Aajkal butter ki dukaan (BCA) ko dekhar Bready (Zoe ) apne Jammy (Asad) ke liye yahee gaana gaati hogee.😆...Ever since this makhannwaali has come into AsYa's life , Zoe ka heart ishq ke report card mein fail hi hotaa rehtaa hai.😆...
Hmm, first things first.
1. The new montage is lovely and loving but it shows a stark difference between Asad and Zoe as individuals and even the dynamics of their relationship. Asad loves her but his expression of love will always be subtle, ( unless Zoe is dying or flying back to NY) , controlled. His personality will always be a major barrier. But Zoe, as per the new montage , will give away everything that she has to Asad, leaning on to him and centering her life around him ( as we have been seeing the progression of her graph towards Asad). Asad , maybe inexpressive, alienated but always on Zoe's back. And Zoe, with him or without him, but always knowing that he is right there - behind her and he's got her back. Asad is the complication and Zoe is the beauty of this heavily imbalanced and yet inseparable love.
2. Dear writers, Asad is supposed to be a jerk, jackass and a failure at reading people , but as far as i remember he was never a patient of selective amnesia. Him and Zoe had one of the most connecting moments when he found out about her fear of fire and her faint childhood memories. So, it does NOT fit in the story graph at all that Asad , even after regaining composure does not recall that Zoe is scared of fire. I don't see that as the character's fault - its a fault on the writing board. Or maybe you remembered this very well but wanted to take the creative liberty too far so that Aapi gives Asad a full fledged version of the fire trauma. Still, its A CRIMINAL FAULT on the writing board itself. This is neither in character of Asad nor is it fitting anywhere in the screenplay flow.
Anyway, coming on to the episode, it was one of those usual real life situations . Caught between my best friend who happens to be a super-dukhee-ablaa-naari-har-tarah-se-zaalim-zamaane-ke-bojhh-ki-maaree and my true love with whom my status quo is just as good as Indian Government's execution of their 5 year plans.
Its frustrating and irritating but to be caught between your love and your best friend is one catch 22 situation that nobody wants to get in. And definitely not when your best friend happens to be a world class psycho and your love is just as complicated as the mystery of Bermuda Triangle. There is nothing that i can say about Asad that i have not said before. He uses his heart to think. His logic is limited to building foundations and approving architectural plans.And the worst of the worst is that Asad has no valid or even invalid reason to suspect that makkhan waali for anything. And as much as he loves Zoe, he may have accepted her faults ( lying , reacting impulsively) but that acceptance does not extend to others. For me, he is a gullible horse-blinder-wearing impressionable man who is caught in a situation whose reins are in BCA's hands. And since Zoe has no idea what is happening , this has become a one-woman show.
I hate to say this but Asad has to see BCA in her evil devilry and in action to not only believe Zoe ( that is if Zoe finds out soon enough ) , but also to receive the whiplash of his life - that teaches him that he should stick to his original personality - trust no one and have blind faith in none. Ironically, Tannu's fiasco will only remind Asad of his original code book where he trusts nobody. Quite sad.Actually. Trust aur Asad ki kucch khaas bantee nahiin hai aur lagtaa bhi nahiin ki kabhi banegi.
Coming to Zoe, i don't blame her for not howling back at Asad and telling him or rather reminding him ( gah! Gullu! Whatcha writers doing? Make a reference board in the writer's room with pointers of each episode ) ... that she is scared of fire. Its a deep fear and childhood trauma tends to clam you up. You cannot really talk or express exactly what you are feeling or what really happened. You need a therapist to pull you out of there.
I have often seen members curse Zoe too for depending so much on Asad , not answering him back and centering her existence around him. Why? Asad may not be the ideal man that you or me are gonna go for but he is the man Zoe formed a connection with - someone who saw her vulnerable side and inspite of all the judging, hatred, prejudice and fights stood by her through thick and thin. The only downside that i see is that Asad has become Zoe's weakness. That is one point that Zoe needs to counter. He is her love, frenemy , guide, soulmate and she should see him as a force of her life - as her strength. Not her weakness.
No comments on Makkhanwaali man. Aaj uskee taareef Asad ne hi ittni kar dee ki mere bolne ki kya zaroorat hai.
For the rest. my heart went out to Nikhat today. A saas like Hassu and a hubby like Immzie. What is this world coming to, Gullu?
And as i sign off from the post, i have to mention that am liking the dynamics between Asad and Aapi. They have had just two scenes together and am taking the precap also into consideration. Asad has a lot of respect and regard for Aapi. And Aapi seems to see him beyond his jackass colours for now at least. When the question on the Nikaah was to be answered, Aapi only wanted Asad's truth. Asad was howling at Zoe in front of Dilshoo and Tamaatar but as soon as he saw Aapi, he switched off. Aapi saw the exchange between Asad and Zoe today - but instead of jumping to the conclusion that what a jackass Asad is, she chose to speak to Asad and tell him the truth. And Asad listened. Its like Asad honours Aapi and her words while Aapi sees the man Asad is beyond his bipolar personality.
P.S- Dekho PH kitnaa dartaa hai? The first shot in the precap is of a guilty and tearful Asad hearing Zoe ki aag ki kahaani. 😆...But still, this is a big creative glitch on the writers' side. Its not even a liberty with Asad's character. Its a liberty taken with the script itself. Asad KNOWS that Zoe is unsettled by fire. Toh phir aaj kya uskee memory ke pancakes ban gaye the?
P.P.S - Karan and Surbhi seem fed up of BCA ( not Amrapali )- these recent interviews, they have been bashing and insulting BCA right-left-center. Abb toh sun bhi lo, Gullu. Tumhaare actors bhi thakk gaye hain Makkhanwaali se and even Amrapali ships AsYa.😆
