Thank you! You'll have to wait to find out why 😉 because even I haven't figured it out totally 😃 it won't be revealed in the next chapter either, but maybe in the one after!

I liked it a lot. The flashback romance scenes are very well written. I also liked the meeting in the first chapter and the way you connected it to the first AsYa meeting. I would love to see some of these play out in the real show.

Tx guys for all your lovely comments! Just clarifying that I jad split chapter 3 into two parts, but they are both part of the flashback. Honestly the flashback isn't really even neccessary, but I had the idea and I wanted to write some cute Asya scenes, because obviously they arr separarted in the present. Anywho, will probably put the next chapter up today!

Thank you! I'm writing this story as if it could be used on the show. This is basically how I think the show could go.

Ch. 4

Zoya couldn't help but smile as she remembered those happy memories.

If only we could rewind time and go back.

If only.

"Looks like you must be feeling better."

Zoya looked up, startled, to see Badi bi coming in the room.

"Dadi, I didn't see you there. Come in."

"Well, I saw you smiling amd figured you must be thinking about a very special person."

Zoya smiled again and nodded.

"Was it Asad," Badi bi asked casually.

Now Zoya looked shocked. "What?"

Badi bi went on calmly. "I've seen the love in his eyes for you and I wondered if you have feelings for him too."

"What are you talking about?" Zoya questioned her, trying to avoid giving an answer.

"I always thought you were a perfect match for Ayan, but now I'm not so sure."

"Dadi you were absolutely right." Zoya tried to reassure her. "Ayan is the perfect husband for me. He's just like me, which makes it easier for us to get along."

"Are you telling me the truth?" Badi bi asked watching her face carefully.

Zoya put on her best poker face, and lied straight through her teeth. "Of course, Dadi! How could you think me and Asad were in love with each other? I mean we're so different. He's always so grumpy and bitter. He hates my constant chattering and shariyas. You know how he is."

Badi bi nodded. "So…nothing is going on between you, right?"

"Right." Zoya answered.

"Well with that said, I brought you some coffee. This should help clear your head and stomach."

Badi bi looked at her sternly. "I should also be lecturing you on drinking."

Zoya looked at her meekly.

BadI bi sighed instead. "But I'm sure you learned your lesson, so I'll leave you." She made a face. "Anyways, I'm sure Raziya will have a whole speech to give you! She goes on and on about morals and virtues when she has absolutely none! That woman doesn't know when to shut up!"

Zoya smiled.

"Anyways drink this coffee and take your medicines. Okay?"

"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine!"

Badi bi checked to make sure she was okay and then left the room.

Zoya took a sip of the coffee and wrinkled her nose.

The coffee was absolutely bitter!

That thought just made her heart ache even more, as she remembered those times when her and Asad were upset, and then they would make coffee for each other.

She took another sip. Yep! The coffee was absolutely bitter like him.

But the memories made it sweeter.

————————————————————

Bad bi sat thoughtfully on her bed.

She let Zoya think that she believed her, though she didn't really.

What was going on between Zoya and Asad?

Before, her son had gone through his share of troubles, and had to leave his wife.

She hadn't wanted Ayan to go through that and managed to outsmart Raziya.

But she couldn't get Ayan's happiness at the sake of Zoya's sacrifice.

She would have to get to the bottom of this.

———————————————————-

Zoya was feeling better so she went to the kitchen to help make lunch.

She began to fry the fish and suddenly started feeling nauseous.

She ran to the bathroom to throw up.

After she was she done, she went back to finish cooking the fish, but threw up again.

"What's wrong?" Badi bi asked, worriedly.

"Nothing Dadi, it just… the smell of the fish is making me sick."

Badi bi looked confused. "Hmm. That's weird." Then she snapped her finger. "Its probably just the alcohol. You know, it's still their in your system. It'll go away soon."

"It better," Zoya said, exasperatedly. "I'm never drinking alcohol again! It kills!"

"Well as long as you learned from your mistakes, then All's well that ends well!"
————————————————————

Later Zoya and Humaira went to the market to get some fresh vegetables.

The whole time there was a rather awkward silence between them.

Although they were living in the same house and had found out that they were half-sisters, they still hadn't become close.

