to be swallowed by the ruins of their relationship which haunted her dreams.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Asad was sitting on his bed, his head in his hands. "Will I ever see her again?", he asked himself. He knew there was no answer to that question and the more he thought about out. the more it haunted him. The thought of living his entire life without Zoya, ripped his soul apart. "What if she moves on, with somebody else?", he asked himself again, only to give his broken soul an addition of excruciating pain. No!!!, his heart screamed at him. She'll never do that to you! He stood up and walked over to the window, he squeezed his eyes shut for a few seconds. When he opened them, his jaw dropped. There she was, sitting on the garden bench, sobbing. Zoya. Asad pushed open the window and jumped out. "ZOYA!!!", he screamed sprinting towards her direction. He grabbed her shoulders and spun her around. He stared at her disbelief, how could it be her? He pulled her up and crushed her into a hug. He pulled apart and kissed her forehead, "Zoya?! When'd you come back?! You came back for me, right?" Zoya meekly nodded at him, smiling. He pulled her into another bone crushing hug. She pulled away and looked at him. She slowly reached her hands out to his tear stained cheeks and wiped them away. She caressed his face and whispered, "I've come back home. I came back for you, how could I leave you like that?" Asad smiled at her, she was back and he was never gonna let her go away from him, again. Zoya smiled at him, taking a step backwards. "I've come back for you.", she repeated, taking another step backwards. Asad was about to pull her back into a hug, but she kept taking steps backwards. Asad's smile turned in to a confused look. She gave him another urging smile, slowly turning away. Asad realized what was happening, his expression turned to a one of horror. She slowly started running away from him. He screamed out to her, "ZOYAAA!!!"
Asad woke up sweating. He looked at his clock, it was 3.00 am. He pulled himself up and quickly reached out for his glass, for water. He stood up and walked over to the window and stared outside, he looked at the bench which Zoya had been sitting in, hoping she might actually be there, but yet again the answer was in negative. He found the tears working their way down his cheeks again. Knowing very well, that sleep would not invite him anymore, he walked to the kitchen to get himself some coffee. He went and sat outside on the garden bench, with mug of coffee in his hands. He stared at empty space beside him, reminding of those many nights with Zoya, in the same place. He averted his gaze to million stars twinkling light years away. He looked at the moon, which shone brightly in the sky, with all those stars surrounding it. It reminded him of Zoya. She was a light which shone brightly, spreading brightness in others lives, as she went along. She was the moon and they were the stars. But, right now Asad's life was like an empty night sky, with no moon, or stars. Just plain darkness, surrounded by nothing else.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dilshaad, made her way back from the kitchen, after getting herself a drink. While going past Asad's room, she noticed that his door was half open, with the light still on. She made her way inside and found no one. She looked confused, there was no sound of water coming from the bathroom, so he couldn't be there. Just then, through the window, she caught sight of a man sitting on the garden bench. He had his head in his hands, sobbing his heart out. Asad, she thought. She sighed, he'd been like this, ever since Zoya had left. He'd suddenly start behaving like a maniac. He'd scream, shout and cry for all he was worth and would only calm down when he'd worn out. She'd called the most famous psychiatrist of Bhopal, to see if he could make his state any better, but the pain he was in was to strong to be cured. She'd thought that Zoya had demolished the walls that Asad had built around his heart, but when she left, they reformed to be a much stronger wall. She sighed again and made her way out, to talk to him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Asad looked up startled, as he felt a hand touch his shoulders. He looked up, to see his ammi staring at him, with unshed tears. "Ammi? Weren't you sleeping, what are you doing here?", he asked. Dilsaad stared at him, for a few seconds longer, before sitting beside him. She stroked his head affectionately, while Asad looked away, knowing very well, that she knew what was going on inside him. "Asad, how long are you gonna be like this for? I know how hard it is for you, to let Zoya go, but you have a whole life ahead of you to think of." Asad stared at the hard ground beneath his feet, he thought to himself, I can never move on, ammi. Not when Zoya's memories remain with me. Dilshaad, almost as if she'd read his mind, replied, "I know that Zoya's memories remain fresh in your mind. I can only tell you what's best for you, its your choice to listen to me, or not. Yet, I'm repeating this, you have a whole life to look up to, instead of spending it all in misery, you should move on." With that, she got up and walked away.