A very sensible post,I must say.
It's your right to like or not like an actor on personal basis.
I love KSG because he is a brilliant actor and what he does in his personal life hardly bothers me.
Personally,I feel that we cannot judge a person without meeting him.a few interviews can't reveal much about a person until and unless you meet him personally and spend some time with him.I can't make a very strong opinion about a person I've never met.KSG entertains me to the fullest and that's why I love him.
So what if KSG appears self-centered??why does it bothers you or anyone,I fail to understand.
KSG is a human and noone is perfect!!We all have our share of good and bad aspects and so is KSG.I think we should not call him self-centered just by a few statements. He might appear to be self-centered and I think today everyone thinks about himself before others.KSG has full right to speak what he feels and he uses his freedom of speech nicely. His answers are honest and never ever diplomaticTthis is the best thing about him.
Rather than being self-centered,I find KSG honest and carefree person. He is a man who is on TV for 2 things-work and fame.He hardly cares about what others talk or think about him.He does what he feels is right for him.He is only concerned about his family, friends and fans.He loves his fans a lot.
As Vicky rightly said,KSG is a very COMPLICATED person. The more you try to understand him,the more confused you are.
He is an enigma and it's really hard to understand his behaviour and attitude by a few interviewsđ
I've seen KSG since past 6 years and 1 thing I know about him.He is a very straight forward person. He believes in saying things on face rather than back-biting.
If he does not appreciate something,he can say it in a crowd of millions which I believe can be done very few people in this world.
I'm proud to be his fan.Today, his interview proved that he is a man who can't stand injustice. He had an award in his hand and rightly he should have praised the jury coz jury selected him for that award but he didn't do that. This is because he felt that the awards given were not fair and so,instead of being acting diplomatic with a fake smile(as he himself said in the beginning of his interview) he chose to speak the truth. He said it in general for award shows. He was not saying that he should have won.He talked about favouritism to channels or PH which is quite usually seen in the awards and is much evident in this ITA.
KSG has been very kind and loyal to his fans. He is aware about the popularity of all the actors.By his statement, he was hinting at jury and not at the voters because we all are aware that the awards that were given were not based on public voting solely.
I respect your opinion and really loved the way you have put across your point.
In the end,it's ur choice to like an actor or not.KSG is an outstanding actor and I think he deserves all the appreciations for that.
We all have the right to express ourselves and so does KSG.
Regarding comparisons,KSG is not at all fond of it and personally,I also hate it when people compare me with someone else.It hardly makes him appear self-centered.
I wonder why everyone is bashing him for that.I'm so glad that he voiced the opinions of his fans..
Anyways,I enjoyed reading ur post as you have put across your points in a very nice manner.
I wished to write my views on KSG using ur thread coz I've been too much irritated to see few people bashing KSG at other forums and ITA discussion thread for his statement.
Seriously,I don't understand why people wish to interfere in an actor's personal life soo much.how would they feel if someone keeps an eye on them 24*7 and makes a huge issue out of nothing for a single statement..
Again,I would say that I really appreciate this thread and am loving the discussions over here.
It's just that when things come to KSG,I just loose control when I start typing.đSorry if I've hurt u or anyone unintentionally.
Keep writing!
Take care!

Mods I am not sure if I am allowed to make such a topic but I merely wanted to express my opinion and I am not bashing him so please dont shut it down.So before you all go nuts hear me out. And no I am not from some other forum coming here to bash or whatever KSG. I come here regularly and write for QB too.Getting back to the point. I have watched some of Karan's SBS/SBB interviews and I really get the feeling that he is self-centered sort of individual. The other day when asad-zoya was bein compared to Shahrukh and Kajol he freaked out and said all these thins. Basically implying that he was in a league of his own so dont compare him to Shahrukh. Okay some people dont like comparisons but there was no need to take it so personally. Like dude calm down. That interview in itself made me think he was kinda self-centered. It was supposed to be a compliment not an insult and even if you feel insulted calm down...the reasons he felt insulted seemed self centered. And then I just read the update for today's interview. He didn't win best actor so he is angry. But this is life man, you don't always win. Learn to accept defeat gracefully, that is the sign of a good matured individual. What he said about the voters was uncalled for. He said "if so you are not fit to be in the jury," but Karan there is no "jury" in the sense that this isn't life and death. It is a voters choice thing and usually whoever is the most popular will win. If voters want to vote for a production house, then fine it doesnt reflect the true talent, but that is the voters choice. You do not get to insult the voters. Then again remember that these same voters have to vote next year and because you said such things...they may not like you as much. You lost, why be a sore loser? Did you consider even the remote possibility that maybe there might have been someone better that is why they won rather than automatically assuming voters voted to support PH and their favorite shows rather than talent. Which may be the case but the fact that he didnt even think twice...that says a lot about him. Maybe he is just that confident but according to me that seems borderline over-confidence...too much emphasis on the SELF.Anyways, these interviews just made me think he is not exactly the kind of person I would hang out with since he seems to self absorbed.Regardless, I am not a Karan diwani or any actor diwaani. I do not follow actors lives closely or even remotely. I occasionally might watch SBS and catch an interview, but I honestly just watch the tv show. I like Asad, and I think Karan is an amazing actor yes. I do believe his acting is AMAZNG, but in his personal life I may not like him that much considering he doesnt seem to have humility.Do you get what I am trying to say? Do you agree and if you dont can you explain why not. I would like to believe there is an alternate explanation then my theory, but right now I don't. Btw, I dont think anyone will agree with me for what its worth, since I already browsed through the forum and everyone just gives excuses for his behavior or condones it and says shahbash mere sheer type thing.

What you call 'self-centered' and 'over-confidence', I call it having the guts to speak up for what's right! It's easy for us to say all this, but if you try to put yourself in the actor's shoes then you'll realise that whatever he said was completely called for and in all honesty I'm glad he voiced his opinion for what he felt was wrong and completely unfair! I mean what is the point of having awards when they're all going to be fixed, what is the point of asking fans to spend their time voting when their votes aren't even gonna get counted :S
If there is any actor on TV atm who is giving his best shot for each and every scene, who puts his heart and soul into performing every scene with perfection it's KSG and I'm not just saying this because I'm his fan, but it's true even a blind person can tell who deserved that award, yet he still didn't get it thanks to biased voters who just seem to be sucking up to the channels and sponsors, his hurt is obvious and I can completely understand his plight. Not everyone has the guts to speak the truth and most actors take the easy way out by being all diplomatic, only a few are confident enough to be man and speak what's on their mind, no matter what the situation is and I truly respect him for his honesty. We're all human beings at the end of the day and we all get hurt when we really deserve something but still don't get it, so IMO his reaction was completely understandable :)
PS - I don't know anything about the SRK-Kajol comparison so I'll not comment on that.

Yes I dont know anythng about his past. I dont keep up with the personal life of actors.Clearly I was wrong about Karan being like that.So he was poor apparently...if what you say is right and slept on railway station. So I will edit that comment out. But I wasnt saying that Karan is rich. I was saying I know guys who are rich and attractive and its gone to their head.Plus it could have gone to his head now that he is rich and famous. Could being the word...dont know if it has.
