Yesterday's and today's episodes were a disaster for me- this, despite the fact that the slap episode was not disastrous for me-shocking and unwanted yes, but not disastrous. I cannot believe that all it took Zoya to forgive him was coffee. Even her Aapi didn't raise her hand on her when she ditched her groom-to-be. These episodes would have been amazing if either the slap was omitted OR the regret track was longer, more intense and more meaninful.

She spits her coffee out-thereby turning everything into a joke. And he gives that familiar look of disdain. And then she goes off on a tangent about his family and his father. And he brushes her off yet again, conveniently forgetting his crude behavior of the day before. And then he walks off as if she wronged him and not the other way around. And today? He again shrugs her off while she leaves her self-respect in her room, and prances around in his room, asking for his attention, for his sake. And he drags her out of his room and locks himself in for some peace. No regret, no shame, no guilt. I didn't even think he'd have the guts to look her in the eye today. Does he even have a conscience? Does she have any self-respect at all?I don't feel bad for her now. I don't feel sorry for his mistreatment of her. She gives him implicit consent when she seeks him again and again despite all the rejection and insult he has hurled her way. Maybe Akram is not so bad after all- at least he tried to initiate conversation in his broken English the moment before their nikah. Yes he tried to force her into a wedding, but then galti kis se nahi hoti?

The disrespect Asad shows Zoya makes Asya hard to watch.

I wish the slap hadn't happened...
I wish he had slammed his fist into the wall instead...

How are we going to get past this?

Believe me when I saw them today... I realized that I will never be able to accept them as a couple. I saw an abuser and a helpless woman who is really selfless.

Priyanka, I don't think Zoya is helpless at all. I'm disappointed to see her not stand up for some respect. This is called being a doormat but without any reason. As a viewer, I'm alienated from both of them now.

If you are a self-respecting woman who knows what is right and wrong, you can't. You have to either deny this incident and pretend it never happened but for many of us this is not going to be easy - in fact impossible. No romance that is built on a slap is palatable.

Leave aside the slap for a moment; let us look at the redemption track. First he never acknowledged what he did was wrong. It took his mother to tell him the truth and then he did not even thank her for protecting his mother or sister...his apology was very poor...a few mumbles of sorry and I did not mean it.

Many people here have called me some horrible names and have been very judgmental, but I am also a very forgiving person but I could not in my deepest soul forgive what Asad did to Zoya after watching that poor excuse of forgiveness. Loads of women have tried to excuse it by saying he has anger issues and it's really tough on him because of his past. Well whoa is me, but sorry, if you're rude you take responsibility and owner ship of your actions...that is what a REAL man does.

I don't know how anyone can get turned on by these recent events...no self-respecting woman would befriend or even lie in the same bed as man who treated her with such disdain and disrespect. I was even more mortified at how poorly Zoya was shown forgiving him. I am not against forgiveness but what happened to the Zoya and her lengthy speech when she stood up to Asad when he sent her to Akram...was that just a marketing ploy by the PH to milk on the horrific Delhi case and act like they cared about women's rights?

Had the redemption scene had some depth, some warmth, some compassion...where Asad would have simply gone to his room after realizing the truth and was shown to wrestle with SHAME and GUILT, then I would have felt some relief. If Zoya had at least said it was not acceptable for him to slap her under ANY circumstance and her feelings about it, and NOT have turned it all into a joke...that would have been at least helpful. ONE line from Zoya like the following: I forgive you but do not think I will forget how you treated me this week...it has left a black mark on my heart that will be hard to erase. GIVE AAK a challenge that the heart of Zoya Forooqui cannot be one by manhandling her...in doing so you teach all young women that they too are worthy of the respect and dignity of the man they love.

Let me add, people are talking because we are all in shock about what we have seen...we are grieving a loss...we are people who do not accept this type of behavior and it would be considerate of those who do to allow us to discuss our disappointment without mocking us. The height of disrespect and bashing I have seen on this thread makes me shudder...and all of this comes from those who support the slap...and we wonder why😕

That is how I feel...I can never watch this show with the same enjoyment...at least this jodi...it was tough but now going into next week...I just don't feel it anymore...that is sad to have seen it happen. But I am glad WE can come together and share this grief...it is important as many of us do get attached to certain stories and characters and to see them blown up and destroyed is deeply saddening...so PJoJo just know you are not alone. 🤗

Good points Laila. I agree with all of them.

I especially loved this bit:

" If Zoya had at least said it was not acceptable for him to slap her under ANY circumstance and her feelings about it, and NOT have turned it all into a joke...that would have been at least helpful. Ps: I request everyone to keep this thread civil, no matter what side you are on. Let's leave the passion out. I don't want this thread to be closed too.

By the way, so far so good. All posts have been great so far and I'm not at all pointing at anyone (trust me!). Let's keep it this way.