Zoya realized that this was mostly her fault. She had married Ayan, while she knew that Humaira was in love with him.

While Zoya had no such feelings for him, Humaira sincerely loved him.

And up until now, they still hadn't managed to bridge the distance.

Once they got to the market, Zoya thought they should split up.

"Why don't you go over there and get the onions, bell peppers, and cauliflower, while I get the rest of the vegetables."

Humaira just nodded and went of, keeping the gap between them intact.

Zoya went to the other side, to buy some tomatoes. She saw a vendor selling good-quality tomatoes and went over to take a look.

"How much are these?" Zoya asked, while reaching for them.

However another hand reached for them too, at the same time.

"Allah Miyan what's-" she paused mid-way after seeing who it was.

"Phoopi!"

"Zoya!"

The two woman hugged, happy to see each other.

"Zoya, it's so good to see you! Things at home are quite boring without you." She said sadly.

"It's not the same without you either, Phoopi. I missed you so much! I guess after spending so much time with you, I'd gotten used to you taking care of me. It's different without you."

Dilshad smoothed her hair lovingly. "We had gotten used to you too, and now it's so quiet at home again."

"Well things are different at Ayan's house too."

"How's everybody treating you there?" Dilshad asked, concernedly.

"Everybody's treating me fine. Don't worry about that. They all take care of me and are very sweet."

And for the most part that was true. Although Humaira was distant with her, she never treated her badly.

The only person who was upfront rude to her was Raziya. Zoya knew she disliked her, because she was her husband's other daughter, or illegitimate, as she said often.

But she didn't mention it to Dilshad, not wanting to worry her with her problems.

"Anyways Phoopi did you come alone or did someone come with you." Zoya asked subtly.

But Phoopi understood why she was asking.

"Actually I didn't come her alone. Asad came with me."

"Really?" Zoya said, trying not to look so happy.

"Yes, he's waiting for me by the car."

"Phoopi if you don't mind-" Zoya hesitated.

Dilshad smiled understandingly. "Go. Go talk to him."

Zoya gave her one of her bubbly smiles in return. Her first real smile in a long time.

"Where is he, Phoopi?"

"Over there." Dilshad pointed to where Asad was standing by the car.

Zoya felt her heart race as she walked over to where he stood.

Dilshad looked on for a moment. She didn't know what had happened between Asad and Zoya, but she prayed to Allah that everything would be sorted out, and that they both got the happiness they deserved.

Asad was looking impatiently at his watch repeatedly.

'Even when he's agitated, he still looks as handsome and dashing as ever.' Zoya thought.

She walked up to him while nervously twisting her dupatta.

Zoya heard him muttering to himself. "What's taking her so long?"

He looked around and stopped when he saw Zoya coming his way.

"Hi," she said softly.

"What are you doing here?" Asad asked, without bothering to greet her back.

"Well I was shopping and I bumped into Phoopi, so…" Zoya trailed off, not sure what to say.

"That's nice." he said emotionlessly. "Well…bye."

Zoya tried not to let the hurt she felt show.

"Asad…I just wanted to apologize for my behavior last night. I was acting pretty stupid."

Asad was a little surprised by her sudden apology. But then he hardened his face and his heart again. "Is that all you wanted to apologize for?" He asked.

What he really wanted to ask was: Why did you leave me? Why did you betray me? Was my love not good enough for you? Weren't we happy together? What went wrong?

But he didn't ask any of these questions and kept them in, like he always did.

Zoya fidgeted around. "What else would I apologize for?"

"Don't act like you're so innocent." Asad snapped. "Do you think I'm stupid to fall for your tricks? You might have a pretty face, but behind that face is the real you! I made a mistake the first time, but I won't do it again."

Zoya was silent for a moment, and tears streamed down her face. "How can you say that?" She finally spoke, her voice coming our softly. "Do you think I was trying to trick you? To use you?"

Asad felt bad now. He didn't mean to make her cry. He always hated seeing tears in her eyes, and now once again he was the reason behind those tears.

But he became cold again. "What else would I think?" He said harshly. "When you divorced me, you got plenty of money, which is just what you wanted, right?"

"Of course not!" Zoya said heatedly, finally losing her cool. "Do you think I'm a gold digger? Why are you constantly berating me, when you don't know the reason behind what I did? You don't know why, so stop acting like you know!" She shouted at him.

