Kal Meri Sagai Hai : Epi Apr 15
Two half-brothers, two half-sisters, two families and two engagements. Sounds like an ideal situation- 'hum saath saath hain,' kind of story till one writes the footnote to this fairytale.
Coercion (Ayaan-Humeira)
Fooling the law (Asya)
Two stubborn hearts who can't express themselves (Asya)
One angry young man who doesn't love anyone but himself (Ayaan)
One dreamy, young girl, oblivious of reality (Humeira)
Two warring families
Two evil women'
Guess what, you have ingredients for a potboiler with deceit, anger, betrayal and pain all raging to flow over.
Asad: Caught between the law and his desire to see his lady love stay back in India. A man of high principles has found himself in a very precarious situation. He can do anything for Zoya's wellbeing and now, not only has he lied about the toss, he has lied to the immigration officer about his pending engagement with Zoya. Although, he has played along, one could sense his discomfort when DB interrogated them about their love story. However, when he spoke the truth, he was very comfortable, composed and honest about his feelings. I am so glad he reminisced the Dargah scene- one of my favorite scenes from the show and I am glad we were all right all along- Asad did fall in love at first sight. Today, one could see the love in his eyes as he recalled each detail of the girl who he had first spotted at the Dargah. He remembered her beauty, her shawl, her tears and how moved he was by that sight. It was this honest confession that convinced DB. Their made up puppy and horse stories did nothing for DB. Does Asad realize, if he is honest to himself and others, no one can separate him from Zoya? The only person who can do that is Asad and his dishonesty. I loved the way Zoya gazed at him- disbelief and surprise written all over her face. Perhaps, this knowledge will give Zoya the strength to deal with all the problems coming her way.
Zoya: She was her usual effusive and talkative self. Give her a situation that needs drama, she excels in it. One did get an insight to her dreams though. I think she still dreams of a Yash Chopra type hero who will decorate the room for her with flowers and get down on his knees. There lies her problem. Her hero is right beside her, she has all the signs that she is crazy about him, but she hasn't connected the dots yet. A man who can lie and lay his life to save her is not yet in her book of definitions of love. She needs a big jolt and perhaps, that's why we will see the separation track soon. When Asad asked her ,"kya aap mujhse sagai karna chaahti hain?" She was taken aback. His sudden question threw her off and like Asad, she went into defensive mode. Alas, if she had said 'yes,' the story would have been different.
Ayaan: Looks like he has finally come to terms with Razia's blackmail tactics. Reluctant, but he has agreed to fulfill his promise. Hope he also remembers his promise to Zoya and doesn't hurt Humeira in the process. He has laid a condition for his engagement- he wants Asad at the ceremony. Asad, the stubborn man that he is, has refused to attend the engagement. His 'fiancee' has now decided to step in and we all know what will happen next. I really wish SBS would not reveal such important plots to us.
I loved the phone conversation between the brothers and father-son. It was very touching and well enacted.
Humeira: Loved her innocent dance on 'yaara dhol bajaa ke' I really feel for this girl as the dhol sounds will be short lived and the noise of a heartbreak will echo for a long time.
Dilshaad: I want to mention her here today as for the first time I thought, she really wants Zoya as her bahu. Her enthusiasm about the engagement was palpable and the fact she gave Asad the ring she has reserved for her genuine DIL, shows has accepted this relationship. Perhaps, she knows her son and that's why she feels this might the best way to get him engaged to woman she also approves of.
Shireen: Black magic has definitely engulfed her personality. Her voice, demeanor, assertiveness were all not so Shireen-like today. It just goes to show, that one can really influence someone's mind, especially if they are gullible and brainwash them completely. Razia is the tantric and Shireen her victim.
I am making no predictions and no symbolisms today as I am upset with SBS/SBB for revealing the future plot to us. They have ruined that curiosity in me.
Let's enjoy what the PH has in store for us. I am sure these star crossed love birds will eventually find their nests, but not before migrating through many arduous journeys.
