My problem is with his behavior in light of the statements he has made- jeans bad, shayari bad, being bubbly bad, going out past 7 bad, standing on the bed bad, larko ke moo lagna in order to save Najma bad, cricket (freaking its only a match) dekhne jana bad, entering without knocking bad, and the sharm aurat ka gehna hai lecture is reserved for Zoya only. If she is being accused of exhibiting herself (on the day she ran away) which invited unwanted glances from men, then why doesn't he see as much fault in himself hugging a woman he isn't married to- if indeed that is his level of conservative thinking? His behavior doesn't add up to me. I used to watch PV and Arjun hugging or pacifying Ovi when he was in a relationship with Purvi did not bother me- a little but almost insignificant compared to Asad's case. so, the bottom line is it is not about a single man hugging his friend, the issue is about a houlier than thou guy bending the rules for himself, the the double standards he is exhibiting. Do you guys remember he told Zoya she could not meet 'mahinder' alone?? Furthermore, he turns a half blind eye to Ayaans flirtation too. Hypocrisy.

Yes he is a hypocrite, and he does have double standards for men and women, but that has been established since day one. Many men and women in real life do exhibit this kind of hypocrisy and that has been exhibited too! His problem with Zoya being out of the house too late, etc, is annoying I agree, but in some sense it is also understandable. It is NOT safe for a woman to be out late at night in many parts of the world. And yes he is conservative and overly-possessive, but he has not been shown having a problem with Zoya talking to a male FRIEND. EVER. We are just assuming that he does. So therefore him hugging Tanveer is NOT hypocrisy, because she is his really close childhood friend, not some random girl who he is flirting with!

Asad is not a perfect guy, but that is his character - he is conservative and overly possessive, but his treatment of Tanveer, according to me, does not lead to us questioning his character, because he is not doing anything "HAWW" worthy.

To me, his character has been stretched to accommodate the storyline, to make Zoya really feel the pangs of painand jealousy. For 'his' level of conservativeness, his behavior does raise eyebrows. He is judgmental and close-minded and we accept it-because were he not then there'd be no room for charcter growth. His hypocrisy or double standards, however, willnever be addressed/changed over time in this story per my assumption. I hope the CVs doproveme wrong in the future. I agreeto disagree.

I think the fact that his character is imperfect implies that there is a huge room for character growth.

Yes, let's agree to disagree 😊.