"You think I'm a fake person?" Zoya shoved him on the chest.

Asad stumbled back, surprised."Zoya-"

"You're always talked, so now let me talk! She yelled. " You easily tell me that I don't care about you, but the truth is that I do." Zoya said, more tears coming into her eyes. "You think I enjoy hurting you, but I feel your pain more than you."

Asad was taken aback. Was this true?

"I hate seeing tears in your eyes, because I know that I'm responsible for them."

"But you don't seem to understand!" She pushed him again.

"Zoya stop-" Asad said, trying to interrupt her rant.

"You just keep blaming me for everything that goes wrong!"

Zoya shoved him again, but Asad grabbed her arms and pinned her against the car.

"You think I'm wrong and you're right, don't you?" Asad whispered, his face so close to her.

"So why don't you tell me the reason behind what you did."

Zoya stared back in his dark, brown eyes. The eyes that once held so much love for her, were now looking at her in anger.

She tried to avoid his penetrating look. "Well..I…" Zoya stammered. She wasn't able to talk clearly.

First of all, what could she say? She couldn't tell him what happened. No! That would be her secret.

And second of all, having him so close to her, made her heart beat faster, and she wasn't able to think clearly.

"Tell me the reason." Asad insisted.

"Let go of me!" Zoya said, struggling to get out of his grip.

"Why? Can't tell me the truth?" Asad mocked her.

"I don't have to tell you anything! Now leave me!" she pushed him, but he didn't even budge.

"Asad, please! You're hurting me!"

He looked down at where he was holding her and realized how tight his grip was. He let go of her and moved away.

"Asad, all I can tell you, is that I left you for your own good." Zoya said softly. She had calmed down now.

Asad began to say something but Zoya cut him off.

"You might not see it, but honestly you're better of without me."

Asad looked at her with a mixture of disbelief and confusion. "How could I be better off without you?" He said in a hoarse voice.

"Do you know how much I loved you? How much I trusted you?"

Zoya fought the urge to run into his arms and drown herself in his embrace. She wanted to be close to him and to inhale his familiar scent.

But instead she stood, motionless, just watching him in pain.

Asad went on, tears coming in his eyes now. "I loved you more than anything amd anybody else. I thought you understood me, when nobody else did. I thought you were always there for me, when everybody else left my side. You were able to heal my wounds and soothe my pain."

Zoya felt her heart breaking, but didn't allow any emotions to show on her face.

"But then you gave me more pain, reopened my wounds! You ruined my life!" He accused her.

Zoya wanted to scream at him again; wanted to tell him she never met for all this to happen. But she couldn't.

Asad came to her and held her hand. "Please! Please tell me why?" He begged, no longer angry, but just questioning.

Zoya knew she would have to be harsh. She needed him to hate her.She couldn't risk the reason coming out.

Zoya yanked her hand away from him. "I'm sorry but I don't have answers for your questions." She stated coldly. "I'm getting late. Everybody must be wondering how long I'm taking. So I guess I'll be going."

She started walking away from him, but stopped in her tracks and turned around. "And don't worry about me, I'll be fine at home. After all, I have Ayan to take care of me." Zoya inwardly winced at how she sounded. She also didn't miss how Asad tightened his jaw in angerand curled his hand into a fist.

Zoya turned and walked away hurriedly, not wanting him to stop her and to notice the tears flowing down her face.

Asad watched her go away, leaving him alone, just like she did before.

How could she do that to him?

Where was the Zoya he once loved?

She had become so cold, distant, and now rude!

And it suddenly struck him.

She had become just like him.

He looked remorsefully at her retreating figure. All the time before, he had wanted her to have a different personality. But now that he saw what she was like, he wanted the old, cheerful, Zoya, who cared about everybody. Including him.

He wanted her to come back to him.

But she had clearly moved on. She had forgotten him and whatever they once had.

So now it was his turn to move on in life.

To forget.

Okay so was that as bad as I thought it was?

I felt like the whole chapter wasn't that great. Too many rants and just basically crap.

But it took me forever to write it, so this is what you guys get! Sorry!

Hope you enjoyed it anyways:)
