This is small OS inspired solely from Asad's hug after he picked Zoya off the floor during the Sangeet. 😉😉 and my desperate hope to get billi out of the way! Guys please forgive typos I have not edited!😊 Please write back!
Dilshaad was elated watching Zoya and Asad preen to the music completely unaware of all that was going on around them. The crowd, the stares and the smiles. And the fateful fall of the joomar that was to happen soon. Asad was surely in love and soon his bride would know of that she hoped! She would not have to faint anymore to get on with the rituals!
Aapi watched her fragile sister in Asad's arms twirling happily and Asad too was looking at her with all his love. Zoya was right she surely was swept off her feet by the man who was lifting her in sync with the music, as if she was made of cotton wool. She would be safe in his arms Aapi thought.
Asad stepped aside to let Zoya twirl in the halo of the light while he looked at her in sheer awe and undeclared love. The next moment his friends made him blush even more. The shattering noise and the thud that followed made him go absolutely still. He flew to Zoya who was on the floor with the 2 ladies who had saved her. He crouched picked her up and hugged her tight as if to ensure that he would some make everything that was not right right! He held her face and asked her if she was ok! Relief flooding him when a shaken Zoya nodded a " yes".
The dust settled down and he decided he needed to take Zoya away from prying eyes and bare his heart for her. He needed to tell her that instant how important she was. Zoya walked with fear imagining that Asad was going to break her heart. But his eyes said something else. He did not stammer, he was just silent - was he over whlemed? she wondered. His eyes held hers, and she was slowly taking in the affection he seemed to radiate, before the ball of fire rolled towards them throwing Zoya into her nightmare.
Her throat went dry when she heard her voice calling out for her mother in her head. But what squeezed her heart was the sight of Asad running towards the fire. He screamed for help she knew, but she could not move in to help. She needed Asad away from the fire. She had to throw the shawl, she would and she did casting her fear aside. She could not lose another loved one to the fire. She was not 3 and helpless anymore. She moved forward and flung the piece of fabric that would ensure he doused and he was safe. That was what was important..more important than her fear or her nightmare.
Zoya saw a disappearing Asad with Tannu in his arms running to get her to the hospital. Now did she see a smirk. She shook her her head, they surely were dealing with a crisis and that was not the burns.
Zoya had just helped Asad get away from fire ..May be she loved him thought Zoya But he did not love Tannu she was sure of that. Mr.Khan would never look at woman like he looked at her if he was in love with Tannu. He was hers she, learnt that one more time after the dance and the fall tonight.
She followed them to the hospital with the rest of the family. She noticed that Tannu was talking to the Doctor before the Doctor lied to the family that Tannu was yet to come back to her senses.
Asad was worried, he dismissed Zoya;s rebuttal, chose to go with the doctor. Zoya caught a hint of a smile on the sleeping Tannu's face. That was the last straw she knew what she had to do. They let the doctor out Asad was walking towards Tannu to check on her. Zoya took a leaf out her phoophi's book and pretended to faint this time she made sure she would fall on Asad. Zoya he said with worry on his face as he noticed the cut on her arm from her fall earlier in the evening. Did you hurt your her he asked her holding her face between his palms. She nodded a no...Tannu had to open her eyes thought she heard a kiss. She did when a smiling Zoya kissed the rose that she picked from Asad's coat pocket..." mere liye right..." she smiled at a distracted Asad.
Jaaammmi Tannu meowed. Asad was walking towards her before Zoya ran in and plonked herself on Tannu's bed. Tum theek ho Tanveer she asked. "Jaaamii hame bohoot dard..." Zoya tutted with concern looked at Tannu's Jammie and insisted that he be sensitive. Tanveer jaise traditional ladki apke samne is yeh seleeveless hospital gown mei comfortable kaise hogi. App please zara bahar wait kijiye mein jaldi aathi hoon. Agar aapko kuch chahiye toh" nodded Asad "mein Najma ko bulati hoon " completed Zoya.
Asad nodded gravely as he shut the door behind him. Zoya had saved him from the fire she was not going to lose him to the devil. Not when she now knew the game that they were all victims of! She was not going to lose Asad without a fight and not to Tannu "his friend" she concluded. After all he mentioned that in no uncertain terms when she was saving him from Chokalingam Singham!
She would do that again!
