Part 14:

Asad Zoya and Ammi were enjoying a balmy morning. Zoya was better now and Asad had just got back from his run. Ammi and Zoya seemed very excited for the last couple of days. Asad was really tied down with work. Work on the school project was progressing very satisfactorily and Asad would have good news to share with the lady he thought. He now kept a closer tab on the company's finance after the problem with his accounts and was considering adding another layer of security to his office. That would be a necessity with the school project coming up and Asad always worked anticipating needs rather than react to situations. That was what made him the leader that he was. He got underway with his list of things to do. Right now that was Zoyatime. He walked purposefully to Zoya asked Ammi if he could borrow her for sometime, explained what he wanted to beef up systems security and asked her if she could come up with recommendations. Zoya was happy that she could help but said she would like to look at what was in place before she could make recommendations.

Asad and Zoya left for Dilshhad constructions. They walked into his office and waited there for the IT Head to join them. Asad did not want to raise any hackles in the office so he chose to make it appear that Zoya was in his room on a private visit. The IT Head knew what Zoya was there for and came prepared to meet her. Zoya got granular ,asked questions, sought information nodded cheerfully to the young lady in front of her, handling out a few instructions to be carried out and sought to meet her again tomorrow once the job was done. Asad in the meanwhile had been working away at his table on all that he had to do. He could not help but glance at his wife every now and then, thanking Allah for sending in his life. His was a true partner, a friend and now a very integral part of his work team, she was simply the centre of his Universe. He could wait to be alone with her again. Who would have thought that Asad Ahmed Khan would be in his office, with his working wife was seated 10 feet away locked in serious discussions while he had wild thought of reaching out and kissing her. As soon as Zoya free he got up locked his room grabbed Zoya and kissed her soundly. She laughed and warned him " you know Asad I can never be calm or hushed when you do these things to me." "Hmmm" said Asad brightly, held her hand "Zoya I could get used to this life...having you at arm's length all the time. The good thing is productivity increases many fold!" he smiled. " Anything for you Tiger" she said hugging him. He shook himself fussed over her as he helped her stretch out while she went back to reading over the information she had on hand.

Zoya was due for visit to the clinic later that afternoon. He had a meeting later that afternoon at the school site. When Zoya heard that she Asad asked to proceed to his pre-set meeting and that she would go to the clinic with Dlshaad and "you can come home when you can" she said. "Do you have another ultrasound today?" he asked her. There were 2 things the were weighing on his mind - the chance seeing his unborn baby and Arif. Zoya read his thoughts and said " he is not so bad that I would need you to protect me; and there will pictures you know.. but no I don't have an ultrasoud today".

Asad and Zoya headed home for lunch and he set out for his site visit and Dilshaad and Zoya would visit the clinic later in the day.

There was commotion in the clinic that afternoon. Zoya and Dilshaad were relieved that everything was well with Zoya and the baby. Dilshaad was thrilled to hear the baby as was Zoya who was thinking of Asad when saw they Police walk in. A man stormed into Dr.Chaaya's room only to be yanked back by a furious Arif. He physically put himself between the man and Dr.Chaaya and pushed him away. The police were there dragging him away, Dilshaad and Zoya had tears glistening in their eyes when they saw a young girl walk out from Dr.Arif's office , all beaten and bruised. The nurses took her away while Arif ran behind the broken patient after ensuring Dr.Chaaya was safe. He barked instructions to the receptionist to call Harish over while he disappeared behind the "Day Surgery" doors. Dilshaad was relieved that Zoya had not seen the man that was dragged away - Akram!

Dilshaad and Zoya went to check on Dr.Chaaya and chose to wait till Harish her son reached there. Things were slowly settling back to normal by the time Dr.Arif emerged through the doors; surgery reporting to Dr.Chaaya that the mother was on the road to recovery. She knew that they had lost they baby although Arif chose not to mention it. Her appreciation of the way Arif handled the crisis was there for all to see and Dilshaad did not miss it either. He quickly looped his arm through Zoya's as he said "you leave the clinic soon before we have a growling Asad Ahmed Khan here" trying to lighten the situation for everyone around.

Dilshaad and Zoya were happy to be home. Home felt like heaven today. Asad was back after his site visit. He was happy to hear his Ammi talk of the baby. He was also happy his client was happy with all that he told her about her school. This project was going to be enjoyable for them he hoped.

Two significant things happened in Asad and Zoya's life that day. Akram crossed Zoya's life again and Asad and his school project were watched. The couple were blissfully in each other's arms unaware of both. Asad was leaning on his bed's headboard, legs outstretched, and Zoya across; with her head on his lap, facing his torso and looking at his "6 packs". Zoya after a lot of deliberation; slipped in " Asad can we go to your office when no one is around I want to put in a camera in your room and reset your server so I can access this from home. I have ordered for a new computer so I can help you from home." :Anything for you as long as you as you are not going to stop kissing my torso. I must be the only idiot smiling through my burpees in the gym." he laughed into his wife's hair. She smiled back as only she could - in awe and absolute affection for her Tiger!
