{|AsYa| OS: Sweet Dreams...}

'Ms. Farooqui? What are you doing here at this time?!', Asad exclaimed seeing her standing outside his room at the middle of the night.

'I can't sleep Mr. Khan!', Zoya whinned.

'So you came here to wake me up aswell?'

'Yes. I was bored!'

'Ms. Farooqui, please! Leave!'

Asad shut the door, with Zoya still standing outside. On not hearing any bang on the door, no protests from Zoya, no footsteps telling him she had left, he became a little curious as to what she was upto. Had she left?

He walked back towards the door, opened it slightly to take a peek outside, only to find Zoya sitting on the floor right outside his room, her back towards him. Saying Asad was shocked would be an understatement.

'Ms. Farooqui?!', he exclaimed. 'Please get up!'

On hearing no response, he crouched down, so that his face would be at the the same level as Zoya's. But she refused to face him. She sat there, looking at the floor, her hair sheilding her face from Asad's view.

'Ms. Farooqui? Can you please get up? This is too childish!', he tried again.

No response. Though he could have sworn he saw her shoulders shaking slightly. His whole body tensed up, and worry took over him.

'Zoya?', he spoke ever so lightly, placing one of his hands on her shoulder, gently shaking her.

He was caught off guard when Zoya all of a sudden, turned towards him, and crashed against his chest, making him lose his balance and fall back.

The door frame luckily stopped him from falling on his head, with Zoya on top. He looked at the figure which tightly clung onto him as if her life depended on it.

'I can't, I can't do it anymore, Asad! I'm tired', she cried.

It took exactly two minutes for Asad to register what had happened. On realising she was crying and shivering, he quickly encircled his own arms around her, holding her tightly against him, and caressing her back, hoping she would calm down soon.

Zoya lifted her head from his chest, to see Asad's face really close to hers. His breath fanning her face. One look into his eyes, and she could feel herself calm down. Seeing so much concern, worry, love in his eyes made her remember the reason of her crying again as she knew only this man could comfort her. She threw herself back in the comfort of his chest, and started crying again.

Asad didn't know what to do. His heart told him to push her face away a little so he could wipe away all her tears. His heart wanted to cry along with her, for her tears caused immense pain in him. His heart wanted to ask her what happened. But his mind told him to let her be, let her cry her heart out, let her calm down on herself, before he threw his questions at her.

'Buhaut hua, Asad! Mein thakk gayi hoon', she said against his chest, her voice breaking.

'Shh, Zoya, bas', Asad said softly, pushing her face deeper into the crook of his neck.

Asad could not take it anymore. His heart over-ruled his mind as after a few minutes like that, he pushed Zoya's face away a little, wiped her tears with his thumb, every tear killing him inside. He could see fresh tears brimming in her eyes and his control snapped.

'What happened, Zoya?! Did someone say something? Did someone do something? Who?', Asad asked, all in one breath.

'Asad, I can't handle the nightmares anymore! I can't!', Zoya screamed in sheer pain, pulling herself away from Asad's hug, her head thrown in her hands.

Tears formed in Asad's eyes seeing the one woman he loved more than his life breaking like this. He didn't need to think twice to figure out what her problem was. The nightmare. The fire in her nightmare, the screams of a woman, of a little girl.

He quickly stood up and helped Zoya on her feet, holding her weak body against his and walking inside his room, towards his bed. He made her sit on his bed and knelt down infront of her, on his knees, holding her hands.

'Zoya listen to me', he urged, rubbing the back of her hands with his thumbs.

Zoya looked into his eyes to find all the warmth she needed. She could see so much love, that amidst the pain, she could see hope. Hope of a less torturous future.

'Everybody has nightmares. But one can not give into them. Zoya, you're the strongest girl I've ever seen', Asad said in softly, looking straight into her eyes.

'When I first met you, and I saw you using your pepper spray to protect yourself, I knew it then. You're no ordinary girl, Zoya. I thought I was strong enough but I was wrong. You live life for others. Going here and there spreading happiness in others life, making others happy when you're feeling alone and sad. But what do I do? Corner myslef from the world when I feel sad'.

Zoya could hear his voice cracking as he spoke. She wished she could comfort him, but her body lacked strength. She was tired. She was already feeling better, hearing his words, seeing the love in his eyes, but she was exhausted.

Asad saw Zoya shut her eyes in pain. He gave a gentle squeeze to her hands, making Zoya open her eyes and look deep into his. Exactly what he wanted. He was never good with words, he hoped Zoya could read his eyes.

Zoya clutched Asad's shirt from near his shoulder and pulled at it, weakly. Asad didn't know what she wanted, so he just let her pull him. He stood up and sat besides her on the bed, and he saw Zoya realse his shirt. Maybe she wanted me to sit with her, he thought.

As soon as he got up on the bed, Zoya threw herself sideways, into Asad's rock hard body. Asad quickly wrapped his arms around her, not knowing what else to do.

Is she not feeling okay? Is she sick? Why isn't she saying anything? Why are her eyes half closed? Why does she look so weak? Asad's mind was in a frenzy.

'Zoya?', he let out softly, tucking a lose tendril behind her ear.

'Hmm?', Zoya asked, her voice almost unaudible.

'Are you okay? Do you want me to call the doctor?', Asad asked, placing his hand on her temple, to check whether she had a temperature. He sighed in relief finding none.

'I'm okay', Zoya replied, in a small voice.

'Can I please stay like this for a while?', she asked. 'It makes me feel better'.

Asad found his heart melting instantly. She was so innocent, so trusting. She was surely his angel. She was so strong, but today seeing her this weak had broken him. He'l make sure noone ever sees her this vulnerable. Ever. He'l always protect her, always be with her, always make her feel better. His Zoya. Yes, his.

'For as long as you want', Asad replied softly, but was dead sure she hadn't heard for he could hear her snoring slightly.

Asad smiled. Maybe someday they could fight their demons together. Maybe someday they could make sure nothing troubled them anymore. But for now, they would just comfort each other with their own presence, calming each other, protecting each other.

After he was sure she was in her deep sleep, he carefully lifted her up a bit, lest she wokeup, and gently laid her back on his bed, properly so she slept more comfortably. He thought about sleeping in the lounge then, when he remembered the little assurance he had made to Zoya not so long ago that she could sit against him. He was also worried she might wakeup with her nightmare again.

He decided not to leave her side tonight. He held her hand ever so smoothly, and sat on the floor, next to the bed, resting his back against the side drawer.

He soon dozed off, his head falling sideways on the bed, close to Zoya's face, his hands holding hers tightly as his arm rested on top of the bed lest Zoya got uncomfortable. Zoya too slept peacefully, a small smile playing across her lips.

And that was how the two were found early in the morning by a very worried Dilshaad who had found Zoya's bedroom empty. On seeing her two beloved children sleeping so peacefully like this, she smiled the biggest smile a mother can smile in her lifetime. They were perfect for each other, she thought. She sent a silent prayer towards the Almighty to always keep them happy, away from the troubles and worries of the world and always together.

She looked on at the little smiles playing on the corner of both Asad and Zoya's lips. Probably having really sweet dreams about each other, she thought smiling inwardly.

'Sweet Dreams, my lovely children. Sweet dreams', she whispered to the sleeping Asad and Zoya, before closing the door behind her, deciding to let them sleep a little longer for tomorrow would be one awkward morning for them, she thought giggling to herself.
