My dear
in muslims an engagement is not an essential prt of marriage. In fact in some families the boy doesnt get to wear a ring at all. (prbably stems from the faact that men are not allowed to wear gold ornamnets in Islam- only a maximum of a silver ring- it is haraam for a man to wear gold)

Not just in muslims many other communities and even in christians as per old testment groom's family goes to brides place with gold ornaments not necessarily ONLY Ring, mostly groom's sister does the ceremony and His presence is not required

Just wrote this on another post..gonna write it here now...Here in the west, the guy proposes to the girl and if she says yes then he just puts the ring on her finger. He basically makes (claims) the girl his bride-to-be by putting a ring on her. Girl doesn't put the ring because its the guy "asking" the girl to marry him. On the wedding day, the couple puts wedding band on each other (the formal ring exchange). So the girl wears two things, the ring and the wedding band on the ring finger!!! Don't know how it's done in the east/muslim culture but that's just how we do here in the west.. So it's not a blooper by Qubool Hai team...Asad as traditional as he is, his proposal was definitely western or I should say modern Indian/filmy!!!! I guess with India westernizing so much..maybe it's trending in India now?
