"Mere puppyface par taras khaaiye please,Mr.Khan."
Little does Zoe know that the line she has delivered to Asad today in a fun despo way to convince him for tappari-waali-plotting-waali-cutting-chaai could take a serious twist tomorrow. She might just need some desperate 'taras' on her actual 'puppyface' when Asad comes to know what his Mona did with his Raabert to trap him.
Anyway, that later. Today what stands out is the truth, honesty, compassion , empathy and bonding of AsYa within the frame of lies, plots, plans and manipulation that Zoe has woven to save Rashid from Asad's wrath. Zoe's tears and child-like hiccup sobbing on the realization that she is very close to finding her Abbu , Asad's quiet observation of her crumbling but it registering with him, nevertheless, Zoe not wanting to cry in front of Asad but the moment he places his hand on her shoulder gingerly and hesitantly but with a heartfelt utterance of her name - Zoya, she turns around and clings to him like a 9 year old clings to an elder , sobbing on something that he/she is lost. Asad struck by her embrace but making an effort to give her the comfort she wants. A man whom you have never seen hug his Ammie or his sister , makes an effort to physically express compassion and empathy as Zoe crumbles in his arms. He is struck by her misery but his job is to give her strength until she cries and he does that . A Herculean effort for a man who won't remember when was the last time that he touched his own cheek. He holds her in his arms until she cries and the screen fades out.
Later, Asad gives Zoe the solace and reality check in the best way that he can. He sees Zoe still tearful and lost . He walks back to her and after assuring that she is ok indeed, he asks her a very basic and legitimate question - Doesn't it ever hit you that your Abbu never tried to find you? Zoe again exposes her need and desperation for her father's love by giving him a benefit of doubt.. Asad is not convinced at all and he feels that Zoe is riding on false horses of hope but he doesn't argue further , looking at his Zoe's truly puppywaala face. Does Zoe take offence that Asad is doubting her Abbu? NO. She simply tells Asad that she understands where he is coming from but she wants to wait for her Abbu's POV. Asad says nothing . He makes her sit in the car and they are all set to go back to Bhopal.
ALL THE ABOVE. All of it is true, honest and from-the-heart. The peripheral weaving maybe of trapping and manipulation but whatever Asad saw there at the bungalow was Zoe's heart and her hunger for love and acceptance. Zoe's mind is at work but her heart is on a work of its own.
Later, Zoe uses her new-found liberties with Asad to its full advantage so that Ayaan can drink the petrol from Asad's SUV. To tease Asad with a hint of coquettish coy charm and ask him if he is jealous that she spoke to 'Raabert'. To force Asad to stop at a tappri waala to have tea. To weave lies after lies knowing that Asad will be amused and irritated but will believe her. To act like a spoilt princess and crib about tea and make Asad treat her like royalty. And for Asad to give in to Zoe's demands , no matter how irritated he felt. How was all this possible? It was possible because Asad TRUSTS Zoe and he has ACCEPTED her as she is, even if its a task for him to adapt to her ways.
Trust and acceptance. They were just finding way into Asad and Zoe's otherwise volatile relationship but when the court-jaane-se-roko-plan foils, then? What is Asad going to think about Zoe? How is Zoe ever going to convince Asad that she did make a choice but in hearts of hearts she is honest with him? Will Asad take away the Princess treatment from Zoe? Looking at the personalities of both, expect some melodrama, i guess.
As for the rest of the episode, Billo Rani is perhaps that Chhammak Challlo type spy who is a now a stylish kaamwaali bai at Asad's house. Secondly, whoever is playing this game with Razia is underestimating her. You can scare a monster just once-twice with a fire torch. The next time, the monster has a plan that you are not ready for. Razia is that kind of a monster.
Best part was , Zoe asking Asad rather smugly and with a hint of playful hope that is he jealous that she spoke to another man on phone? It came out of nowhere in the conversation , true but it reflected how she feels about Asad and his 101% attention to her. Of course, Asad had to ruin it all by saying 'Oh please!' Now , i don't think Zoe is going to love the upcoming Salwaar Kameez too much when she lands in Asad's life. Considering that Zoe and Asad will be at the mirchi-pakoda stage , thanks to the court waala backstab.
Favorite moment- Not the hug as its in its own league. It was Asad patiently serving tea after tea to Zoe and bearing her princess tantrums. The way Asad was standing was HILARIOUS.
All the best with the puppyface Zoe. You are so gonna need it , looking at Asad's track record of khaaoing taras on you. 😆