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Ms. Khan, please get the paperwork for the finalization of the deal done, by next week. We can't afford to have it extended any further." "Yes sir.", Zoya replied and he walked away. She went back to her room and picked up the phone as it rung, "Coral Enterprises. How can we help you?", she asked putting up an extremely fake, cheery voice. She nodded to the person on the phone, as she typed down something on the computer in front of her. She put the phone down and sighed. How long was she gonna live like this? How long would she be able to stand it? She found a tear making its way down her cheek, yet again. She quickly wiped it away, before she went berserk. Just then, somebody knocked at her door, glad that she'd found a distraction, she called the person outside to come in. "Good morning. Please take a seat." The person sat down and asked, "I was told that you were the senior consultant manager here." Zoya, yet again found herself putting up a fake smile, she replied, "Yes, that would be me, Zaafira Khan. How can I help you?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Zaafira, me and the girls, are going out to the pub tonight, wanna come?", asked Ileana. Zoya sighed and replied irritated, "How many times do I have to tell you, I don't go to pubs." Ileana replied urging her, "Oh, come on! You are so boring! Why can't you just loosen up and be a bit more fun. Hold on a sec! You're all single and solo right now, with that pretty face of yours, you'll have a hundred boys running behind you. If you stop being a jerk and come with me to the pub, we maybe can fix you up with Jake! He's the most dashing guy you can ever find! Even then, you'll give him a run for his looks. You know, it might even be love at first sight! You and him-" Zoya cut her off sharply, screaming back at her, "SHUT UP!!! You don't need to help me with my personal life and don't you dare even think of fixing me up with someone! If you wanna fix somebody up with someone else, go and find someone else for it, not me!" Ileana was taken aback, she was not expecting this reaction. She knew her friend was a serious person, who doesn't give a second glance at boys, but even then this reaction surprised her. She put her hands up in surrender and replied, "Woah! Chill girl! It's not like I actually tried it or anything. It was just an idea, anyway I knew my boring friend would reject it, so relax. You know, sometimes you make me feel as if you have a really deep past, behind you. Its seems to me as if you're trying to handle rejection." Zoya quickly averted her gaze. Her friend had figured her out, she'd thought Ileana was a happy go lucky girl, who'd not give a second look at people's nature. Unfortunately, she was wrong, seemed like there was more to her, than just a girl who loves to party. Zoya was quick to reply, "No. Keep your weird fantasies to yourself." She knew it was much more than a just a fantasy, but she could not let others know, not when Asad was still looking for her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zoya jumped into her bed, exhausted from the long tiring day of work. Yet again, she found herself drowning in a pool of despair and before she knew it she was crying again. Why did he have to make her feel this way? She badly wanted to be back at home. Home. Where was her home now? She knew as a matter of fact, that it couldn't be there, not Delhi, where she was living in. She knew, she considered home only with the Khans, yet she couldn't deny the fact that she'd been cruelly thrown out of there. She had dreamed big, she'd felt like she'd finally found a family, but then fate had snatched it away, before she could cherish her new found happiness. After that, all her dreams had shattered. She only dreamed nightmares, the worst one was, the fear that Asad might move on. She knew she was purposefully staying away from him, but yet she couldn't deny the fact that she couldn't even think of him being with anyone else. She let the tears fall, for that was all she could do. She squeezed her eyes shut as she remembered the night of their sangeet.
"Zoya, I need to confess something to you." She gulped, knowing what she was gonna hear next will break her heart. "Zoya, I know we're very different from each other, in many ways. You were never the kind of person, I wanted to marry but I..."
She wiped the tears which were steadily rolling down her cheeks, as she remembered the night. She decided to call it a day and was soon again engulfed by sleep, along with it's realms of nightmares.
to be continued...
precap: "Sir, I suggest we accept the deal Coral Enterprises has offered. It's one of the biggest companies in India and it will help expand our company as well." Asad replied blankly, "I'll let you know, when I've decided to accept, it or not."
So that was chapter 2 guys! So finally, I manage to make a long update. I guess, this chapter was a little looser than the first one. I know I've only cleared out Zoya's present situation, but everything will fall into place soon. Plz comment and let me know how this chapter was. Also, don't forget to have a look at the banner. I worked really hard at it. So that's it for now guys! au revoir
note: please send a friend request if u would like to receive pms, as its much easier for me to send them in one go, rather than individually, but i have sent individual pms for this update, coz i'd not said anything abt sending a frnd request on the first update.
